  1. I agree. I love my surgeon to pieces as a person. He is very compassionate and kind but that doesn't mean he's done a lot of revision surgery. I have coexisting Lipedema so I'm going to try to address that now instead. After learning more about it the Lipedema may be the reason for my weigh gain when I began menopause and is something I can't control through diet and exercise unfortunately. I've lost 27 pounds since I began working with the bariatric center and my legs have gotten bigger because of the fat disorder. It's a weird circle....chicken or egg? lol! Anyway I still haven't spoken to my surgeon but I have already reached out to 2 Lipedema specialists for consults to see what they say too Thank you so much and congratulations on your success! Keep it up!!!
  2. I went in for the revision in December and he was unable to do it because I had a hernia and scar tissue. So I had the hernia repaired and waited for the revision until just 2 days ago. I went in again to have the revision and he didn't do it at all because of the scar tissue. I was thinking this is the end of the road for me but now I'm reading your posts. Do you think I should get a second opinion about it? I regained weight and I have bad GERD. I feel hopeless right now and now reading this I'm wondering why I didn't get to have the revision surgery at all LeighLon
  3. I have a recurring hernia that came as a result of my gallbladder surgery years ago. I have had 3 hernia surgeries to date and part of Plan B is a 4th. I'm having that on 3/23 and then scheduling the revision to bypass for about 3-4 months after the Hernia repair so I'm all healed up. I've been feeling really down about this so I'm glad to be back on the path to resolution Wishing you the best as well.
  4. I'm looking forward to finding out what Plan B is and hoping he can really fix up the hernia issue so I can have the bypass and as well be done with constant recurring hernias and get this weight off. I didn't even know I had another hernia because I just had a major hernia surgery a couple of years ago and everything was all fixed up. Adhesions can't be prevented I guess
  5. I went in for surgery on Thursday the 29th to convert my sleeve to a gastric bypass due to weight loss failure. When I woke up from anesthesia I got the bad news that my surgeon was unable to do the surgery safely. When he got in my belly he found all of the mesh from my hernia surgeries as well as a new recurring hernia I didn't know I had. Apparently I have adhesions of the mesh to my bowel. He says he can repair it and isn't giving up on me but we need a plan B. I cried the entire day I was so upset. Waking up to pain and incisions only to discover the surgery didn't happen after so much preparation for that day I was completely overwhelmed with a feeling of grief. I'm really hoping he is able to fix my hernias and mesh successfully so he can complete the conversion to bypass. Has anyone else gone in for surgery and had the surgeon not be able to perform the surgery? I'm still feeling bummed and I don't really know exactly what's next until I speak to my surgeon again and my new incisions completely heal. Happy New Year
  6. I'm having revision surgery on 12/29 and started pre-op diet on the 15th. I had my VSG surgery in Mexico in 2016 and wasn't nervous at all. After gaining over 100 pounds back (thank you Covid isolation and depression) I decided to explore the conversion which was the surgery originally advised for me but my insurance wouldn't pay for it. I'm really nervous this time and I'm having surgery close to home. Also feeling super emotional about it and trying not to keep internally beating myself up for feeling like I failed! I struggle with the protein drinks so I've been buying the high protein yogurts and I found a zero calorie gatorade with added protein that they did a good job hiding the whey aftertaste. It's not as high in protein as a shake but I figure If I'm getting it in that's what matters
