  1. Goodness, I hope my first fill is that pleasant! I'm doing well Marie, but I gotta be honest - I've been swimming around within the same half a pound since Tuesday, and I'm bummed. :cool2: I know this is the time for healing, but dangit, I'm sad. Shouldn't you say you're eating like a....squirrel???? You read my mind!!! Sanity is for the weak!! :w00t:
  2. I had my surgery on Weds Nov 5th at 10am. I took my pain meds every 4 hours (as prescribed) until Sat Nov 8th. I woke up that morning and didn't feel that I needed it. So don't back off your pain meds just yet. Give it another day and then try to back off. Pain meds aren't bad, they're prescribed for your comfort!!! :Dancing_sorry:
  3. Great, then put me down for 249.6 as of 9 days post-op!
  4. Am I supposed to update you when I lose weight? Are you updating your spreadsheet with how much weight we lose?

    I'm bummed: protein powder

I ordered the individuals that unjury had for sale. I got one of each flavor, and personally, I didn't enjoy them half as much as the Optimum Nutrition flavors I've tried.

    I'm bummed: protein powder

Awesome, someone else who likes the Optimum Nutrition! My husband has always ordered this stuff for himself, and when I decided to get the band I started trying all his flavors (he has several). Currently, I'm on this kick where I mix half a scoop of the vanilla Ice Cream flavor with half a scoop of the Rocky Road flavor (my husband says Rocky Road is the best chocolate flavor they have!). I mix those two flavors with 8-10oz of 2% milk, add about 3 ice cubes, and blend it in the Bullet for a few seconds. :Dancing_wub: You should definitely invest in the Rocky Road if you like chocolate Protein shakes. :Dancing_sorry:

    Silly question

I gotta say, it really bugs me that people include their pre-op weight in their weight loss tickers. It's very misleading if you ask me. When I first came to this site I got really excited, because I saw people's tickers showing all sorts of weight loss. It wasn't until later that I realized people were including pre-op weight loss (and let's face it, the pre-op diet is essentially a crash diet). Sure, it's weight that they've lost and they should include it, but a little note that says how much of that weight was pre-op would be nice. :Dancing_sorry:
  8. They have individual servings you can buy for like $1 each, so you can taste each of their flavors without buying a big thing of it. I bought one of each flavor and in all honesty, I didn't really like them that much. They're OK, but I've found better Protein powders with many more yummy flavors.

    Creative Mushies

Gosh Mushies are sounding really great right now :tongue2: .....only 5 more days of Full Liquids!
  10. As most of you have read, I've scheduled my first fill for December 5th, which is 4 weeks post-op. I've been told this probably wasn't the wisest of ideas because at that time I could still be swollen, so what fill he gives me may go away once the swelling is completely gone at 6 weeks. Well, no turning back now, since flights are booked. I just read that flights in 2009 are going up soon, especially Delta since they're merging with Northwest. Delta is usually the airline with the cheapest flights from Raleigh to Denver, so this is bad! I read that if you're planning travel in January or early February that you should go ahead and book your flights. I wanted to know if any of you had suggestions as to when I should get my second fill, if my first fill is Dec 5th? If you think I should just bite the bullet and wait to see how I feel, tell me that also! I tend to be a planner, and when things aren't in my control I kinda fly off the handle. So I would really like to book flights now and make the appoitment with Dr. K, but I'd like to know someone else's opinion. :tongue2:
  11. Deb, to get to your signature, you can go to the User Control Panel, also called User CP. Two ways to get there (that I know of): 1) The blue row of links underneath all the smiling faces at the top of the page - the first one says User CP. 2) The drop-down menu at the bottom of the thread, which can link you to every forum this site has - at the top of that list is User Control Panel. It's located below the Quick Reply, and is labeled as "Forum Jump". Once you get to User CP, you'll see Edit Signature down the left side, I think maybe 6 or 7 links down. Hope this helps! :tongue2:
  12. Yay! A weightloss goal I can participate in! I'm starting a spreadsheet here at work, so I can keep track of my starting weight. I'm going to go balls to the wall () and say 20lbs.
  13. Thanks!!!! Should I still leave the port bandage on for a bit longer?
  14. I meant to call Dr. K's office today about it and completely forgot!
  15. I was banded Nov 5th and have lost 8.8lbs. I am on full liquids for one more week, and then I'm on mushies for a week before progressing to solids.
  16. I had my surgery a week ago today. When can I remove the bandages/dressings? Two of them are starting to peel off on their own now that I'm out and about and wearing normal clothes.
  17. LOL yup, it gets more and more shredded every time I wash it. I've started putting it on the Knit/Delicate cycle on the washing machine just so it doesn't get ripped apart! My husband thinks I'm strange. In the middle of the night, I don't roll over to cuddle with him...I roll over for the blankie, hahahaha. I maintain that it is all my mom's fault that I've got such an attachment to the blanket.
  18. I have no idea about sleeping in your own PJs, since I didn't have to spend the night at the hospital. I just wanted to say - I have a special blanket I sleep with every night too. I've had it and slept with it since I was *gasp* 4 months old. No joke! Good luck with your pre-op diet! Sounds a lot easier than some of the others I've read about.
  19. Just call me the Cat Whisperer. I swear, no good deed goes unpunished! I am a self-proclaimed Crazy Cat Lady. I have 3 fur babies: Cleo is 6yrs, Peaches is 5 1/2yrs, and Biggie is 1 1/2 yrs. All females. Well, there is a neighborhood male cat that is half white and half tortie. He wanders here and there, but I'm sure he has a home because he's not the least bit thin. Well, he's taken a liking to me, and now occasionally comes up onto the porch to receive a can of wet food and get some ear scratches. I'm happy to oblige, because he's just so pretty and sweet. Sitting here at the computer, I saw my boy walking up the driveway, and I went to get a can of wet food and walked outside to receive him on the front porch with his food. I sat outside for a few minutes socializing, petting him as he ate, then came back inside. Mind you, I've done this several times. For some reason, my cats are all growling at me right now! They come close, sniff my hand, and growl! I've even washed my hands since being back inside! So they come over and growl at me, and then they growl at each other! Not only have I turned my cats against me, but I've turned them against each other! They're in 3 separate corners of the living room, staring at each other and growling as I speak. Crazy felines
  20. Yay for Tucker! I go back to work tomorrow (shucks!) so it's early to bed for me beginning tonight. I think I'll start drinking more fluids in the evening, so that whatever hunger I have can be satiated with Crystal Light or V8. Maybe that will work!
  21. Pssh, healing month? I don't need no stinkin' healing month! I'm on a mission to be part of the minority - the people who gain NO weight during mushies!! Heh...we'll see how far that gets me, lol.
  22. I just pray that this "not hungry" thing continues for at least another week or two. Chances are it won't, but I hope it does. If I'm hungry, it's going to be much harder to resist the grits!
  23. I'm so super proud of myself that I just had to share with you ladies. Last night, my husband went to bed early (like 8:45p) because he had a really early day today. So I was up last night watching TV til midnight, and of course, I was bored. So I went into the kitchen, opened a package of cheddar grits, and began to make them. Then I realized, I'm not hungry. I had my dinner at 6p, and I am not hungry, and I don't need these grits. And I threw them away and got a glass of V8. I actually resisted food because I wasn't hungry! I can't believe it! I'm on my way to success!!!! Before the band I'd have eaten something, anything, because I was bored and wanted something to do. NO MORE!!!
  24. I have no idea, haha. But we can check a map!
  25. YAY! I can't wait! I'll do my best to meet you, just give me details and hopefully I can leave work early and hit the road.
