200 crunches- woke up with port pain
rodriguezequal replied to Just Banded's topic in Fitness & Exercise
okay you did 200 crunches so I'm going to go ahead ad say it...duh you have pain lol. Your port is stitched to your abdominal muscle so when you tighten and relax that muscle a lot you are going to have pain in it. I don't think you would have hurt it at all...maybe next time slowly work your way up to 50 then 75 then 100 then you get the idea  Way to go on the 200 though -
Post Op question

OMG on new years I decided I would have a tiny little sip of sparkling cider...I thought my pouch was going to explode! It hurt so so bad. I am never touching anything with bubbles again!!! I'm not sure how the fizzies will work, but I'm not going to try it lol good luck! -
Okay Right after my band surgery I started having extreme pain. They found an ovarian cyst that was larger than my uterus. I lost my appetite. My doctor said that because the cyst messes with your hormones and your body that it can cause you to lose your appetite. It can also cause you to feel nauseated, but I just lost ,y appetite. I keep getting new cysts and they hurt, but I can handle not having an appetite  lol. Good luck and I hope that I helped a little.

OMG the other day I went to Soma (a bra place) and had them measure me...they measured me at a 38 D or DD...lol. I laughed at them and said yeah sure. Anyways I left there since none of the bras at that sized fit me at all...I went over to Lane Bryant and they measured me...I am a 40 G...lol....they were close right . Anyways now I have 4 beautiful lacey bras! They were buy two get two free lol. Glad I went there...next time I wont go to Soma or anywhere else. I always love the way they treat me at Lane Bryants Just wanted to share that with you all

I signed up for here online program where it personalizes it to you. It was like circut training. Wall squats, lunges, jumping jacks, arm lifts, curls...I didn't have any weights so I used things I had around the house: bottled water, vegetable cans, shoes...I have the 30 day shred, but I haven't tried that one yet. Since I was banded I really watched my portions. In the beginning I was so afraid to eat because I didn't want to get stuck or vomit. I also keep an eye on my calories. I stopped drinking soda and changed to 1% milk. I drink water and iced tea and sometimes crystal light. I make sure I eat my protien first. I was also a huge soda drinker too so when I cut those out I think that gave me a jump start. I also started walking a little more then I used to (which isn't too much more lol). I found that things that I used to love shoving in my face, at a rate that would now make me sick, didn't taste good to me anymore. I have a lot of support from my family, friends, husband...It's always good to have a few cheerleaders on your side of the field  lol

At that time I weighed about 240-245. I tried to follow her meal plan, but at that time I just wasn't in control of my mind hunger and what not yet. Then I fell back into my old lazy ways and ate everything and up I went again. I think I may go back and do the excersise with the meal plan and the band! I love her!!! Her workouts are great and I can just hear her yelling at me and it makes me push myself harder
-
Before I got banded I had tried her workout and online program...I loved it! I lost like 30 pounds in 2-3 weeks. I felt good...it's kind of hard at first and sometimes you have to push yourself, but it feels so good. I'm going to start it up again as soon as I get my DVD player fixed lol. I have her books too...lol

I think that it helps to be younger...but who knows. At first I was so scared to eat because I didn't want to get stuck or vomit or anything. I still have never gotten stuck or had any problems. You just have to believe in yourself. Believe that you are ready and that you're going to do it this time. It doesn't hurt to have help and support from friends and family. They say that the average weightloss is 1-2 pounds a week, but I haven't really been working out yet, except for some walking. Good luck...you can do it!

I saw my weight going down in my face first...as the swelling goes down the lump of your port will feel smaller and as you lose weight it may start to stick out more... I know it's too cold to work out outside here too

I had my band done in Washington because my husband was stationed there at the time. My highest was 259 and I'm only 5'3''. I'm 22 years old and a mother of a 2 year old. Honestly everyone handles pain differently, but for me the pain after surgery felt mostly like I had done a whole lot of crunches/sit-ups. I also had some tugging pain where my port is. I took the pain meds twice on the first day and then decided that the taste was so bad that I could handle the pain without it lol. I also have large breasts (42 H) and after I reach my goal weight I am having them reduced and lifted! I feel so good! A couple of months ago I walked 4.3 miles up and down hills! I was tired afterwards, but the next day I wasn't even sore...except for a huge blister on my baby toe...lol! I can walk farther without getting out of breath...my legs don't hurt from rubbing together anymore. It was so so worth the surgery and given the chance I would do it all over again! Good luck on your journey...I'm always around if you want or need to talk...you can private message me or post on here . Congrats on taking the first steps!!! Take care.

trouble swallowing laying flat on back
rodriguezequal replied to creed2474's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think it's ever a good time to try to swallow laying down...I was always told to not eat while laying down...and to sit up after eating for a little while too...as for the feeling something inside of you I have no idea...I haven't had anything like that happen to me -
With the lapband there really isn't a problem with nutrients and what not. The band allows you to feel fuller longer and with less food. I used to eat and eat and eat until I felt like I was going to explode and then a couple hours later do it all over again...since I was banded I don't do that anymore...in fact I don't even feel like doing it anymore! I am down 50 pounds since my surgery and I wouldn't go back and not have the surgery...it was worth it and it really did help. With the band they don't cut your stomach or staple it or anything...the Lap Band is completely reversible (but why would you want to unless you had to). With gastric bypass and what not there is always the chance of you over eating and stretching out you stomach and then gaining back your weight and you also have all the nutrients and vitamin deficiencies to worry about. For me the band was a no brainer Good luck and I hope that I was of some help...

I live in Washington too. I'm 22 and I know how you feel. You may be ready to do some light pe after a week, but everyone is different. If you don't want to tell people you had LapBand surgery you can always tell them you had to have your gallbladder removed or something, but really it's no ones business unless you choose to make it their business. I'm always around if you need to talk...oh by the way my name is Holli Good luck on your journey!!!

I've been banded for like 4 months or something and I don't think for one second that this was the easy way out. If it was the easy way out I could eat whatever I wanted and do nothing and the weight would melt off and never come back...I don't think it's the easy way out, but everyone is different...Good luck and way to go!!!

Sounds to mee like it would be your port since it's under your largest incision. Your band is around the upper portion of your stomach...it's like right by the bottome of your sturnum

Breathing is key to orgasms...you have to keep breathing. Concentrate on every little sensation. Also if nothing helps try a topical cream/lotion/lube that heightens sensations. Checking your meds is a good idea too. Medications can affect how your body reacts to stimulation. There is nothing wrong with toys. My hubby and I have all kinds of toys and that doesn't make me want/crave him any less...yeah the toys are great and work well, but I also love my husband and his toy  lol -

It is hard to tell how well a product works because everyone likes different things. There are clone-a-willy and clone-a-pussy kits that are pretty fun. I have lots of toys and have gone to stores and talked to the sells people about products...I know a few things if you ever have any questions you can ask me on here or private message and I will do my best to help -

After I had my wisdom teeth out as soon as I was awake I was on my way home...I don't know...After I had my son I was in the hospital for 9 days. However I also had a lot of complications...I guess it just depends on the surgery  I agree though that surgeries are taken more lightly here in the states then it is elsewhere, but we do have pretty crappy insuarance here and some of us have none at all... -

Oh goodness no I didn't drive lol. My mom and husband were there with me . My surgery wasn't done at a hospital it was done at a surgery center. I wasn't too worried about bleeding or anything since they don't cut the stomach or really mess with too much in there. Plus I have a blood clotting disorder where I over clot so the Heparin shot helped me. My surgeons only do over night hospital stays if something goes wrong or if the patient is having too much trouble....or if they request it and pay for it and that just wasn't an option for me. -

I was released as soon as I finished a glass of water and was able to stand and walk around. I was out of there about a half hour after waking up from surgery. I was so glad to get home. I had a 2 hour drive to get home and there was traffic, but I wanted to be in my own bed so badly  -

I didn't have the mirena, but I did have the Paragard and we had the same problem. I told my doctor about it and he trimmed the strings so that they were pretty short and that solved the problem! Give it a shot  good luck
