Shopping for clothes! It is so depressing to have to get larger and larger sizes. Also, I do not like to wear anything too reveiling and at 44, that is difficult, since I live in HOTlanta! I am looking forward to wearing different clothes!:wink2:

I am using Dr. Steinberg as well. All information to office 08/22 Surgery date TBD

:tt2: I am still waiting. I think I will call Shawna, she is the new patient coordinator for Dr. Steinberg. I am really getting antsy. I need to just relax, right? I have not really done much in the way of behavior mod. for the new life I will have. I think it is all still a dream, that it may or may not really happen. I don't want to get my hopes up and then get disappointed! That would suck. I am just tired of being this big! Yes I can diet, but I will loose and gain and loose and gain!! My husband is supportive...although he wants me to try dieting "one more time". I told him, it has not worked in the past 20 years, so I cannot imagine that it will work now, nothing is different.

Hello everyone! I am a newbie, just cruising the forum and was delighted to see a GA group. I have done all the MD visits and am anxiously awaiting the "okay". from insurance. My fingers are crossed. :cursing:

Well:eek:, I am very nervous! I have BCBS of RI and everything has been submitted to my physician, Dr. Steinberg as of today. Now, I have to wait to hear from the insurance company. I have heard that Shawna is very good at getting everything together for the office. I really hope to get approval. I started this whole journey on 05/15/08, when I went to the information meeting. Since then, I have done all of the footwork. The psych clearence took the longest, which is no surprise. I do have issues with food.:tongue2:, obviously. I want to do everything correctly this time. Which includes going to meetings and continuing with my therapy. I think the excercise and diet stuff will be easy, compared to that. tick tock.......

Sherri- BCBS is Blue cross Blue shield, my insurance. I just got a call from my md office and everything is in, she is going to get things together and send it all in, wish me luck!!:smile2:

lindata- My psych clearence just went thru yesterday, so they will most likely submit the paperwork next week... I heard BCBS of RI gives an answer in 24 hours, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for the end of Sept.

Thanks! That really helps. My BMI was 39.4 in 2003 amd 40+ since then...that is another concern, it has not been at 40+ for a full 5 years, are they really picky?

Yes, I agree that it is important to follow the food plan. She gave us a formula to follow which tells us how much protien we need to have daily. It sounds like the Protein intake is crucial. I just am concerned about the hunger pangs? Any of that for you? If so, how did you handle that? My concern is that if I feel hungry, I may overeat just to get rid of that feeling. And I know that could be dangerous! My understanding is that when the band is placed, the MD does not fill at that time, you have to go in later for that. I have a long way to go, I need to loose 115lbs!! Thanks for responding, this is very helpful.

:redface:Well, Not everything, at least not yet. I will tell you where I am. I have a PPO BCBS of RI and they do cover bands. I have everything done and am awaiting the office to submit to the ins. company. Which ins did you have, did you have any issues/problems with ins? I went to a dietician as part of the whole pre-approval. I really am confused about what I can eat. She really had the plan directed for the Roux-en-Y folks. So after banding, I will really need your help. I am just so nervous and would appreciate any and all advise.
