  1. Yes, I haven't started my pre-op diet yet but it will most likely be all liquids! That is what mine is. Some doctors say lean Proteins and some veggies but it's all up to the doctor. My surgeon told me yesterday that I only have to be on pre-op liquids for 2-3 days prior but some people are up to 2-3 weeks. It all depends. I would just wait until you get the packet from your doctor but you most likely will start to lose weight during your pre-op phase. I hope that helps!
  2. Ok, so it wouldn't let me update the poll so I just say we go with March Melters then if anyone wants to put additional stuff on there they can. How does that sound?
  3. I will only be on a 2-3 day liquid diet to shrink the liver a little. The surgeon said I didn't need to do the 2 week thing cause I'm not big enough. I did lose 4 lbs since the last time I went to the surgeon and I didn't even try!

  4. Hey everyone, I posted a poll on the March 09 folder under forum. I am going to go and try to add mini-marchers and March Maniacs. Please go vote!
  5. That was exactly my issue. I was at a BMI of 41 at the time I decided to look into surgery and then I got the devastating news...with my insurance I had to be at 40 or higher for at least 2 years if I had no co-morbidities. They would have accepted me if I had been DIAGNOSED with other issues. I have high blood pressure (yesterday was 160/106) but have never taken meds for it. I have had high blood sugar but the doctor always just told me to lose weight. I hit a wall every time and I just got tired of it. Who knows, don't let my story discourage you...your insurance might be different than mine. That is just my experience, it isn't law! I'm praying for you, let me know how it goes!
  6. OMG!!! YAY that is so exciting! I went for my second consultation yesterday and got all my questions answered. We are only going to be a few days apart. I am having mine on 3/8. How long do you have to be on the pre-op diet?

Looks like I'm a March bandster

YAY for us all. I'm March 8th!

    I need your support!!

Fairydust/Bella, Have you ever thought about going to see a nutritionist? I think it would really help give you some ideas. I have been going to Overeaters Anonymous since September and it has put me in a really good place to get banded in March and not have to worry that my eating habits are going to be super out of whack. Again, this is just my experience but I really think they have helped. Also, what about a personal trainer at the gym? That might work.
  9. That's awesome! I don't know about you but I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. I'm making lists and counting down on the calendar and I'm just going kinda crazy. I have to get an endoscopy instead of an upper GI and I just scheduled that for 2/14...what a good way to spend Valentine's Day! Where are you having your surgery at? I am self paying cause insurance wouldn't approve me as I don't have any co-morbidities. It kinda sucks to have to pay that large amount of money but I know it will be well worth it and I can't wait!
  10. HaHa, I don't know why I just assumed everyone was female. I'm sorry! I like March Melters...!
  11. I know there are some Protein bullets that I have bought from www.fitnessfirstusa.com and the product # is 9938 in the quick shop area. They are $56.00 for 24 vials and they are 3oz that deliver 42g of protein. They come in about 4-5 flavors and I haven't tried them yet but will let you know how they taste when I do get them. I also know that there are shakes that Trader Joe's sells that have 35g of protein and not too much sugar. You might try those if you don't want to order the bullets. :cursing:
  12. That's awesome! So you might not be a March Bandster? We just came up with our name...The March Melters!

I grew up in Sacramento and came down here (to Pomona) for college in 2000. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 2005 with a double major in International Business and Marketing Management. Once I graduated I moved back to Sacramento and started working for Bank of America. In 2007 I moved back to LA (Pasadena) because I was offered a really nice promotion. I work in Business Banking (sales) and I absolutely love it! I have told some of my friends and I've told my immediate family but there are definiely some people I haven't and will not tell. I just don't want to hear them ask me about progress and stuff...I just told my boyfriend last night and he was so supportive! I was shocked. I thought he was going to say...I like you just the way you are.

What do you do? I see a graduation pic...

Are you telling people? If not, why not?

  13. Do they hurt? My surgeon (I've heard) doesn't do local anesthetic or any numbing meds before he does the fills...how much is that going to hurt? When should I get my first fill if my surgery is scheduled for 3/8?
  14. I LOVE IT!!!!! What do you all think????

    Constipation

Is anyone getting bad cramping from the 'extra help'? I am always afraid of that when I take anything to move things along...
  16. How soon can they get you in for surgery once you have approval? Where are you having your surgery at? Maybe we will be close to the same day! That would be so awesome. Like a lapband twin!

  17. I am so excited! I only chose the Irish stuff cause of March. I can't wait! You are so close to me! How long until you get your approval back?
