I'm just really glad that Jillian yelled at Tara in the first segment of the show, telling her to quit being selfish about wanting to keep Laura on campus another week. Tara only wanted Laura on campus so she had another vote, and Jillian was right - Laura had a crippling injury and needed to go home. I wanted to high five Jillian after that speech! I'm also truly shocked that Mike acted so cocky in Elimination.

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

I am +0.8lbs today, but TOM showed up this weekend so I'm hoping that's the reason. I'm really starting to hate my decision to have the band. Really really really. In other news, I know that Munchkin has been AWOL from this thread for quite some time. But, she's flying into town today and staying with me until Thursday. We're going to the Dave Matthews concert on Weds night! I can't wait to meet her finally!!! Perhaps she'll take walks with me this week and get me moving out in the beautiful NC weather! -
Ron said he was 352lbs at 15 years old, and so he hadn't seen 300lbs since before that. That's when Mike said "Mom wasn't even alive then" which means Mom wasn't alive to see Ron at 300lbs, so Mom is probably 15 years (give or take) younger than Ron.

I'm actually very proud of Ron this week for sending home the injured player instead of sending home the threat. If you're playing the game, Kristen was the obvious choice, but I'm glad that a few of the people left showed compassion for Laura's injury and sent her home. EbonyRose, sorry you missed it. But I saw this in the grocery store last week and almost picked it up, but I didn't want to ruin the surprise for this week. Check your stands for it, I'm sure it's got awesome pictures and stories! I am +0.6 this week. So much for that cloud I was floating on. -
Obviously I said that before this week's episode. I'm shocked he'd say that, it came across extremely rude and callous and just downright mean. I don't think very highly of him right now.

I think she should have kept Sione, if only to play the game. Sione and Filipe would have had her's and Tara's back until the finals, and the 4 of them could have gone all the way.

May 5 is CINCO DE MAYO! -
OMG i can't wait! i think Tara needs to make the move to be the judge, cuz i think she'd be the one to vote off since she's the biggest threat!

That looks fabulous luluc!

^Vicki was upset because she didn't think she was that bad. She said that every bad thing she ever said during the whole season was put on-air, yet things her husband said during interviews that was equally bad was omitted. Heba/Ed (who are also some of my Raleigh peeps) were equally as manipulative in the end, especially Heba, but that didn't get shown on TV either. Yeah when Daniel told me that about Vicki, I guess I wasn't too terribly surprised. I mean, I've seen the Real World enough times to know that producers of reality TV like to pick and choose certain conversations to skew things one way or the other. I had hoped BL would be different, but that Vicki/Brady drama was money for them. Daniel also told me that during the interviews, the people who were interviewing them would say, "So-and-so told us that you didn't like whats-his-face because of such-and-such. Is there any truth to that?" They'd try to get the contestants to talk badly about one another on camera that way. And the fact is, so-and-so never actually said anything like that, but they tell the contestants they did just to see what kind of drama they can stir up. I don't know how true it is, but it seems like the kind of thing reality TV producers would do to ensure drama. That being said, there isn't anyone in the house right now that I actually despise. I think Ron has a big heart and wants to do what's best for his son, even if it means "playing the game" and being manipulative. And the cousins Sione and Filipe were just pissed off that BL made them switch trainers. And honestly, if I was on the treadmill for 2+ hours and my trainer (Jillian) ignored me and worked with everyone else, I'd be pissed off too, and likely throw a tantrum to get my point across. And I still think Tara is a beast and deserves to win it all just cuz she's the bomb. :smile2:

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
jmegirl replied to mljalways's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I suppose you could invest in the rechargeable batteries to save some cash on that. I've been considering one of these for awhile...hadn't quite decided yet. :smile2: Thanks for the info!! -

Ebony does it monitor your calories burned around the clock? Like, if you wear it while you sleep, will it monitor you then as well? Also, does it take batteries? I imagine if it's on 24/7 the batteries must die pretty frequently. -

I had my 3rd fill 7 weeks ago. After 5 weeks, I started to feel it. And now, I am at my sweet spot. I don't get it?!?! For 4 weeks I felt like it was just another fill and I'd be back in a month, then all of a sudden - POOF! I had my first PB a week ago on broccoli of all things. It's just amazing how my restriction has kicked in so far beyond my fill. I had a fill scheduled for this Friday but I'm not going near Denver, haha. I'll reschedule for the first week of May and maybe by that time I'll need one. Meanwhile I'm enjoying a one or two pound drop in my weight. And the small loss has motivated me to get some exercise. YAY! Happy Monday everyone! -
No need to get snarky in here ladies!!!! There's something undesirable about everyone in the house. It's just whether the BL editors want to include it or not. Last season they had a Field Day with Vicki, but she wasn't the only one being that manipulative - she's just the one they picked to show being that way. Daniel (this season - Orange team) told me Vicki watched herself the way she was portrayed on BL and needed therapy because of how much that show skewed things to make her look so evil. So I don't believe everything I see, and I definitely don't take things at face value.

Yeah the fresh chopped tomato really makes it good I think. And I use a little more vinegar than it calls for, mainly because I like things tangy. I'm the same as you luluc, I keep frozen edamame in the house at all times. I think I'm going to go make some of this now! :welldoneclap:

My goal is 14lbs. Maybe that'll help back me into my old work pants so I can stop wearing the same two pairs over and over again! :smile2: -

Monday weigh-in sounds fine to me. So I've postponed my Denver trip indefinitely. I'm at my sweet spot, I've got good restriction, so I don't need a fill. Why aren't you losing weight, you ask? Because I don't work out. I don't exercise. I'm lazy as can be and I've only lost 22lbs in 5 freaking months. It's disappointing beyond belief, but it's all my fault. There's nothing Dr. K or anyone else can do for me. I'm sabotaging myself by not doing the exercise. I eat right, and I don't eat more than 1200 calories on any given day. I've got perfect restriction, but I should have lost at least double what I've lost by now, and I just haven't. But I only have myself to blame. It's downright depressing that I can't get my ass in gear. Ugh, sorry just had to vent. -

Julie-Ann, put me down for -0.6lbs since Saturday. I'm really on a roll here I think, and had hoped to weigh-in this Saturday for a larger number, but I'll take what I can get! Thanks for keeping track of everything this time around!! I think a Memorial Day challenge is a great idea! I'm in! -

I am down 1.2lbs this week! -
You know who I think is a hottie. Ron's son Mike. He's absolutely adorable and is gonna be even cuter when he's lost more weight. It's mind-boggling to know he's lost like 120lbs already!
-
I haven't asked that yet, I will do so today (if he's there). If not, I'll definitely see him tomorrow! I actually did ask him about David, after that whole Joelle debacle with those two not even speaking anymore. He said he and David are still best friends and are just as close now if not closer. The way he explained it is that he can't really fault David for not being "ready to commit" because there was a time when Daniel wasn't ready either. To make this kind of commitment and lifestyle change you have to be ready. David just wasn't ready, and Daniel said he was upset at first that David didn't try as hard as he could to keep them on the ranch, but ultimately he realized that a year earlier, he was in the same spot as David - not ready to start the journey. So I was happy to hear that they were still good friends. He said David is doing really well with his weight loss, though the look on his face when he said it told me he wasn't trying as hard as he could and he wouldn't be one of the huge successes at the end. But who knows, they've still got 2 1/2 months until the finale. Daniel said he wanted to have lost 200lbs by the finale, which means he's probably got another 80lbs to lose in the next 2 1/2 months. I told him he'd be a little hottie when he was done with his journey, and that made him blush. :crying:
