Tricare: Question about criteria
rodriguezequal replied to Allformyson's topic in Insurance & Financing
It wont hurt to have one done though so the insuarance may just be trying to cover all bases -
To simply answer your question...yes it can cause problems with your band...

Tricare: Question about criteria

Cardiac clearance usually means they will need an EKG. They need to make sure that your heart is able to withstand surgery... -

Before I would be able to offer any advice I need to know...what are you eating? -
Hey. I haven't had my band very long, but I am very happy that I went through with it...I found the most helpful research at the lapband website, the realize website, websites of surgeons, and seminars  Good luck to you

inquiring minds want to know.......
rodriguezequal replied to hopeandhealing's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My port is two inches over and two inches above my belly button on the right side. Sometimes after a long session of missionary sex my port area will be a little sore for about 10 minutes, but nothing too bad...it's sutured to the muscle so I don't really worry too much about it moving...? I don't really notice it during sex either...sometimes a little pressure, but nothing too bad. -
My doctor doesn't require any special diet before or after a fill...? I also had a pretty large bruise, but they also dug around looking for mine and poked me twice....

Yeah I know...thank goodness my mom talked to me about that stuff earlier that year...she even bought me a book on it for young girls :tongue2: lol. After my surgery for a few days I wore a sleeper maternity bra. All of the clasps were in the front, no underwire and it was pretty comfy.

Please read! Horrible first surgery!!
rodriguezequal replied to adrian88's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Your surgeon did what he felt necessary. I understand that it sucks to have a 4 inch scar, but think about all the weight you are going to lose! I have talked to a few people who have had to have open lapband surgery. Yes it's a bigger scar and yeah it may not look that great, but it was worth it! I know that this isn't the same, but When I was told at 32 weeks pregnant that my unborn son and myself weren't doing well and that either both of us or one of us was going to die...they told me they had to take my son out now. They cut me from my left hip bone to my right hip bone...yeah the scar is long, yeah it's ugly...but it saved my life and the life of my son...if you think about it...your scar is long...it's not what you were expecting...it sucks, but it may have saved your life! I'm 22 so I know it sucks to have you stomach scarred up and to hate the way it looks, but I wouldn't trade in any of my scars...they have saved my life, they have changed my life...My choice was have a nice sexy round flubby belly or take on some scars and lose weight, but have some pretty ugly "battle scars". I can't wait to lose all of my weight and wear something that shows my tummy...I look forward to answering questions about all of my scars...I look forward to telling people about my son and my lapband! I am proud that I made the choice...the right choice...in getting my lapband and I am very proud of my "battle scars" . I'm always around if you need to talk about it or anything. You can go to my myspace or message me on here. Pick up some Mederma scar treatment...it won't make it disappear completely, but it's something...keep your head up...there is a sun behind all of these clouds  -
For the last few days I have been having pretty bad chest pain...I'm not stuck...it hurts pretty bad. Any ideas anyone? I'm worried :rolleyes2: Thank you for any input :cursing:
-
I'm right with you...I started my T.O.M when I was 7...never owned a training bra...I'm pretty sure that I came out with these puppies...lmao
-
I'm not stuck...I've had this pain on and off for about 3-4 days now. It's not to the left or to the right. It's in the center of my chest where the top of my breasts are. It's not a heart attack. I'm not having shortness of breath or anything...I was just hoping that maybe someone had had the same thing at one point...thank you for all of your input so far

When my mom had gall bladder problems she was sick...throwing up and what not...nothing else is bothering me...just this? I'm 22. The only reason that I haven't gone in yet is because I can't take my son to the ER so I have to wait for my hubby to get home! :rolleyes2:

Get fill even though not sticking to diet?

Big Wight Loss!! Good News or Bad News?
rodriguezequal replied to breezy90's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At my one week I was down 23 pounds! The typical amount is 1-2 pounds a week...that's like the minimum they want us to be losing, but everyone is different. :wink2: Way to go and good luck! Keep up the good work!!! -
3 Days Post Op. Ow. Ow. Ow I'm DYING.
rodriguezequal replied to aprildurham23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor sent me home on hydrocodone/apap...I took it once because the taste wasn't worth it to me... :wink2:. I'm a pretty big baby when it comes to pain, but for me it just felt like I did a whole lot of crunches. I took the Gas X Strips for gas and never really had any gas pains. My surgeon also sent me home with Reglan (anti nausea med) and I had to take that a few times, but I think you should call your surgeon and explain to him how you are feeling. Maybe you're doing a little too much...I was down for a good 5-7 days before I was back to my normal routine. My incisions were pretty numb for the first few days...I think the 3rd day was my worst day, but the rewards for this are so worth it!!! Good luck and seriously...call your surgeon! :crying: -
The place that I went for my surgery didn't accept my insuarance and I didn't have to money then to pay it either, but I had to make the choice...did I want this that bad? Bad enough that I would self pay...and the answer was I want this...I want this more than I ever thought. Now how was I going to come up with $16,000 plus dollars?!?! The answer...CareCredit! It's just like a credit card, but only for healthcare. You have to make sure that the surgeon accepts CareCredit and then you can apply for it online...I hope that everything works out okay for you...good luck!

Get fill even though not sticking to diet?
rodriguezequal replied to SlicedBread's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your post wasn't bothering me until you got here...Sometimes you self sabotage because you're affraid...sometimes you don't even realize you're doing it! I don't think calling someone an idiot is going to "kick them into gear"...in fact they'll be more likely to eat even more crappy foods. I don't have to crush my pills and I can drink through a straw. Bashing someone for their mistakes isn't going to help them. Yes some people on here are too nice, but some people on here are also way too mean. It's people calling others idiots and other names that may cause them to turn to their old friend food...sometimes a little compassion can help push someone in the right direction. Nothing in life worth having comes easily...When she's ready to change and to eat right she will...no one is going to be able to get her to change her ways until she is ready...maybe she asked him to come on here for her so she could get some motivation...some "yeah that happened to me here's somethings I did" or some "We've all been there one time or another...we're here for you!" Just try to stay away from name calling...it just really bothers me...No one is perfect and crap happens...push on and do your best! Take care and good luck everyone!!! -
My surgeon told me that reflux/heartburn after a fill is a sign of being too tight...I would call your surgeon and explain how you're feeling...good luck

Usually the rings that don't vibrate can make them go longer, but vibrating ones are another story!

Right now I am a 42 H!!! I can't wait to be a D or a C even...I want these things gone  lmao

It looks like you need more protein, less carbs, and that you need to ease up on your liquid calories...you're only supposed to have like 1-2 servings of non/lowfat milk a day. You should look for thicker things to eat...try to stay away from puddings and drinks...they just slide right through the band so they wont let you feel full as long as solid food would...

I'm desperate to lose most of my breats...lol. As soon as I lose my weight I'm getting them reduced and lifted!!! I have a lot more than a few cup sizes to go down...lol
