  5. 1cc of water will not hurt you----dissolves in tissues. But it does sound like it went in the port if you're not hungry. You'll know after only a few days if you stay that way. With a first fill you usually will be able to tell. My friend's port was missed several times at several fills, and she finally went back to the surgeon who got it right. Some people can't get it right as easily. I personally only have my surgeon doing it, but finding the sweet spot took a LONG time.
  6. I had my "unfill" Mon. and I'm amazed at the difference .5cc makes. I can eat now without regurgitating but still get full very quickly. I had only lost 9 lbs throughout the summer from being overadjusted, but hopefully now I'm back on track. I know it will have to get tweeked a bit tighter, and know I was eating a few things that were causing slow weightloss like Slim Fast, but I'm so hoping it's all worked out now. I took my husband in with me as the last couple times I've gone in there, the culture of my doc was causing some disrespect to me being female (at least it seemed so). Much happier now.

Please help, not sure if it's too tight!!

No, he's by himself with a phy asst. But that's a good idea for me to look further into. Thanks

Well, I tried getting into my doc's office for the unfill this week, but he's out of the country until a month from now. That's what happened after the over-adjustment, then I set up another appt for 2 wks ago and I had to reschedule. He's 1 1/2 hrs away from my home so we have to juggle it a bit. Now I have to go another month. Good thing I have plenty of Prevacid!
  9. Yes, on liquids 2 days, then soft until tolerating regular. The band stretches with more saline so the stomach is more restricted. I understand the can go up several cc's beyond the "4cc" lapband it is.

You definitely need to go back and get checked out. I PB all the time but don't ache unless I've done too much PBing. We both need to get checked out!

Yeh, I would except my office visits they bill for cover my adjustments. So I really don't pay at this time. When that time comes, I will go somewhere else, and closer to home. I've already checked out another place. Thanks for your advise. I'm for sure going to be more assertive.

You're right, Restless Monkey, He was mad at me for not losing. The fact is he under-adjusted me last summer and I didn't come in and get it corrected due to him not wanting to under-adjust me at the time. Therefore, I gained weight and finally went back 10 mos later with the office mgr talking me into it. They do want to unfill me a bit (per the PA) but I can't get in until probably next week. Already 6 wks has lapsed w/reflux. I do feel the gerd constantly coming up no matter what I eat except Slim Fast.
  13. I also have a 4cc band and was told by my doc that he gave me that one because I had a smaller amt to lose and it would work fine on me. I got it 2 1/2 yrs ago and due to my fibromyalgia & disc problem, like you Livinwithfaith, can only do a minimum amt of exercise. Therefore, my weight loss has been VERY slow. But, the 4cc band does stretch to quite a bit larger cc's.

I got over-adjusted on my last fill and my doc said he did it on purpose to see if I'd start losing weight again (I had gained), and I've been spitting up and have awful acid reflux---so now they want me to come back and get a bit removed from band. I'm also now on Prevacid twice a day to control the reflux. I'm doing best on liquids so stay on Slim Fast pretty much. Anyone else have similar experience?
  15. Don't be discouraged as it took me a whole year to get some of my weight off and most of it was from before the surgery---and it won't come back on unless you go to high cal stuff. I'm a year and a half and still looking for that "spot", so hang tough!
