Hey Fam, I had my Gastric Bypass Jan 13, 2023. I'm now 16months post-op and down 127lbs. Life is GOOOOOOD! I'm now having LOTS of indigestion, gas, bloating etc. On a date with my wife We had wine with dinner. I had 5 bites of food. I watched her finish as usual. While sipping my wine i noticed that my pouch felt so good. Comforted even. The wine eased the bloat and pain and pressure. From that moment on I've used wine to ease my bloating and trapped gas. It even seems to make digestion in general easier. Am i imagining this or is there real benefits to wine after bypass surgies to aid us in digestion?

Hello ShoppGirl, Yes, I have spoken with my Dr about my bloating and pain in my pouch from my bloating. My aim in my post was to find out from a typically helpful and supportive community if anyone else experienced the same results. The purpose of this community is to share experiences and to help each other. What you gave was ridicule which is in no way informative or helpful. If, you can't be polite, informative, supportive of those who simply wanted information from their extended bariatric family.....be silent. Your silence in these situations is more valuable than your opinion.

Hello All, My bypass was 1/13/23. Since thenm I'be lost 76lbs. Recently i've been suffering with very low energy. I'm taking my multivitamin as i should but all i want to do is rest and or sleep. Any physical exercise past rest makes me extremely tired and i just want to rest. Is this "normal"? 6 months out i did'nt expect to have this issue. Should i Just be more patient with my body?

Hello, So, I FINALLY have my surgery date 1/13/23. It's literally FRIDAY THE 13TH....I nervous as hell. I have great friend that had bypass surgery about a year ago brig me an awesome care package. I wasn't prepared for the frankness of our conversation. No showering for a few days...just wipes. For #2's it would be difficult to "clean properly" so he gave me wipes and suggested a bidet. He said that i'd be walking the same day of surgery!! He said the walking was the best way to deal with the gas pain. This liquid diet SUCKS SO HARD!!!! I'm getting cold feet honestly. Any and all kind words will be graciously accepted.

I received a letter from my insurance (Aetna) that says "Standard Insufficient Information Form". The gist of the letter is Aetna asking my history before completing the bariatric program i completed. Is this normal? Is this a precursor for denial? i'm very anxious now. I honestly thought being accepted into a bariatric program and successfully completing the program was enough.I guess that was wrong.

My bypass surgery will be in early January 2023. Can anyone tell me what to honestly expect postop? I've heard that the gas is terrible and that it makes it hard to breathe? What is he pain level like during recovery? Was sleeping comfortable?
