Does anyone Chew and spit just to get the mental out of the way?

Ive heard from several people to eat what you want on occasion not every day and spit it out dont swallow just chew and spit it out that that helps with all the head hunger anyone ever done this ? -
I was banded Monday the 13 th and I had horrible gas pains to but thenk God their GONE. I am however having a problem with all liquids my doctor did not say I could have a protien shake. That would sure make me feel better. Any suggestions would help? Thank You Elain
