  1. Hey guys just a little backstory, I was sleeved 2017 and lost 100lbs but due to bad habits creeping in have regained most of it back 5 years now. I just had my consultation with the doctor and I’m getting revised to mini bypass. I’m excited and hoping to lose about 100lbs. Looking for others who may have gone through this revision.
  2. I am 7 months post op from my revision from sleeve to MGB and weight loss is at 85.5 pounds after surgery on 11/2022. I was just diagnosed with Follicular Thyroid Cancer and in the works of getting answers as to what the next steps are. My question is I am wondering if anyone has gone through this with weight loss surgery. If life is relatively the same and will losing weight be the same so long as I continue with the gym and my meal plans.

    Stall?

Sounds like you were lucky to not have hit a stall until now. Just stick to your plan, measure your meals as to not overeat, I don't believe you have stretched out your stomach.
  6. Yes, I completely understand. My heart goes out to you, I hope it gets better for you too. Yes, fried foods are banned but I'd use a bit of olive oil to cook my egg and that was all it took to get me incredibly sick. I have to grill everything and make sure the fat content is not too high or else it makes me feel horrible. I was a comfort eater too, everything revolved around food. Celebrations, accomplishments, sadness all of it. Now I put a lot of energy into the gym to fill my time, and if I'm bored, I'll go to the gym anytime to help ward off the idle hands. I don't mourn food anymore, like you I eat to survive not for pleasure, but I enjoy the healthy choices I make now.
  7. I am 4 months post op and I had a rough time the first month too. My sensitivity is to fried foods which ultimately is a good thing for me, that was my weakness in my past life, now I avoid it at all costs. I was incredibly constipated up until recently, I started feeling more regular now. It’s just my belief, things DO get better.
  8. Thanks! I was a sleeve revision to mini bypass at 286 and thankfully its really moving so far
  9. I was a revision which means weight loss is slower, but I am 5'4" and started my journey at 286 lbs and today I am 246.3. I am 1-month post-op. I'm using the 3 patches that the bypass patients use plus one multivitamin.
  10. So, update as this Thursday is 1-month post-op. As it turns out I was prepared for the sleeve surgery but mine was very different. I know that everyone's experience is different, here is mine. I woke up in quite a bit of pain and was a little surprised because a lot of people say their MGB didn't hurt but mine did. I got my walking in and slept, handled the sips of water at first and then the jello okay. I couldn't finish a whole cup but still good. Recovery was okay for the most part, but I didn't take it easy as I got home and was cooking dinner every day for 10 days straight. At exactly 10 days post op I began to feel a bad stitch of pain on my left side behind where the drain had been. At this point my wounds are closing well. I notice that it hurt if I laid on my back and tried to bend at all to my left but also if I turned to the right it felt like a rock was on my side. Long story short I took to Facebook and learned that it was common, and people referred to it as the b***h stitch, so I ignored it. The pain got so bad that I just couldn't, I went to see my doctor and turns out it's an infection. 🤦‍♀️ So he put me on a strong antibiotic and now here I am, nearing my 1 month post op and still feeling pain but it is definitely more manageable. Everyday is better and better. I have a lot of restriction and am just learning my body's was of saying enough. My HW 286, SW 274, CW 250 I am very optimistic that this was the way to go but complications happen unfortunately.

    Why sleeve to mini bypass?

I am revising to MGB tomorrow due primarily to weight loss. I never had issues with GERD or heartburn. I didn't take care of my sleeve and when I tried getting back to basics 5 years out it just didn't quite work, I just couldn't lose more than a couple pounds. I went to my surgeon in Mexico to see if a resleeve were the way to go but he advised against it for me. He said MGB is way less invasive and will really help me with the weight loss I'm hoping for. I am self pay so after a lot of research I am doing what seems best for me.
  12. Wow! Well I was going to opt for the resleeve but my doctor recommended against it for the amount of weight I need to drop. My big day is coming up, I’ll share updates as I go along.

Just revised from Sleeve to MGB

I was sleeved at 293 back in 2017 I lost 100 lbs within 6 months and unfortunately most of my hair in the process. I didn’t cope with things properly and here I am 5 years later weighing 286. I am scheduled for a revision to MGB this Thursday so here’s hoping I get this right! I’m going to follow these rules
