Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
jmegirl replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I don't know how I did it, haha. After gaining 2lbs over the last 3 days, this morning I managed to get right back down to where I was last Thursday. I hate my body right now!!!! UGH! :grouphug: So, for the weigh-in I'm even stevens AGAIN. *sigh* I wonder if I'll lose any weight during this challenge??? :grouphug: -

I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?

I've gotta say, that was the worst part of the whole thing. Mine was liquid and damn near explosive for 3 days. :grouphug: -

Yikes, tomorrow is the weigh-in! I've gained. I swore I wouldn't gain during Mushies, but I've gained. :crying: But I refuse to adjust my ticker down! -
Thanks!!! I've been in Planning Overdrive the last few days. But I'm proud to say that today is my 3 week Bandiversary and I feel like a million bucks! I really don't even feel like I had surgery, except for when I bend over and try to pick up something slightly heavy - then I feel the strain and remind myself that I'm only 3 weeks post-op. But I really do feel fantastic. Now the only thing I have to worry about is - Uncle Floyd is bringing his girlfriend and his daughter. I didn't plan on extra people!!! We don't have enough seats at the table! :scared2:

LapBand Food Stages Lists Suggestions

You really should call your doctor about this. My doctor says the first week back to normal food should be "soft foods", but every doctor is different. -
How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
jmegirl replied to mljalways's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hahah, yea I don't care what caused it. It's gotta be one of the most horrendous things I've ever experienced in my life. It wasn't just once or twice a day. No no, it was all day, gosh at least once an hour but probably more. It was terrible. I'm not glad someone else had that problem, but I'm glad I'm not alone, haha. -

An ass-hose is basically liquid poops to the highest degree. I'd say that my experience with it was almost uncontrollable! Take the code for your ticker and paste it into the "Signature" spot, which is in your User Control Panel, on the left it says Edit Signature, you can paste it there and it will show up every time you post. You can find your User ControL Panel in the drop-down menu at the very bottom of the thread below the Quick Reply box. -
How are the banded Notorious Novembers???

OMG I suffered from this same thing from Day 2 through Day 5 at least. It was sooo terrible. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this! I had to fly home with it! I was so gassy, and I couldn't let anything out the bottom half because I was so afraid I'd mess my britches. As it was, I ruined two pair of panties and one pair of lounge pants before I even left the hotel on Day 3, LOL. -

Anyone Being Banded in November???
jmegirl replied to Lcubed's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is it Billy or Will? Or how about Willy? :tt2: Tomorrow is my 3 week Bandiversary. So far so good! I'm on Mushies/Purees right now, but Thursday (TURKEY DAY!!!) I get to start soft foods. Hurrah! After surgery I was on Clear liquids for 3 days (but didn't have an appetite so it didn't matter) and then Full Liquids for 11 days (still didn't really have an appetite, haha). Then I started the Mushies for a week, which is where I'm at now. Starting to get hungry now though, dangit. I've been indulging in Fat Free Refried Beans with chunky salsa and shredded cheddar, baked golden and bubbly, topped with sour cream! By Day 2 post-op I was convinced that I'd made the best decision of my life. Recovery was a breeze. It was so much easier than I thought it would be. I don't know if I'm in the minority on that or not! My scars have faded to the point that it's really hard at first glance to see them! Except for the bigger port scar, the rest are unnoticeable. I've had cat scratches that took longer to heal than these bad boys! It took about 3 days post-op before I could sleep on my side again (with a pillow undernath for support). I had surgery on a Wednesday and went back to my desk job the following Monday with no problems - though I was working from home those first 2 days. Still, I sat at the desk for several hours at a time without issue. OK I'm typing a book here. Ask me any questions you want, send me private messages if you want - I'll tell you anything you wanna know! I'll even tell you about the unpleasant side effects those antibiotics had on my lower half...:w00t: LOL -
I'm full, and yet I'm hungry!
jmegirl replied to jmegirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I guess what I meant was I tried to wait until I felt hungry - which to me is an empty feeling. I never really knew what it was like to be hungry, ya know? I always just ate when I thought it was time to eat. I had a packet of Weight Control Banana Bread oatmeal for breakfast at 9:45a, but it took me until 10:30a to finish it. Then at 12:45p I thought I was feeling hungry again, so that's when I got the chicken salad. Maybe I wasn't really "hungry", which is why 8 bites filled me up? I don't have any fill in my band right now, and I'm pretty sure the swelling is all gone. Drats, who knows?? This is tough! Figuring out what's real hunger and what's just the instinct to eat?? It's so tiring, I need a nap... -

That's great!! :tt2: I really do love Bon Jovi. I saw him in concert back in March, he came to town with Daughtry. Talk about a beefcake show  They did a duet to "Blaze of Glory" and I almost died! :w00t: -
I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?
jmegirl replied to Cappy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt like this too - for about 7 days. Then I started feeling hunger, though even once I started feeling hunger, it didn't take much for me to get full. Now I'm 19 days out and I get hungry every 4 to 5 hours, but I'm definitely eating less at meal-time than I did before the band. But I know that this is normal, so I try not to get too upset about it. I won't get good restriction until I've had a few fills, so for now I'm happy where I'm at. But I still have to seriously control myself on the weekend! -

Did they even do anything?
jmegirl replied to MellyB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too! Slight discomfort is all I felt, and that was only the first day or two. I was up walking, and really had no problems to speak of. Getting out of bed first thing in the morning was tough for a few days, but that's just because my muscles in my stomach were tight and I needed a little help. I'm told that I can attribute it mostly to my age. I'm young, so my body tends to bounce back faster than someone, say, twice my age. But I don't know if there's any truth to that. I've been screaming since Day 1 to anyone who will listen to me - The lap band is the best decision I have ever made!:thumbup: -
I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?
jmegirl replied to Cappy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
UGH!:cursing::ohmy: I am so good during the week when I'm working. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. No snacks. And I'm not even hungry, that's the shocker. I still have restriction from surgery, whether it's swelling or something else, I don't know. But during the week I'm really great with my eating plan. Then the weekend hits and I blow it all to hell. I'm not hungry, but I eat anyways. A little here, a little there. I'm eating way too much on the weekends. I've been on full liquids and mushies the last two weeks, but I'm still eating much more than I should. It's like I'm bored so I eat. That's always been my problem, and it's obvious I've still got the problem. What the heck am I gonna do? I need to find a hobby fast. :cool2::cursing:
