Hello to all, I had my LB surgery on Oct. 24, and had my first fill Nov. 17, it did not hurt at all, in fact I ask the Doctor are you already though? He put 3cc in my band and told me to be on protien shakes ,Water,crystel light for at least 3 days and that I was doing great, I have lost 15 pounds since my surgery, LOVE MY BAND God Bless bradley18:thumbup:

Good moring to all, Had my surgery 10-24-08, doing really good, have not had any problems, started my soft foods this morning, i had a soft scrambled egg and two crips pieces of bacon. every thing went down real well, I have not had a fill yet, go back to see Dr. Nov. 17, my problems is I need to start excerising, I just can't get into that mode. I have finally been approved by my insurance co. My LBS date is Oct. 24, I start my pre-op diet on the 14 of Oct. I have been told that the protein shakes my Dr. gives you has a nasty taste. Can anyone tell me one of your favorites? Keep me in your prayers, I hope I can do this bradley18:thumbup: -
Hi Catherine. You are such a beautiful young lady, I say go for it. I am 65 yrs. old and have a liver problem, but my Dr. advised me to have the LBS to improve my liver, it's called a fatty liver but mine has developed into cirrosis, any way my LBS is Oct. 24, one day after you, I'm a little scared too, but I want to live a long and healthy life and if this is what it takes I'm willing to do it.
I have been married for 50 yrs. to a wonderful man, I promised to love him, care for him, and raise our children to the best of my ability, I have done this, so I think I can change my life style for the remainder of my life. I just feel so blessed.
Good luck to you on Oct. 23, just have faith and everything will turn out just great.

I will be having my surgery Oct. 24, and I start my pre-op diet on the 14th, my Dr. is Warnock, from Wichita Falls, Texas, I have been told that the kind of protien he puts you on is really bad tasteing. I am also concerned about what kind of things I can have during the 10 days of pre-op, if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate hearing form you. bradley18:thumbup: -

Hello from Texas, I will be banded on Oct. 24, I'm 65 yrs. old, but I won't to remain looking young as long as I can. HA HA, I hope I can do this, I don't think I'm to Old.:thumbup: bradley18

Hello Everyone, I am a 65 yr old female that just received notice yesterday that my insurance has approved my lap band, I have a date of Oct. 24, I really need everyone's prayers. I have a liver condition called NASH which has turn into cirrhosis, my gastro dr. advised me to get the proceduer, he said it would help my liver. Has anyone ever heard of this? any way I need to lose about 45 pounds in order to be a little bit more healthy. bradley18:thumbup: -

Hope all is going well with you, I'm still waiting to hear from my insurance, so my lab band has not been sch. let me know how you are doing and is it going to be worth it. your beautiful picture tells me you don't have a lot to lose. I'm a 65 yr. old female that needs to lose about 50 pounds, I have a not so good liver and my Dr. said the LB would help my liver, lets hope so.

It took me 3 weeks to figure this tickler out, but go to tickerfactory.com choose your favorite path way, then your marker, fill in the information needed with a passwork that you can remember, go down to CODE BBwith your mouse drag the mouse to highlight entire box, then you right click on your mouse, a box will come up and you left click:tt2: COPY, then go back to lapbandtalk, on the right side of the screen click on EDIT PROFILE, then on the left side click on EDIT SIGNATURE, then you will see the Code bb box that you highlighted, put your mouse on the box with that information and right click your mouse, you will see PASTE, then left click on that, go down to VIEW SIGNATURE, click on that and the ticker should be there. then you want to click on SAVE SIGNATURE. WHEW IT'S A TRICKY ONE. hope this helps. bradley18:tt2::biggrin:

Hi, I also have NAFLD, and my GI Dr. advised me to have the lap band proceduer, my liver has become cirrhosis, he said it would help the liver to have the LB, well I still not sure, I need to lose 45 pounds, but if you read some of the post, it will scare you to death, some of the people have a lot of trouble, and I don't need any trouble, exspecially with my liver. A few question, did your GI Dr. advise you to have the LP? and are your AFT & ALT numbers good? Keep me posted, I'm waiting to hear from my insurance, and if they will pay, I must make a choice. Hi Birdie, I am waiting to hear back from my insurance, I have completed all of my requirement, but I have been reading the post on this site, I am seeing how they eat, so I have been trying to cut back and start drinking the protien drinks. I have had thoughts that I better eat all I can now because soon i wont be able to eat very much, try eating from a small plate, and when you go out to eat share a plate with some one in your family, or get a to go plate and take the rest of your food home with you, eat it later or the next day. Drink lots of Water, even crystle light is good. Stay in there and dont get discouraged. Your friend Bradley18 -
Dr. Schulman, I have been advised to have the lap band proceduer, I need to lose about 50 pds., my problem is that I have NASH, and it has turned into cirrhosis, I want to make sure this is not going to hurt my liver anymore than it already is, any information would be appreicated. Bradley 18
