angelahornsby72 replied to Roheryn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey guys, sounds like some of you have had a great week. Good Job!! I have gained 1 lb this week. I lost almost 7 lbs the week after my fill then it stopped...dead stop. Now I feel like a have very little restricition. The scary part is that I am not suppose to get another fill until Nov. 23rd. I don't think i can make it that long. I am walking at least 3-5 times a week. I feel really good but I am worrid about waiting soooo long for my next fill. Have any of you had a second fill yet? -

I am down about 4.5 lbs this week. I was so excited because in the 6 days after my fill I was losing weight about 1 lb a day. It finally slowed this weekend and now I will have to see. I do have some restriction and I get full quick!!! Great job to everyone for last weeks loss. -
Here are the things that I am going to miss: 1. Shopping in the Womens section only. 2. Being the biggest one in the crowd. 3. Being tired and out of breath after walking short distance. 4. Black bathing suits with skirts.

Last week was really rough as I had PMS, no restriction, family issues, and a birthday. All this added to 3 lb gain. But the cake is gone, family is happier, and I got a fill. I now have 3cc's in my band. My mom went along and she said that it looked much worse than I felt. Thank god!! I am back on track and ready to roll. I hope to lose 20 lbs by Christmas. That is what I want for Christmas. Glad to hear everyone is doing well!!! Keep up the good work. -
excited about the pain
angelahornsby72 replied to MADE IT 2 MY GOAL..OH YEAH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Sassymama, The heal pain could also be plantar fascitis. This is a big word for heal spur which is a stretching out of the ligaments and tendons that run from your calf to the heal. Good shoes, stretching ( very specific for this ailment look on the internet) and anti inflammatory pain med are usually all you need. Hey but keep walking because it will definately help. Every little bit counts. I am also a football mom and I walk while he practices. It seems to be getting easier. Hope this helps... -
JasonR, I also have the "hiccup". I find that I have it after I eat or drink more than a sip or two. I kind of laugh and figure that it is my body saying okay I'm full. But it is very weird.

Back & Shoulder Pain
angelahornsby72 replied to alcambra's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Howdy, I thought I was a total weirdo... I am having the same pain that you describe. my pain feels just like post op gas pain but at this point i should not still be having it. Called my support person today and she said it does sound like trapped gas. Maybe yours just moves a lot qiucker than mine (which will last hours sometimes. ) She said it could last for several weeks... I hope not it really hurts. -
RN's How long did you take off work?
angelahornsby72 replied to ambraberger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there, I am also an RN and work in the ER. I took a full week off but only returned to 8 hrs shifts the second week. I am in that week now and so far so good. I am not really feeling very weak but my energy level drops after 3pm.. maybe its naptime. Hope this helps and good luck!! -
Hi Just thought I would quit lurking and join in the fun. My named is Angela. I am a 35 yr old wife and mother of 3 boys. I am also an ER nurse that needs to lose some weight....I have been steadily gaining weight since I was 18 and just can't seem to ever keep it off. I was banded AUG 18th, so far so good. I want to shop in the regular area of a store for once in my adult life (I think i will cry when it actually happens.) My family and I are huge sports fans and often can be found on a ball field or in the Grandstands of a NASCAR race.. (GO GORDON #24). I look forward to making this journey with all of you from all over the world. GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!

Shh.. Can you keep a secret??
angelahornsby72 replied to jenz75's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just tell them your having your gallbladder out. Surgery is very close and recovery is about the same. Even the scars can be the same. -
I wish removing the steri strips would have made it go away. I took them off on Friday and my belly looks gross. This really red bumpy rash that itches like I don't know what. Benadryl isn't really helping. I hate Slim Fast so I found away to get the benfits and enjoy it. I mixed it with some frozen fat free vanilla yougart that is made with splenda and blended it like a milkshake. I can only drink 1/2 cup but it is wonderful. I have potatoe soup today but i had to put it in the blender because it was too chunky. It looked like gruel but tasted good.

Hi, just noticed your post and we were banded the same day. Good luck. I have tried to mix up my food choices so I don't get bored. I made a frozen protein shake tonight and it was goood!! I think that it was a bit more than I could handle because i drank it 20 min ago and i feel like I had Thanksgiving dinner. It was only 6 ounces but it was thicker than anything I have had so far. Maybe I will half it next time...ugh. I guess we will leran exactly what are bodies can handle and what it can't. Well keep me up to date on your progress. I had 86 pounds to lose to reach my goal. 11 down and 75 to go....

Hi everyone, I had my band placed on August 18th. For the most part everything has gone smoothly except this horrible rash and itch that I am having around the sites. I guess I am allergic to the adhesive used for the steri strips. I cannot make the itch and burning sensation go away and it is making me crazy. Yes, I am using Benadryl cream and taking it by mouth. I am still on the full liquid diet. I cannot tell if i am hungry, gassy, or just in pain at any given time. I feel like I am doing well with my meals except for the water. I have never been good at drinking water. I have added crystal lite and decaf tea to it to spice it uo a little. I have walked alot to get rid of the gas. that does help!!! Glad to be here to share this journey with all of you.
