Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

I'm so excited for the get together! I can't wait to go back to Denver and see everyone. PS - Hi everyone! I haven't posted in probably 2 years. I'm Jaime, and I got banded by Dr. K in November of 2008. -
UGH, this is so frustrating!!!! :cursing: I'm on mushies and currently on Day 20 post-op. I found this really excellent creamy chicken salad at a local deli, so that's what I've been eating for lunch this week at work. I waited until my stomach felt literally empty, and I got my chicken salad. 8 measly bites, and BAM I'm so stuffed I can hardly swallow normally. But I'm still hungry! My stomach is growling, I swear! I guess the chicken salad is sitting in my upper pouch (which is a good thing, because I feel full) but my lower stomach is empty and having a field day with all the gurgling noises. I seriously feel hungry, and at the same time I feel full. I can't stomach another bite without nausea, but I feel like I should keep eating. This is such a horrible feeling!!!! Please tell me this isn't standard practice for the lap band, and that this kind of feeling will go away? :cursing:

The website says a new Biggest Loser: Couples (Season 8) returns this Fall. I'm guessing it will start sometime in August. They just announced yesterday that they are officially casting for Season 9.

I guess I"ll join the challenge, though I'm rather sick of being a failure. 5 weeks = 10lbs for me. I've just started going out to the local lake with a friend of mine. She's like a drill sergeant, "jog to this tree", "run to that trash can", "if you can talk you can jog!". She kicked my ass yesterday morning! We did a mile and a half in about 20 minutes and boy am I sore today. But that was only Day 1 for us, and we're going to do it 3 days a week at 6am before work. With her beside me, I can accomplish great things. This ball is going to start rolling, I just know it. -

I've been MIA for awhile, mainly because I'm in one of those "Gain and Lose the same 3lbs" slumps. Two weeks ago my weigh-in would have been +3.2, but I didn't wanna admit I was such a failure after having such a big loss the week before. Then last week I was -1.6. This morning I'm -2.4 and have finally lost the 3lbs I gained over the last few weeks. *sigh* I'll weigh-in officially tomorrow, I just wanted to apologize for being out of the loop for several weeks. -
Unfortunately that's not true. 1st place wins 250k and the 1st place at-home wins 100k. No one else gets anything, except their health of course.

Helen was 117 at the finale, she had lost 140 pounds (down from 257 when she started). I'm not sure where you read that the show had her put back on 20lbs, but it's only been 6 days since the finale, and I don't see the show telling her to gain weight after the finale is over. And I don't think her body could have handled 97lbs!

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
jmegirl replied to mljalways's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mom2two, a friend of mine (also a band patient) told me about a girl she worked with who had gone to Mexico for her surgery. For 6 months she put up with the same things that you have put up with (because with a MX surgeon you can't exactly go back and ask what's wrong). Finally my friend convinced her doctor to take a look at her, and he said that (after a few tests) he could tell that the band had been placed around the bottom of the esophagus. He could tell the band hadn't slipped. It just had never even been placed around her stomach in the first place! So all that throwing up for all those months was because she never even had a little pouch. She was devastated, and she'd been through so much that she just asked him (begged him really) to just put her under and take out the band. She decided to get the band taken out and just go with the Bypass. I hope they can fix your band and put it back in the right place! You deserve success with all that you've been through, and I hope you get it! Keep us posted, and stay strong! -
I'm really bummed that Helen won. I think she looked like she'd been fasting for a week or two. Tara looked much better IMO, much healthier. And Mike - wow, just wow. He's going to get so much attention from the girls when he gets to college.

I've been having this for breakfast lately, and it's so delicious and low calorie I thought I'd share the idea. 1/4 cup of Kashi Go Lean cereal (50cals) 5.3oz (one cup) of Oikos Greek Yogurt - plain flavor (80cals) one small cup of Del Monte No Sugar Added peaches (25cals) Mix together and enjoy!!! 155cals of deliciousness!

I would like to respectfully ask to sit this week out. :frown: Yesterday was my anniversary, and I ate like a fat girl the entire weekend, including my lunch and dinner on Friday! I'm actually up 3lbs in 3 days! I'm praying it's water weight, I hope my body is just in shock from eating so much garbage. I hope hope hope I can get back to where I was over the next 7 days. -

I was thinking the same thing Mini. It's horrible just how much we've all been hit with so far this year. -

I found out some really bad news today. My cousin is 28yo, married, mother of one, and 2 months pregnant with her 2nd child. During one of her exams, they found a growth. She found out on Monday that it's cancer. Cervical cancer, and they must terminate the pregnancy, immediately do a full hysterectomy, and get her started on chemo. They haven't yet tested to see if it has spread, or how far it has spread, to her other organs. She is in the process of going for a 2nd opinion, and I'm sure, a 3rd opinion. It's an extremely difficult time for our entire family. I just can't understand why these kinds of things always happen to the people who least deserve it. -
I saw Daniel tonight at the gym. He's lost 148lbs!!! He looks great! He said that all the contestants are weighing in on Sunday morning. I can't quite figure out the reasoning behind that, other than they don't want all the contestants looking dehydrated and pale at the Finale on Tuesday. Just wanted to update everyone on his progress!!

I'm so happy that Ron finished the challenge. Finally, for one week, all you naysayers in this thread can't say anything about him. It gets old reading the same old back and forth over and over again. Also, Jillian is most definitely gay. Daniel was on campus with her for two months or more. I'd believe him over the internet any day. What makes you think Jillian wants to be out in the open about her sexuality? It's no one's business.
-
Where did it say she wasn't gay? It came straight from Daniel, Orange Team member this season. I am pretty sure he'd know since he was on campus with her for so long?

Well, after last week's truly remarkable weight loss, I managed to gain and lose the same 2lbs this week, and today I'm back where I started. I'm happy with my zero!!!!! Because no gain is a good week, especially in my book when I'm prone to little gains here or there. It sure is stressful though, having such a big loss last week for the first time since surgery. I get on the scale, gosh it must be 6 times a day now. I freak out over the littlest tenth of a pound. I need some serious de-stressing in my life. And I need to throw that scale out the window!!!! Also, I'm supposed to be in Denver on Friday (May 8th) for a fill but I still don't need one. It's amazing. Haven't been filled since Feb 13th. I'm going to call this morning and postpone. Not sure what his vacation schedule looks like in the upcoming months so I hope I can get in to see him sometime in June!!! -

I agree!!! 10 lashings with a wet noodle, and make sure it's lasagna! -
According to Daniel (Orange Team and my Gold's Gym buddy), they went home around the end of February. And think of it this way guys...Allison Sweeney's baby was born January 12th, and that was only like 3 or 4 weeks ago in Biggest Loser shows. So they will return to campus having had about 2 1/2 months at home. Usually it's 3 months, so that sounds about right.

Well, I'm convinced that Munchkin was my lucky charm. I have managed to lose -4.8lbs in the last 7 days! That is by far the biggest loss I've had in one week since the week after surgery. I have no idea what's going on but I'm not complaining!!! -

Seriously, Munchkin can come to town whenever she wants. I have lost 3.2lbs since Monday. That's 3.2lbs in 3 days!!! I mean, TOM came to town last weekend so I realize that hindered me a little, but OMG it's amazing! I haven't lost this much weight this fast since surgery. I'm super stoked. I hope it holds out and it's not just a fluke! -

So Munchkin has been in town since Monday night. We've had a blast, I just love her to death! Last night we went to the Dave Matthews concert and it was soooo much fun! Here's a picture! She's so short, she makes me look like an Amazon, but I'm only 5'8"
