I understand that religion is part of it but to keep posting "for those who have had abortions, God will forgive you if you admit you regret it or some crap...come on. Every time someone says something pg has to bring god into it and how god looks down upon this and that...the decision I made to have an abortion had nothing to do with my religion...I didn't choose what happened to me...it wasn't my fault and I am not going to ask "god" for forgiveness when I have done nothing wrong!

That's not what I am saying, but if someone repeatedly pushed into your face that God doesn't exists...or kept saying this happened because you believe in God, I think that it would upset you if someone constantly waved a religious belief in your face if it wasn't what you believed. We all have our own beliefs and this is not the place to argue about whos is right...make a religious discussion thread if it means that much for you to talk about it in every sentence...I don't feel like you're trying to get me to listen to what you believe in, I feel like you are trying to push your beliefs forcefully onto everyone else...believe what I believe or else kind of thing.

Come on guys...do we really have to do that? Can't we just answer a question and give an opinion without having to worry about someone being inappropriate and rude? We should be here to support each other in our weightloss journey and give our views on things without turning a conversation into an arguement! Please keep it somewhat civil

I never knew about that, but I don't think when a girl or a women has an abortion she says to herself...heck yeah...deduction!...I'm sorry, but that was never in my mind at all...An abortion is painful physically, but emotionally it is so much worse! I think this thread has come to an end...I think it's time we all say good bye to it because at this point all it is is arguing about who's opinion is right...when really it's up to the individual to decide if they are pro choice or pro life. It is a personal choice and we should not be judge for the choice that we make in the end. Good luck to everyone and remember that just because you think something is right it doesn't mean you have to shove it down everyone elses throat until they have no choice but to swallow it. Take care and good luck to everyone in their weightloss journey!

Tricare covered the surgery, but NWWLS refused to take Tricare. They said that tricare barely pays out the cost of the band let alone the surgery! I was self-pay, but worth it! I couldn't stomach the idea of having a surgery done at Madigan...lol

Is it me or is this too painful?

You really need to try to walk around as much as you can stand to. The walking also helps expell the gas and helps get your bowels moving again! Also walking around will help prevent blood clots. It's hard I know, but try  Good luck and congrats again :sneaky:

Is it me or is this too painful?

GET GAS-X STRIPS NOW!!! lol. Seriously I didn't have anymore gas pain after I started using those. Right after surgery it's normal to be dizzy because of the meds they used to put you out and keep you out. It takes a couple days to get that completely out of your system. Try the Gas-X strips...I got the cinnamon ones and they're not bad at all. It's good that you haven't had anything solid in 48 hours...my post-op diet was liquid only for like a week or something, then thicker liquids (creams), then mushies and then finally solids added in. Also as you add in broths and puddings you'll get bowels back. Some of the pain meds can cause constipation so you may need to take something to help with that. My surgeon also prescribed me an antinausea meds. It get's better. I think for me day 3 was the worst! You just had surgery and there's going to be pain. Try to stay up on your pain meds as directed. Don't wait until you're in pain...stay on top of it :w00t: Congrats and good luck...it will get better!

    Magazine Interview

A man posted this in the general Lapband and no one was replying so I thought I would help him and post it in here... Hi I hope you don’t mind me posting like this, but I wondered if any of you might be able to help. To introduce myself, my name is Henry Austin and I am a North American Correspondent for Look magazine in the UK. Please see our website at www. Look.co.uk We are a large weekly women’s magazine, similar in style to People in North America and we pride ourselves on ensuring the welfare of people who are good enough to entrust us with their stories and experiences. My editors have asked me to find a young lady between the ages of 19 and 31 who has lost a large amount of weight after having a lap band. While maybe slightly unrealistic they asked for about 250lbs. We were hoping it might be possible to interview them and produce a feature for our magazine. Please rest assured that if someone decided to go ahead, everything would be treated with the utmost care and sensitivity. They would remain in control of the procedure throughout and I would not do anything without your prior agreement. As with everyone I write about, I would also guarantee to read everything back to you before publication to ensure both accuracy and your happiness with the piece. While I’m sure it is not a prime consideration, it is my duty to inform you that we do compensate everyone for their time in speaking with us or indeed make a donation to the charity of church of their choice. This is usually $1000, although this can rise at the editor’s discretion. If at any point you have any queries please by all means e-mail me at henry.austin@yahoo.ca and I will be happy to answe them for you. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and may I wish you all, all the best for the future. Kind regards Henry
