  1. I promise, I'm not trying to rain on your parade at all...just trying to prepare you. I am just now losing weight again. I've been within the same 3lb range for 4 weeks!!! I'm finally back down to where I was the first week after surgery. FINALLY! I had my first fill 2 weeks ago yesterday, so I guess it's a delayed reaction for me. I'm eating a lot less these past 4 days, so I'm finally starting to see a daily drop on the scale, even if it's just .2 or .4 it's dropping! Don't get discouraged if you flucuate between the same 2lbs until after your first fill. The key here is to NOT GAIN! Make good food choices and get some exercise and try your best to maintain over Christmas!
  2. Just a general question here - are Triscuits bad for you? I bought some of that Summer Sausage (the Beef kind) that comes out over the holidays. Typically you slice it with some cheese and put it on Triscuits (or some other type of cracker). I've really gotten into eating the meat on a Triscuit dipped in hummus :w00t: and I'm wondering if Triscuits are OK to eat often? At this point, with only one fill, I can typically eat about 8 slices of Beef (which seems like a lot!) with about 8 Triscuits at one sitting. Thanks for the input everyone!
  3. I'm here! I see everyone's posts, I've just not been in a posting mood lately. So much going on! Did you ever order the Optimum Nutrition Protein powders I suggested, or was that someone else? So many of us - I can't remember!!! :w00t: Also, I'd just like to post that I've finally hit my stride - almost 2 weeks after my fill, haha. Numbers on the scale finally headed in the right direction (for a change) and they're not going back up! Lowest I've been since surgery this morning - YEEHAW!!!
  4. You're welcome! Your ticker looks great!
  5. I'm always the first person to rush in Thursday morning to weigh-in....as long as I've lost weight, LOL. I'm down another pound this week, yippee!!!
  6. I don't think Froggi will be updating the sheet anymore. She's not on this site very much lately, if at all. It's probably best that someone else create the spreadsheet and keep track of the weights on their own.
  7. How do gall stones develop, and how is that related to your weight loss??? Just curious...
  8. I only get email notification of PM's, so I can't say. But I've read about a lot of people having problems with email notification since they updated to the new site.
  9. I think that's great, and it makes perfect sense. But be warned, after your fill your tummy is soooooo sore. Mine was sore for about a week. It wasn't that the fill hurt, but the needle is big :mad2: and my surgeon removes the air from the tubing first which required lots of pushing, and that didn't feel so good :blushing:. So you may not be able to tolerate another fill a week later! Also, I've read some people say they don't feel restriction for two weeks after a fill, then they just wake up one day and have restriction - a delayed fill, sort of. Everyone is so different, it's really crazy!
  10. Dee, speaking of Red Robin..... How many ladies do we have joining us on Thursday January 8th? We should keep a running attendance list, because I think this will be a big gathering! Dee (PrtyAntOvrYt) Jaime (jmegirl) Amethystjade Mim (magaines) brandymom1234 Rene' (lifesaver) Who else??? I know there's more, I just can't remember them at the moment....
  11. Wow, if they were expecting you to leave, that doesn't say much about the job they were having you do!!!!
  12. That is great!!!! How did you manage to pull that one off Miss Thang?????? :cool2: :frown: (OK, maybe that last one wasn't necessary....LOL)
  13. Wow! Yet another example of how every surgeon is different. Talk about weird! :frown:
  14. I think most surgeons make you wait a month between fills, so that might not be possible. Hopefully you'll have restriction for a few weeks from your first fill.
  15. Straight cane sugar apparently!!!! I mean, I did so well avoiding the Turtle Cheesecake at work today, but if I'd known I had consumed that many calories before 10am, I'd have chucked it all and had a slice!!!
  16. Today was Cake Day at my office to celebrate the December birthdays, and they had Turtle Cheesecake!!! As if avoiding all the sweets around the Holidays isn't hard enough!
  17. My surgeon had me on soft solids at 3 weeks post-op, and scheduled my first fill for 4 weeks post-op. Every surgeon is different, and every person is different. Perhaps your surgeon makes you wait 6 weeks for a fill because he places your band with some fill already in it? My band was placed empty, and by Week 4 I was really getting hungry, so I was grateful for the fill!
  18. I specifically asked Dr. K about pills because of what I'd read on here, so that's probably the only reason we talked about it.
  19. Just a drive-by post... This morning I had a Venti Peppermint White Mocha (against my better judgement). I've noticed the caffeine in these Starbucks drinks keep me going well into lunch, with absolutely no hunger. Well, I just decided to look up the calories in one of these things. 660cals!!! :frown: I cannot believe I drank that! OMG I am so going back to the 160cal Skinny Vanilla Latte starting tomorrow!!!!
  20. Ask your surgeon, and he should tell you that being hungry is normal, and gaining a few pounds once you hit solids is normal as well. Your surgeon should also tell you that the first 6 weeks post-op are for healing, so if you're hungry, you should eat. Eat healthier, and practice eating smaller bites and chewing really well. Stick to 1c of food at meals, but eat more often if you like. Don't be discouraged if the scale moves up because now is not the time for losing weight. Once you get your first fill, then you can concentrate on losing. Right now you should concentrate on healing.
  21. Let us know how your first fill experience went! Mine was super weird...I have no other words to describe it!
  22. Do you make your own hummus? And if so, how long does it keep in the fridge?
  23. Dr. K said pills were a No-No because you never want them to get stuck, and there's no telling just how small that opening is in your pouch. He said even my birth control should probably be crushed, just to be on the safe side. Did he not tell that to everyone else?
  24. Did you at least wear a NYG jersey to the game?? I figure it's the last you can do since he drags you to all the Cowboys games. I'm sorry your team was beaten, but they're still #1 in the conference I think, so that's a good consolation right?
