I am never able to make it to the support group! I live in University Place so over an hour one way is just too much for me! lol

I wish that I could Help you. I'm 22, but I only have about 113.6 pounds to lose and I have only lost 53.6 since being banded. Sorry. Good luck in your search! I'm sure you'll find someone amazing!!!

I seriously feel like I just read a commercial script...My surgeon told me to take Flinstones vitamins. They have everything you need, you can chew em up, they're cheap and they don't taste too bad. I also do not have any problems with my vitamins now...Just wanted to share...everyone is different so do what works well for you!

3 months out & needing remotivation

I personally so far have only done some walking. I stay away from bread and rice. Also any veggies that are "stringy", like Asparagus (sp?) and broccoli. I don't touch any liquid with bubbles in it...I had a sip of sparkling cider on new years and I can say I will never ever do that again!!! I still use straws because my surgeon said that it was fine. I watch my calories a little and stay away from fast food as much as possible. I eat my protein first and try not to have salads for dinner. Stay away from liquid calories as much as possible. I haven't gotten stuck yet...knock on wood! I have a 2 year old special needs/disabled son so he keeps me on my toes...other than that so far I haven't worked out much! I'm in need of a fill, but have to wait until I have the money for gas to get to the clinic!. Good luck! -
does your fill doctor do this??
rodriguezequal replied to jewels41's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgeon's clinic offers both. If they cannot feel your port they'll do the flouroscope. I've only had them do a fill after pushing on my tummy to find my port. -

My doctor told me that a lot of women have cysts, but usually they're too small to notice. My first one was larger than my uterus. It was seen on both the MRI and the ultra sound. The cysts are on my ovaries not my uterus. -

Yeah...The first time I had a cyst large enough to hurt was about 3 days after my LapBand surgery! I was so scared it was something to do with my band...It's hard to function daily with one that painful. -

I get them often and they get quite big and painful! I want it to stop. They burst every month or so, but that is painful too...I wish there was something that would stop this problem . It sucks lol -

They just keep throwing pain killers at me. I keep telling them; I have a two year old special needs/disabled boy at home. I can't be all doped up and out of it! -

lol...I said good bye to my iud about 2 months ago because of my ovariab cyst that I kept getting. I'm on the pill now and still having trouble with the cysts...I'm tired of it. What are my alternatives? I can't be on any of the hormone birth control methods. My doctor didn't even want to put me one the mini pill that I'm on...I guess my only option is to either have it all removed or tubes tied or just have a baby lmao...I wouldn't mind the baby idea...in a few months lol. -

Just losing weight isn't success...the true success is keeping that weight off!
-
I understand that, but what I'm saying is your body gets used to what you are doing so while in the beginning you may lose weight, but if you don't change what you are doing and you just consistantly do what you were doing in the beginning you may stop losing and not be successful...that's all.
-
I don't think that is always the case. I have been consistent with programs before being banded with no success...sometimes it's not enough for your body or too repetative to have the results you're looking for. Some programs don't work for others...everyone is different! :cursing:

When I started losing weight my tatas dropped like a mob victim tied to a sinking BMW....My poor girls aren't purky at all, they never really have been even when I was thinner. They've always been huge for my size. Everyone said you're young your skin is still elastic it will shrink back up...so far it hasn't and doesn't look like it will :cursing:...I may have a breast reduction and lift after I reach my goal, but I'm still not sure if I want the pain that goes with that :cursing:...or the price check lol. The Lane Bryant in my hometown has super cute clothes! I just can't wait until I never have to shop there again!!! :cursing:

Hello. I'm going to be 23 in July. I am 5'3.5'' I was 253.6 pounds at my consult. I went to the seminar and within a month I was banded, but I was self pay. At first it was no having soda or bread, but now the hardest part for me has been dealing with the head hunger and all the emotional stuff that goes with being overweight. How bad it would hurt if I took a little sip of something carbonated...it sucked lol. Everyone has been very supportive of me and the people on here are amazing. I have told everyone...lol. If someone asks me about how I've lost weight or anything I tell them. I am not ashamed of my choice...I am proud of it. Proud that I finally had the guts to do what was right for me! To do what I needed to do without caring how others felt about it! Good luck. You can message me or respond on here if you ever need to talk. I'm always around here  Take care!
