I am still in the waiting stage. :confused2: I am not sure if Shawna sumbitted the paperwork yet, she may wait until today to send it in. I have been reading posts, blogs and watching Youtube posts. I am trying not to get too anxious about this. At this point it is not in my hands, I really need to have faith that whatever decision is made, I will have to accept it and go on to the next step. Even with the surgery, I will have to make sure I follow the plan to the letter. I have to make a commitment, really to myself and know that I am doing the best thing for me.:tt2:

Anne- I am pretty much in the same boat as you are. I am a NP, 43. I have no children, I have only been married for 3 years. We went through the infertility thing and I was told I was just too heavy to even be considered. I accepted that. I lost 30lbs only to gain 40 back! I am so over being overweight! I wish you the best, let me know how things turn out for you. Sue

I agree with Lanakila, this is a great oppertunity to get rid of any and all bad habits. I think a drink in the future will be fine, but, not right now when you are trying to establish a new, healthier lifestyle. -

Hi everyone, I have changed my mind again! When I first attended the seminar in May, I was convinced that I would get the lapband or realize band. I really would like to have the surgery and be done with it, no returning for fills or anything. Also, I am prediabetic and my whole family on mom's side is diabetic. RNY is a CURE for diabetes, so I am going with that. The paperwork will be submitted to the ins. co. today, so now it is a waiting game.

I loved your You Tube post. There were so many things you said that I can identify with.
The whole scale issue is one. I get so obsessed with that thing. Right now I am between 268-270, depending on when I weigh. I told my husband I am going to put the scale away if and when I have surgery. ( I am still waiting to hear from insurance). The scale can really mess with my head! I try to avoid it when I am dieting mainly because, if I am up or down, that can basically change my mood for the day.
How is the pre-op diet going for you? I look forward to your youtube post on 08/31.
