if it's any reasurance, i can tell you that i felt no restriction until i was at 6cc, my surgeon does all my fills myself and i feel very confident that he's doing them properly. i expressed my concern with him with i got in the 5cc range and had no restriction as well, and he said that everyone is different, i was worried about a leak, and he said take some time, and come back in 2 weeks, well now i have restriction. he also told me that because i was not as heavy as most of his pacients that my band was loose when he placed it and that could be a contribuiting factor to why it took so long for me to get restriction, he also said i will prob never reach 8.5cc so hopefuly things will work out now. with that all being said i just went in for another fill last week and i feel like i got more of an unfill than a fill, don't know why but i'm going back next wednesday to have him tweak it. just work with your band, remember it's a tool, and try to have pacients.

Ok... so... i just got my 2nd fill yesterday 10/15 and today, i have an extremely sore throat, congestion, ect. ect. anyways, my question is does anyone have any suggestion of what i might be able to take? My dr told me to not take my regular tylonol for 3 - 4 days, so to me that means i can't take regular cold medicine either... any good liquid medicines out there other that cough meds. Thanks!

Question for everyone, and before you say it, I know i should consult my Dr. and I will, but i wanted to find out everyone elses opinion. Ok, so next weekend i will be 3 1/2 weeks post op, do you think it's ok to go to six flags and enjoy some roller coasters? Also has anyone gone and been or or had any problems? Let me know... Thanks!

Ok... so my surgery is this thursday 8/28, i enjoy working out and have already lost 9lbs on my pre-op diet... So my question is... i starting at 247lbs and now at 238, is it an unrealistic goal to want to be under or at 200lbs by christmas? Let me know what yall think, or what your weight loss was within a 3-4 month period of time. Thanks!

i wouldn't think so exp because that has to do with your lungs not your stomach, now if you get sick and throw up that different

Need help from Fort Worth, Texas
Kickash73 replied to jmh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i would NOT suggest dr barker, my first consult was there and while he and his staff behind doors was ok, the office staff was extremely rude, also when you get there the expect to wait an additional 3 so if your appointment is at 3 (like mine was) i didn't get into a room until 6 and didn't get to see the dr until 6:30... that was a HUGE turnoff i actually just had surgery today, and while everyone thinks their dr is the best i'll tell you that i agree, i think my dr is the best, he's the head of the weight loss surgery program for baylor, and i was cash pay as well. I'm going through the grapevine center because that closest to my house, but because i'm cash pay he does your surgery at irving so that he can give you a "package price" apposed to where you would pay the surgen, then the hospital, then the anistegolist and so on, but your fills and followups are at the baylor closest to you. i payed 15000, that includes surgery, fills for life, and nurictionst for as long as you need, and any addition bills you may have for pre testing is taken off the top of the price. My surgery went well, i'm in minimum pain and have very small cuts. His name is Dr. Sina Matin, very knowlageable and very very nice, he doesn't bull shit he'll tell you like it is and gives you 100% of his support. If you would like anymore info you can private message me if youd like. Good luck in your search and i hopethis helps P.S. Turns out i had a herna and he fixed it while i was in surgery no extra charge -
Ok... so tomorrow is my surgery... 10am and i'm SOOOO excited, but at the same time having some fears... so i hadn't even heard of this until i got on this site, but i've seen several people that have had there surgery postponed due to a "fatty liver" and i'm totally scared that i'm going to go in tomorrow and thats going to be me. I've lost 11lbs on my preop and not gonna lie i cheated the 2nd day but have been super strict on it since. Does any one know how many people this actually happenes to, and are they people that just do not follow there diet hardly at all or could it happen to anyone? I continue to look on the bright side and hope and pray that this doesn't happen to me but i can't help but have it in the back of my mind. Wish me luck!! I'll update tomorrow to let you know what happenes!
