By the fourth week of pregnancy your developing baby is about 1mm in length By the fifth week your baby is about 1.5 - 2.5 mm or 0.05 - 0.09 inches in length. Photo Gallery | BabyCenter Check out this slideshow for more...trust me as soon as I found out I was pregnant I was looking at every chart out there...my baby was about the size of a sesame seed when I lost it. -

A lot of misscarraiges require d and cs so they aren't just for abortions... -

I'm just saying that they are small...and I know they aren't actually tails...I'm not stupid. I'm not going to look at the pictures, only because at this time I am still crying when I see pregnant women lol...By the end of the 1st trimester the fetus is around 2-3 inches long...a lot of women have their abortions around 5-8 weeks when the fetus is less then or about 1 to 2 inches...at the 5th week the fetus is only about the size of a poppy seed. -

if dismemberment was needed in the 1st trimester than how do women miscarry without pieces being chopped off? -

The fetus during the 1st trimester is generally pretty small...what would there be to dismember...the little feet nubs?...or maybe the tail? -

a 13 year olds body and mind is not ready for being pregnant or having a baby! It's not just about being teased! -

I didn't say I agreed with the person who said that...it was just an example! Not all abortions are dismemberments...you are talking about later term abortions and abortions performed in the 2nd tri as I said before most abortions occur in the 1st tri. -

tell that to a 13 year old that goes to school pregnant and gets called a whore and made fun of...tell that to the child that's daddy and grandpa are the same person... -

If that is the case then you would still hear their muffled screams...just like if you were to scream under water... -

but in it he said that the fetus may physically recognize pain, but that their mind doesn't process it as pain...I'm not saying I believe in everything he said...or that I believe in all the articles...but that most of the articles that are posted by people that are neither pro or anti they say the pain doesn't start until around the 20th month! -

No he said the body feels it around 26 weeks, but the mind doesn't feel it until after birth. You know how bad that thought must make women who have had misscarriages feel...So is the baby in pain when your "God" is aborting it? -

Yeah...and lobsters "scream" when you throw them in boiling water, but I bet you enjoy eatin it! The woman screams as she's being raped...as she's dying from giving birth...as she cries to her therapists because her daddy got her pregnant...as the 13 year old cries because he said he loved her...and then he left...Those are later term abortions...most of the abortions are done during the 1st trimester...a lot right after finding out (6-8 weeks). -

You have no idea what you would do because you are not in that position. I had friends that were very very pro life and she got pregnant because they weren't being careful and they ran out and got an abortion because they weren't ready for children. You hate all religions, but Christianity? I do not share your beliefs as well as a lot of oter people don't so why should we be forced to follow your "God's" bible as the word we should live by!? -

Did you read the whole thing because this is what it said in the conclusion: "...recent studies have shown that the fetus most certainly does feel pain by the end the second trimester, when late-term and partial birth abortions are performed." -

A fetus is not yet a person! It is a fetus! Comparing it to slavery is just ridiculous...they are not a like...period. What happened to slaves was torture...long drawn out torture...that is not the case in an abortion. -

Your article is from a prolife website...mine is from niether a pro life nor pro choice site...It was brought up because again you suggested that slavery and abortions are similar...they are not!!! The slaves were already people, people that cry, eat, breath, feel pain, talk, laugh...fetuses are cells that are growing into a person...however they are not yet a full person. Those are two things that cannot be compaired because they are not the same! -

Do Fetuses Feel Pain During An Abortion? It's not the fact that they don't feel pain that makes it okay...it's the fact that it is not the governments place to tell us what to do with our bodies! Period. Your articles are incorrect. The pain receptors haven't even formed by 8 weeks. -

I have read many articles where it states that the fetus does not feel any pain during an abortion. Some state that the may start registering pain around 25 weeks and if an abortion is done after 20 weeks a lot of the doctors performing them will offer the woman the choice to give the fetus anesthesia. Since most abortions are done suring the first trimester then pain isn't a problem...When I was pregnant with my son everytime they did an ultrasound my son moved as far away from the ultrasound device as possible. -

compairing and abortion to slavery is ridiculous! The fetus is not suffering. It is not being beaten...it isn't being mistreated...it is NOT the same...not even close!!! -

It wasn't just "blacks" that were slaves. Regardless of whether there is life within the womb or not shouldn't be the problem...it should be the womans choice whether she wants that life to grow into her child or not...not the government. -

If that was the case and all science proved that then it would be considered murder by law and would be made illegal...which is not the case
