I lost over 100 pounds and then life hit me. I changed jobs, left my husband (long time coming) & moved out of our home/town. I moved back home until the divorce is final (hopefully around thanksgiving) and we sell our home. I found myself less interested in going to the gym and more interested in going out with friends and enjoying life. I have not gained anything in the past year but I also haven't lost a pound. I have recommitted myself to eating healthier (lower carbs, sugar and calories) as well as returning to the gym. I also looked into different GLP-1 injections to maybe help me get into the right mindset and attitude as well as help jump start my weight loss again. I ultimately decided to go with the "hers" program. I was approved and written the prescription and am waiting on my shipment of the injections. Has anyone tried the hers program after weightloss surgery? Did you have side effects from their compound?

So what is a bariatric plan friendly way to drink decaff coffee? So before getting myself weaned off caffeine I enjoyed cold brew coffee with vanilla creamer. My surgeon does not allow caffeine after surgery (or at least for awhile). So I have already got myself drinking decaf cold brew with a splash of sugar free creamer. What does everyone drink in their coffee that is bariatric plan friendly? Also yes I know everyones plan is different but Id like to hear ideas.

Weight loss before surgery
kla7403 replied to jacquelynn22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did lose. My goal over the 6 month program was to lose 21 pounds before surgery. The day of my surgery I was down 49 pounds. I did not have to do a liquid diet before surgery. -
Weight loss before surgery

Some doctors require weight loss. Mine did. If I didn't loose it they would postpone the surgery. Every doctor is different though. -
Losing weight before surgery - how
kla7403 replied to MommyRunMommy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before surgery I lost 50 pounds. I mostly tried to do a low carb diet and made sure I always had healthy snacks on hand. I also tried to walk on the treadmill at least a couple times a week. I also would allow for a cheat day here and there to get in favorite meals and restaurants one more good time before surgery. I was able to stick with the diet pre op when I knew I would eventually reward myself. -
I’m officially half way to my goal! 75 pounds down and I’m feeling great! This forum has been such a great asset on my journey.

Weak Bariatric Vitamin Brands? Doesn't Make Sense...

I buy all my vitamins from Bariatric Advantage. They have a chewable and capsules. -
Weak Bariatric Vitamin Brands? Doesn't Make Sense...
kla7403 replied to Midwest Grateful's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
With the regular vitamins you were able to absorb everything in one dose. After surgery you don't absorb as much at one time. For example I was told anything over 500 mg of calcium wouldn't be absorbed at a time. So with bariatric vitamins they need to break up the doses over the course of the day instead of taking it all at once. That's why they might seem like "weaker" vitamins. -
I take 2-3 colace a day and add in a serving of benefiber usually every other day. Those are recommended thru my surgeons office.

I went into this doing a ton of research. I knew to expect the week 2 or 3 stall. But man does it suck when your experiencing it. I haven't got the scale to move in about six days and it just feels so discouraging. I'm only 16 days out from surgery and I know there's so many new things my body is trying to adjust to. I just feel so bummed right now. All the hormonal changes aren't helping with that either. Ugh I cant wait to get past this little plateau.

Only 15 pounds since my surgery date. The other 49 I lost in my pre op phase which started the beginning of the year. My dr requires you to loose weight. My goal was 21 but I really pushed myself to reach 49.

I had bypass on June 5th. I would pay so much to eat some crackers or some scrambled eggs. I’m so tired of liquids. I want some kind of real food in the worst way! Liquids are ruff!!

Man I underestimated how uncomfortable the gas pain would be! I had my last pain med at the hospital around 8am. My dr doesn’t send you home with anything and tells you to use Tylenol. I’m so uncomfortable that I’m just camped out in my living room in the recliner. What day did the gas pains go away for you?

So I found that cold water from the pitcher with is hurt. I started asking for no ice and let the water come to room temp in my 1 ounce cups and it was like night and day for me

I was told that Gas x wouldn’t help this kind of gas. I don’t know if it’s a placebo effect or what but I nibbled slowly on a chewable gas x and did find some relief. Also put my heating pad on a low setting on my belly (not directly on my skin) seems to be helping.

I had my surgery yesterday. Woke up in my room to kinda bad gas pains I’m my lower stomach. I was given pain medicine and it helped a lot . Also burping as much as I could really made a difference. Feeling much better this morning just tender and little tinges of pain here and there

Its officially JUNE!! Happy surgery month everyone! I have three days until surgery and I'm starting to get that nervous feeling

I started my journey in December and I am less then 3 weeks until my surgery date. My program requires you to lose a certain percentage of body weight before surgery. My surgery goal was 21 pounds and so far I’ve been able to lose 43. Now I’m so close to surgery day and I have this overwhelming desire to eat all my favorite crappy foods one last time. Yes I know eventually down the road you can indulge from time to time. I realize that it’s not like I will never get to eat pizza ever again. I also really want to lose another 7 pounds to hit 50 before surgery. 50 pounds before surgery was a personal goal I had set for myself. I need a way to shut off the part of my brain that wants to eat all the junk in the next few weeks.

I am approved for June 5th! Good luck to you!!

Unjury brand french onion soup is really good! Theres sample sizes you can get too. I got a variety of samples from them to figure out what I liked. The beef soup one isnt bad but the french onion literally just tastes like the real thing.

After completing the last of your insurance requirements how long did it actually take until you had your surgery? I complete my last dietary appointment on April 5th and was told it takes around 3-4 weeks for insurance to approve and be scheduled. Does that seem slow?
