  1. I froze several meals in large ice cube trays (walmart). They are 1/2 cup. First was 93% hamburger into taco meat 1/3 cup and topped with 1/8 cup guacamole. The second was Italian ground turkey with marinara topped with a little chickpea spaghetti. Third was cauliflower thins topped in pizza sauce and turkey pepperoni baked 15 minutes and then topped with mozzarella cheese and broiled to melt. I also froze turkey chili. I pop any of my meal cubes in microwave, portion correct, at a moment notice. I have a dozen cubes in each ziplock bag. I have gifted my neighbors most of my pantry, freezer so 90% of my house is good food choices.

Amazing job. I'm just starting gym this week. 10 weeks post op.
  3. I did baby food. turkey and sweet potato was my favorite. Cream of chicken soup made with dry powder milk to add protein.
  4. Finding my thighs don't rub. I have a knee nob, left side is hiding still. Fitting in restaurants booths easily.
  5. My second goal is hoping to be stable enough at goal in a year and have a tummy tuck 6 months later. I'm 10 wks post op and have about 100# to go. Am down #35 down since bypass. Glad to hear posts about post surgery.

    Another not losing post

I'd go back to dietician. Maybe you need to say at soft foods for awhile. Get your protein in.
  7. Just got your all foods, 10 wks postoperative. I'm nervous over no scrpt of foods. But with my measured 1/2 cup meal servings, and a year of Noom preop, I am experiencing a new food each day 80% of good food choices and 20% of higher fat to maintain satiety. I'm lucky I'm a salt snack person over a sweet one. I stalled for 2 weeks and thought that may be due to a cup of popcorn here and there but then a drop of 4.5#. This is an older post but liked the mental discussion of eating. Way overlooked.
  8. I drank 1-2 protein drinks a day.

    Difficulty swallowing pills

I used Chocolate pudding made with dry powder milk to add protein.

    1 Week Stall already!?

After the second stall, 10 weeks post op, see a 4-5# loss afterwards. So am learning patience and making good decisions. Just got to eat all foods and was nervous at first but realize it is still ensured portion control and after a year of Noom, preoperative, will eat good 80% of time, 20% can be higher fat. Still obtaining from anything not zero sugar.

    Just a "small" update lol

I'm 2 months post op and starting the gym this week. Starting 2-3 times a week to start. Thinking of joining a weight loss team. Does uiur nutritionist know you are drinking so much Poweraide and Gatorade daily. I was told 1 a day. But with the amount of exercise you are doing it is okay.
  13. I had my gall bladder removed years before bypass. My Surgery was extended as my rotted gallbladder ate my bile ducts so they gad to create and replace them. I don't remember much pain after 10 days. Maybe you should make a visit to the surgeon or at least family doctor.

Will I ever enjoy eggs again?

9 wks bypass. I haven't had an issue with eggs. I scrambled them or microwave scrambled. Microwaved with dry powdered milk it is like a souffle. I add onions or chives, little cheese, precooked turkey bacon or sausage. But I haven't had problems with any food I've tried. At 6 months I'll trial pasta rice bread.
  15. Going to puree was awesome. I added seasonings into my diet. I pureed meatloaf with a little water and ketchup, Jimmy Dean egg bacon fritatata, curry chicken salad, and later General taos chicken... I tried one spice and food, one of 5 meals a day. Proud that I just got to regular food and no dumping. Trialed some higher fat but everything has been sugarfree. Measuring most everything but getting easier to eyeball.

    Always cold!!!!

9 weeks post op, I started wearing a fleece vest wherever I go as I'm running cold. My son's lake house 20 degrees outside, I wore leggings under my pants. Feet are always frozen. I tended to get hot flashes even post menopausal from Metformin, especially triggered from summer heat. Haven't taken it since surgery). So glad to hear the summer heat will be better. Hopefully between less sweating. Hitting the gym next week so getting the sweating in where it should be. Lol. But with less weight and better fitness, sweating should could be less.

    Head hunger is real....OMG

I am 9 weeks post op and measure everything. 1/3 cup meat and 1/8 cup veggie or potato. 1/2 cup yogurt. Since I just started regular food, I don't want to overeat. I take my 1/2 cup container to restaurants. Measure my food and put rest in to go container. I ask for rice and noodles on the side. I leave these or take home to my neighbor. I have a power aide jug that I refill and try to finish one before noon and 4pm and 9pm.

    Hunger

9 weeks post op bypass and eat every 2 hours. Some meals are processed quickly, scrambled eggs..., so I follow it an hour later with protein shake.
  20. I've always baked my nonfavorite cookies, pies and cakes. Glad my snack leans to salty and have to deal with that temptation.

    Post-op day 3 and struggling

I found warm water, flavored with Skittles zero sugar helped. Sipping every few minutes for 10 minutes. Then again 5 minutes later starting again with zero sugar gatoraide, switching flavors. I set my cell phone timer. 3 weeks I thought I got it down so didn't use timer. Missed some with intake and got constipated. So use my fitbit to acknowledge time, as well as 30 minutes before after meals.

    Difficulty swallowing pills

I couldn't get my crushed Metformin down in my choc pudding after surgery. So I quit taking them as my glucose readings were 90 AC 6.5. Family Dr thought I would be off it after surgery but agreed I could go off early and evaluate with 2 month checkup. Now 7 weeks later had labs done for annual physical. My A1C is 5.3. Had to move Dr appt to January. But feel confident not taking meds since my diabetes is diet controlled.

    Liquid Diet

I made cream of chicken soup with dry powdered milk to add protein. Strained chicken and noodle soup, Campbell and lipton. French onion soup. Skittles zero sugar water additive.
  24. Maybe too much of electrolytes. I was told one Gatorade, powered a day, 28 oz.

    Just curious

I had Bariatric surgery to help me with portion control. While waiting for surgery in pandemic I did Noom. Lost 30# with portion control and 80% good food choices. At 8 wks post op I just started all foods. I'm testing a food each day. I was proud that I haven't had any dumping. I have not tried any high sugar. I still measure what I eat. 1/3 c protein, 1/8 c veggie but once a day it is carb and a fruit. 5 meals, every 2 hours. I just put my goals in Myfitness app to monitor my protein and calories, carbs and fat. It is not a diet anymore, a way of life. Plan to progress to 1 cup by 9 months to one year. Maintain that.
