    Is this hunger normal?

I did 2 weeks liquids post-op and due to an intestinal infection (not related to surgery) I skipped the mushie stage all together and went to full solids. I don't have any restruction so I didn't have any problem. I ended up in the hospital and treated for dehydration because of the C-Diff infection. My Doctor was ok with me skipping the mushies...
  2. I am three weeks out and I don't have any restriction either. I find that you have to remember not to drink with your meals and that helps to stay fuller longer. My Doctor says that during the times that you do not have restriction to eat 6 small meals a day to stay full. Hang in there, I'm have a time too, just keep the end results and why we are here in mind.....

Can someone tell me why cream soup is not on the liquid list. It is the same consistancy as pudding. Other than calories I don't understand...

    Rash

I was banded two days ago and have now developed a rash all over my stomach. Has this happened to anyone else?
  5. I have this nasty taste in my mouth and it is dry all the time. Is this the norm?

    Hampton Roads/Peninsula thread

I'm drinking crystal lite, special K protein water, and things like that. I have had the soup. Other than the mouth issue I would have this licked. I'm not sore and I keep reading people having pain at the port site, I don't even no where mine is. Maybe he didn't put a band in, just poked a lot of holes in me. LOL

  11. Not that crazy about the taste, but it is an easy way to get my protein in. I'm only 3 days post-op and that is the only way I can get it in

That is great for all of you. With such a fast weight loss, is any one having problems with saggy skin?

    Anyone banded Feb 3, 2009

I was also banded on the 3rd. I am not very sore just a lot of discomfort. Today is the first day I got my protein in. I purchased the whey protein bullets. They are 3 oz with 50 grams of protein. That is the only way. I have a bullet mixer and this afternoon I had the Special K protein drink 5 grams and made a slushie. It is a nice treat. It is hard to get it all in when you are not hungry. Does any of you feel sick to your stomach? I'm having a real issue with that..

    Any February 2009 Bansters?

I was banded three days ago and am feeling just okay. I put myself on a pre-op diet because my doctor did not require it. I lost 18 lbs. Be careful with the last supper thing that is what got us here in the first place. Remember that food will be here later just smaller amounts. This is the first day that I have got my protein in and that was just because I downed a protein bullet. I have not felt hungry yet but you have to force the fluids down. There is nothing simple about this process. Good luck to you all

    8 Weeks/2 Months Post Op

Wow Pete great work, keep it up. You give me hope...Good Luck
  20. I have the same problem with the vomiting after waking up. So, I told my doctor about it and he gave me a script for a patch to put on 1 day before surgery and said it would last for 3 days. He said that with the meds they would give me should work. I'm being banded on Feb. 3rd so time will tell.

    I want to give up

I'm so sorry you are having issues, but we have to remember that the band is a tool only. It is not going to take the weight off for us. If your not dropping lbs than maybe you need to change your game....Are you getting in the amount of protein you are required? Maybe try staying away from the oatmeal because of the carbs. and is the oatmeal plain or with sugar....Write everything down that you are eating and you may be surprised of the carlorie intake everyday. Keep in mind we didn't get her over night and we are not going to loose it over night. It sounds to me that you really haven't changed your eating habits, just reduced them a bit. You should have a support system through your doctors office too. Don't give up call out for help contact your doctor. Look at what you have accomplished so far. Reflect back at how you were feeling at 256 lbs. vs. what you weigh now. I think you just need to take back charge of your food before it takes back charge of you. You can fight it or you would not have taken the steps to be banded origninally. Remember you have to take all these classes for a reason listen to what your doctor is telling you and good luck...Don't give up YOU CAN DO IT......committ to a different plan....

    Hampton Roads/Peninsula thread

Call your docs office and ask what steps to take all doctors are different. Some of those are provided through them. You want to also check with the insurance to find out what all they require. Do those first and get your insurance approved. You don't what to pay a lot of out of pocket expenses if for some reason you don't get approved. Good luck . These other ladies have a whole lot more knowledge than I do, I will not be banded until one week from now. They will be able to help you out a lot.

    Hampton Roads/Peninsula thread

It is possible, you may want to call the doctors office and ask whoever handles their insurance. They are pretty knowledgeable about these things. They also have a pretty clear understanding the the different insurance companies they deal with. I would also call your new insurance and find out that if you have any complications if they cover it. Even though they don't cover the program. Most companies you can continue to get the insurance coverable for 18 months with a fee after ending employment. I know Anthem BCBS does this you may want to check your BCBS about that. Just some suggestions...
