  1. Donna - I will be there on Saturday and going to lunch afterwards too. I might have to bring my daughter who is almost 10. Is that ok?
  2. That's great Jess and Candra - you are both on your way. Perserverance wins the prize. I am going to the support meeting at Point West Kaiser this Saturday and then to lunch with my gals afterwards. Who else will be there on Saturday? I had my 1/4 c chicken salad for breakfast and for lunch and a couple of bites of nectarine in between. I had vegetable soup and half a piece of garlic bread last night at the restaurant and amazingly nothing came back up. Where is everyone?
  3. Good Morning - Well it took me 3 hours to catch up on my work that I missed by being out on Thursday and then furlough Friday. I slept horribly last night and am starting to feel the effects already. When is your group fill this week?
  4. Hi all - I am back home from camping (in the RV). The Auburn RV Park was relaxing, but not much for the kids to do and it was very hot. I rode my bike twice - not big enough to do more than ride in circles. We did swim about 3 times a day and I had some wonderful naps. I did okay with my food although had trouble keeping dense protein down on Friday. Camping and pbing seem to go hand and hand for me. Sorry to hear your trip was so horrible Nicole. How is Auds feeling now? I'll check back in later - need to check the dryer and take the RV back to the storage place.
  5. Boy I missed alot in one day. I took today off as I went to see the therapist at Kaiser at 11:30. We aren't leaving for camping until tomorrow around 11 am. I didn't even notice you had on two different earrings Candra - I'll check next time I see you. I am up for going for lunch after the meeting on the 25th. I was back to 211 this morning - so that makes 74 lbs for me. I am so proud of all of us - we keep plodding on with our ups and downs - that's what life is all about.
  6. I think any of the surgeons in Richmond would be fine. It just depends on the person. At first I wished I could go to the group nutrition and fills you guys have with Dr. Baggs, but after my last appointment I think I like seeing Robin alone - I get her for 45 minutes all to myself to talk. Plus Dr. Im always does his own fills - probably because he doesn't have as many lapband patients. But I think it would have been fun to meet with you - don't get me wrong. I think I am done with fills anyway. I'm going camping Fri-Sun at the Auburn RV Park - my kind of camping - it will just be the kids and me. I took tomorrow off as I have a 11:30 appt with my therapist and didn't want to use the gas to drive to Rancho Cordova to only be there 4 hours. My band was finicky today - part of my breakfast tuna came up - so I skipped my lunch tuna and had half a little bag of corn nuts - and then that came up. I ended up having some corn chex with milk for dinner and that has stayed down. I am going to switch to canned chicken and see if that sits better.
  7. Good Morning my lapband ladies - Breakfast - 1/4 c cottage cheese and one applesauce cup I was naughty last night and ate about 20 peanut butter m & ms. I had taken my kids to Wal Mart to get school supplies and never should have bought the m&ms. Now that I got that out of my system I will behave. but boy were they yummy.
  8. nope, don't think I'll be wearing one of those dresses. I'm stuck in the middle of a huge spreadsheet at work and don't feel like it. Had my tuna for breakfast then got anxious about work and pbd some of it up. Maybe I should stick to liquids at breakfast?
  9. It took me half an hour to catch up. You gals are gorgeous in the pic and all look so happy. Wish I could have been there. My kids and I were at Six Flags when they opened yesterday and left at 8 pm - boy my feet hurt from all the walking. I didn't go on any rides as my daughter is afraid of the big rides and I didn't want to leave her by herself. My boys did the SkyCoaster for the first time and my 12 yr old's legs were shaking when he got off. We had a fun day together and they all got along. I did a lot of waiting and people watching. Hope your party is going well Nicole - sorry I couldn't make it. Tina - hope you are feeling better. Hi to everyone else - boy our group is getting big - which is a good thing. Thanks for the encouragement regarding guys - I am done with the guy I know and if someone comes along, fine, if not - fine too. I don't know what I would do without my lapband girls -
  10. Thanks for the advice - yep I get it that he is not interested. What pisses me off is that he told my son that he would go in summer and my son really likes him and looks up to him. You can mess with me, but don't mess with my kids. I may go back to plentyoffish.com and look again. I am not looking for any serious thing, would just like to have some adult time once in a while. It didn't bother me up until about a year ago, but now my kids are pretty self sufficient and I don't know what to do with myself. Gotta get a hobby. :thumbup: Yes, Tina, I sometimes get upset that I had to resort to my band and really miss some foods, but I feel so much better 72 lbs lighter that it is worth it.
  11. I'm gonna miss you guys tomorrow. Glad I have tomorrow off even if it is without pay. I took my oldest son to the dermatologist this afternoon and then we all went to Kentucky Fried. I tried the grilled chicken salad, but sadly found I can't eat lettuce anymore - nothing like pbing in the parking lot and I had only eaten a few bites. Anyone know any nice single guys in their 40's - I give up on the guy I like - I'm done being so available and helpful. He just assumes I will there wanting to help him out at school and being nice to him. A couple of months ago we invited him to go to Six Flags with us and he said wait until summer. So at the end of the year I told him if he didn't want to go with us at all that was fine, just let me know so we could use the ticket for someone else. He ignored it. Now we asked him to go with us tomorrow and he tells me he's not really into theme parks - I reminded him that I had previously given him an out and he didn't take it. I don't know what his issue is, but I am done. Sorry for venting - it is funny now that I can't turn to food I have to deal with other stuff that may have been part of my problem to start with.
  12. I found one thing I can't eat - a fresh peach - I took two bites of one yesterday and within ten minutes it came back up - may have been the skin - but I'm not trying again for a while. I had my avocado mixture last night again with about 10 wheat thins. Back to my 1/4 cup tuna for breakfast and lunch again today. I almost lost my breakfast after reading about a possible fourth furlough day or another 5% paycut. Dr. Im appears to have a really different protocol when it comes to fills. I have 7 ccs and I can't imagine getting it any tighter and still being able to eat solids.
  13. Nicole - I hope you can find someone to take the duck. My kids are a boy 14 (will be 15 in a month), a boy 12, and a girl 9. We didn't end up having our talk as I had to take the two younger ones to their first tennis lesson and I didn't feel like getting irritated afterwards. My other son said my oldest was in a good mood yesterday. This may be payback for the grief I gave my mom when I was 14. I'll take the 19 mth old over the 14 yr old any day. Food wise yesterday I had my 1/4 cup tuna w/mayo for breakfast and for lunch. For dinner I had about 4 tortilla chips crunched up with a tbsp of cheese sauce and a tbsp of fat free sour cream and a tsp of salsa and an avocado. I mushed the avocado up with the sour cream to make a fake guacomole. Finally I had a day where all my food stayed down.
  14. Hi Ladies- I can't make it on Friday - it is a furlough day for me and I promised my kids I would take them to Six Flags for the day. We went camping with the RV at the Petaluma KOA Friday and came back yesterday afternoon. My band decided to be really tight and I had a hard time keeping anything solid down. I am down 6 lbs since my fill on June 25. I can only eat 1/4 cup of protein at a meal and nothing else. I am hoping it loosens up a little by next week. I had navy bean soup for dinner last night and my son upset me and I couldn't eat more than 3 bites and ended up pbing it up anyway. We are going to have a talk today after work. Life as he knows it is about to take a turn. Great job everyone is doing journaling their food.
  15. Well I just called and cancelled my pest control that I have had for 12 years. The guy tried to find a way to make it work, but it wasn't enough to make a difference. I already tried to cancel my home phone, but due to a promotion I have on my dsl until next May, it would cost me more to cancel the phone and just have dsl. I decided a cheese stick wasn't going to work for lunch, so I am trying Healthy Weight oatmeal and not doing too well - goodness where do all these gurlgles and burps come from? Candra - I have your black and white shirt on today with the tie in the back - I have already gotten two compliments. I feel kind of weird in it as my arms are showing and what little cleavage I have is visible too. I definitely need to get a better bra. :tongue2:
  16. It's Thursday for me too. Tomorrow isn't a state holiday - we get a Saturday holiday which we can use whenever. I learned this morning not to eat breakfast while reading furlough memos. I couldn't finish my hard boiled egg and almost pbd what I had eaten. We are now at 3 days a month unpaid furlough and we don't get to save them or pick which day we want to take - it will be the first three Fridays each month. We start on July 10 this month though. Can the band tighten with stress?

  19. Good Morning Ladies - Candra and Riley - can you walk some for me? It is too hot here in Sacramento to be walking anywhere outside after work. The only walking I did yesterday was at Super Walmart. Nicole - keeping my fingers crossed for you, but it is bittersweet as hate to see you move so far away. Donna - aren't you going for a fill next week? Christine - yes my dr doesn't do fills as often, but puts more in each time. I think I am pretty much done with fills. Jes, Heather, Tamra - keep up the good work - if you need something let us know Tina - don't worry about one day of eating the wrong things - it will all even out. I don't know how you handle the stress of your job - I give you credit for that. Did I miss anyone? If so - didn't mean to. I had a lot of messages to read and catch up. I am not an afternoon/night computer person. I jumped on the scale this morning and was surprised to see 213.9 - hope it keeps going.
  20. This last fill has really made a difference - hope the restriction stays. I had my lunch yesterday at noon and didn't get a chance to have dinner until 6:30 and I wasn't really that hungry. I just PB'd part of my hard boiled egg - I will try it with mayo tomorrow as the yolk is just too dry. I hate to eat only half an egg - that's not enough to survive on.
  21. Good Morning Ladies - Just finished reading all the posts from yesterday afternoon through this morning. It really helps motivate me to read them first thing in the morning when I get to work. Robin told me to not count calories too - wants me to do the 3 x 1/3 cup. So I am trying to make healthy choices for my 1/3 cups but I am not counting calories. I was counting calories a few weeks ago and got really frustrated in that I would eat about 900 calories in a day and burn 400 off at Curves that day and then I would be up a pound the next day. Robin said something about at this stage I can't follow the calories in minus calories out plan. I don't know where she gets that - I let it go in one ear and out the other. My food yesterday was - b 1 hard boiled egg, l 1 cheesestick and 3 thin slices turkey lunch meat, d 1/3 c salmon and 5 wheat thins. I did eat 2 apple jacks right before I went to Kaiser to see the therapist - yes you read that right - 2- . Don't know why I did that. And I had 4 wheat thins about 9 pm before I went to bed - should have just went to bed. I got on the scale this morning and was down another 1.5 lbs - that means I have lost 4.5 since my fill last Thursday. Keep up the good work ladies - together we can do it.
  22. Really great to see everyone's pictures with the messages - helps me remember who is who. I haven't lost any more than the 3 lbs since last Thursday but I am holding at 216.1. I can really tell the difference since my fill - I may be at my sweet spot. I couldn't even eat a whole hard boiled egg for breakfast this morning. I threw the last 3 bites away. I just had a sugar free cough drop but that shouldn't be a problem? I have a string cheese stick and 2 thin pieces of deli turkey for lunch. Pam
  23. Boy, it took me a long time to catch up with my girls. I definitely have a cold and all this mucus is making me feel nauseous. I have been doing good with my food. Today I had - br 1 hard boiled egg, lunch 1/4 c chicken 3 wheat thins, dinner 1 fresco taco at Taco Bell (hard shell, meat, lettuce, tomato - no cheese - that makes it 150 cal). My kids and I went to a skating birthday party - I had water. I didn't skate as my head is foggy from the cold. It was fun to see some of you yesterday and to have lunch with Donna, Jess, and Candral. I ate the rest of my lunch for dinner last night. I definitely notice a difference after my fill. I can't eat much before I get that full feeling. Hopefully I'll drop some more weight this week.
  24. Christine - I will check again with Dr. Im - maybe there is a better explanation. I was on my clear liquids until about 12:30 today and then had non fat frozen yogurt as I didn't have anything else soft. I had a regular yogurt about 4 pm. I am going to try tuna with mayo tomorrow. I told Robin no way could I only eat 1/4 cup and she said that is alright - 1/3 is fine. Riley - can you stretch and eat your lunch at 1 pm instead of 12? Maybe that will help. I have a bottle of water when I get to work at 6:30 am, then I eat my breakfast at 7 am and my lunch at 11 am. My problem time is when I get home around 3:30 from picking up kids - too early to eat dinner but I am really hungry. I usually eat dinner around 5:30 and go to bed by 9:30. I am going to buy some more little containers and prepare food for the whole week at once so I can just grab a container three times a day. I'll give it a try. I was down 2 1/2 lbs this morning from yesterday morning. 216.5.
  25. Wow, it took me ten minutes to read all the posts from when I left yesterday. I met with Robin for about 45 minutes and we had a nice chat. I only lost 5 lbs since I was there mid January. I was upfront with her about the food I have eaten that I shouldn't have. She asked if I was journaling my food and I told her on and off. Yes I did tell her everyone says she is mean. She seemed surprised - I told her she doesn't raise her voice, it is more the tone. I told her I was 47 and didn't need a mom or a dad (Dr. Im). She wasn't aware he scolded me the first time - so I told her shaming won't help. She said although she would prefer I don't eat snacks, if I do, I need to write them on my journal and also write the time I ate it and how I was feeling at the time (ie anxious, sad). I told her I would be honest and do it but only if I don't get criticized about it next time. She said ok. I received a 1 cc fill which brings me up to 7 in a 10 cc band. Dr. Im was really nice to me (Robin must have told him what I said) and he said he can't really put any more in the band - although it is supposed to hold 10 ccs, the plunger pulls the fluid out if he tries to put more than 7 ccs in. He agreed 5 months in between my appts may have been too long. I had a protein drink for breakfast and lunch yesterday and then last night - I got home at 6:45 pm from Richmond - I had chicken broth and a sugar free jello. I had a massive headache when I went to bed and my stomach was talking to me. I ended up staying home from work today as I still have the headache and I think I picked up a cold somewhere. But the scale is down 3 lbs from yesterday. My stomach isn't growling this morning - wierd.
