Hi, just had to share my new pantry of full liquid foods. Ready for surgery tomorrow 😃. Any suggestions for additions or for puree stage foods in a couple of weeks from now?

Kim, 5 h in car!!! That sounds really rough. I am huge fan of my heating pad on my tummy, helps with that achy feeling

Im working with Mt Auburn in Cambridge MA. They said i could have one cup of coffee if I wanted, so i started with just 2 oz on day 3, then 4 oz. 4 oz seems enough right now to be satisfying, and I drink either black with miralax or mix with 4 oz fairlife elite protein shake (the 46g protein per bottle variety). Im keeping careful notes on everything, looks like Im getting 600-750 calories per day. (Im 5’6”, 254 lb). Soups- i have the broccoli, bacon cheddar, mushroom and cream of chicken. They are all nice and savory and satisfying. Im putting them through seive at this point to not have any little “bits”. The bacon one was great yesterday when my teen was making pepperoni pizza. OMG the smell!!

Glad to hear you are home! I use the bariatric pal instant soups, 15 g protein each. I was told week one full liquids to get 45-64 oz fluid, 40-60 g protein, meals should last 30-60 minutes. Keep sugar <10g per serving, fat<5g per serving. i like all the soups, straining them with seive before eating at this stage. i mixed my miralax with 4oz coffee this morning. At least it hid the taste. Hope all goes well here onwards for you.

@cici88 the four days in the hospital sounds awesome. I just was one night, but now im home i have to be careful not to lift anything too heavy , get my partner to look after the cats etc. Brave of you to go to another country- you are one tough person! Mine was just half hour away from home. Do you get to do any sightseeing with the surgery? Ive heard that people who go to Mexico enjoy their “vacation” time

Nice update! You are doing great! Helpfulfor me to see how life is further along (i just got sleeve on 12/28). What kind of greens powder do you use? -
Im making it through ok, the hunger is much more in my head as a sort of spacey feeling rather than in my stomach. Im working on getting enough calories in. I made a decaf tea latte with fairlife milk which was nice. I was missing coffee!

I way overpacked. Used the grippy slipper socks they gave me, used a second gown as “bathrobe”. Used hairbrush, hair elastic, toothbrush and paste. New Yorker magazine was enough distraction from phone. Left the hospital at noon today. Used a big pillow on car ride home which helped when we went over bumps. -
Hi! Surgery went well, they found hiatal hernia and fixed it. Drinking clear fluids was fine yesterday so will go home today😃

Thanks Spinoza!

Hi Blackginger , my sleeve surgery date is also the 28th. Im also nervous, but keeping in mind i need to do this for long term health. My knees weren’t meant to carry this weight! And my momhas diabetes and high blood pressure. (Only 20 yrs older than me, im 54). Im in the Boston area. Hang in there!!! -
Hi, i just poked around at editing my profile, i could write “about me” but couldn’t see a way either to edit surgery info/date etc. Im not a grandmother yet, but 54 years old, I don’t think it’s an age issue😂 Must be a hidden button somewhere!

I miss baking cookies too this year, but i think it is part of getting to be less food-centered at the holidays. At least my kids are sort of adults (2 of 3 out of house) I persuaded oldest with his girlfriend to host Christmas dinner, and i will make a yule log cake. But that is last day solid food for me.

I just have to do two days full liquids (stage 3), then clear after 8 pm the night before. On my own i am trying to reduce carbs this last two weeks😃- shrinking liver a bit. Im in the Boston area
