Good luck naomi and Nick!! i am so nervous!! leaving tomorrow afternoon so not long now!!! Naomi i have just packed some cuppa soups (chicken and leek cos no big bits in it!) and waterproof dressings, desolvable painkillers (great ones that flirtylass recommended! nurofel meltlets! Just put them on your tongue and the dissolve! no need for water!) bringing 2 tracksuits for afterwards, babywipes for hospital to freshen up and comfy trainers for walking the wind off!! LOL! HAVE A SAFE JOURNEY BOTH OF YOU!! SEE YOU BRUSSELS! Well done!! you must have been very good! i hope i do as well as you have. i leave for Brussels on Sunday! get butterflies just thinking about it!! Frederiks gonna see me early in the morning at the hotel on Monday so that means i can bring my parents sightseeing for the day! looking forward to it cos i might not feel upto it after the op! still i am going with hubby again at end of October for my fill , it will be more of a break then !! HI Naomi and Nick!! i leave on Sunday!! yikes! i keep having nightmares too Naomi! but i'm sure that's natural ?? as for the pre-op both of you - well i have been terrible this last few days! i did really well last week but this week i have slipped up with a few sneaky snacks and i even had fish and chips on Sunday!! Aghhhhhhhh! i have somehow managed to lose 8lb and dispite my pitfalls i haven't put any back on again. still it's not the weight loss he is interested in is it? just have to hope my liver isn't in too bad a condition! Thats a pity about the campanile Nick. how are you going to get back to your hotel after surgery? Don't forget to bring loose clothes for afterwards cos aparently your stomach is very swollen afterwards with the gas! Don't worry Naomi i am sure we will find each other! besides we will probably meet in the hospital! i get discharged at 1pm the day you are admitted! CAN ANYONE OFFER ADVICE? I have just booked flights for the end of october for my first fill (thought i'd combine it with a break with hubby!). This time i have booked flights to Charleroi airport (brussels south). i know there is a shuttle bus to brussels city centre. but that is quite far from Dr de Bruynes offices! i would prefer to stay central this time for sight seeing! just wondering though if any of you know of a hotel near vilvoorde that offers a shuttle bus into the city centre? not keen on trains! have a bit of a phobia!

Hi Becky! i haven't forgotton!! you get banded tomorrow!! I'm sure you are so excited! are you feeling well prepared and how did your pre-op go?? I'm glad your mum will be with you to help you recover:thumbup: I still have 12 days to operation although i fly out to Belgium in 10 days! hi Miss J.J ! Have a lovely time in Belgium!! wow 7ccs?? did you get double fills each time? Hi Naomi! I am on the pre-op too! hold in there! not long to go now. i found the first few days awful and just kept thinking about food constantly! I am finding it so much easier now and the weight is starting to move. don't be too harsh on yourself! i keep a bag of cadburys buttons in the car! if i get a craving for chocolate i just put one button on my tongue and let it melt slowly lol!! It works! I was using the shakes the first couple of days, but found that they really don't satisfy me at this stage. maybe it be different after the op! so instead i just sticking to high Protein - lots of chicken and beef! and low carbs, fat and sugar. oh and loads of water!! good luck!! not long now til we both in Brussels! angie xx

Thanks Ursula! It is so good to be able to get first hand advice from you! Just wondering? What time did the taxi arrive at the hotel the morning of your surgery? And did Frederik have that all sorted as promised? Also had you already made arrangements as to what time Frederik would be at your hotel the day you arrived? How are you finding the liquids? are you feeling full or thinking about food all day? i am doing the pre op diet and like you i am really struggling! does it feel easier now the band is in? and what kind of food are you able to eat at the minute? Imagine 10lb down already!!! i can't imagine i will do as well as that! you must be really pleased ! well done flirty! i can't wait to be on your side of the operation! Angie xx

hi, can anyone tell me if their band has ever set the security alarms off at the airport?? The booklet that Frederik gave me said that you can get a card to carry that says you are a lap band patient. Has anyone got one of these and if so, where can i get one? Thanks guys Angiex

Thanks Miss J.J Yeh i figure that i am feeling healthier than ever these days! i'm off the cigarettes for 4 weeks now!! don't miss them a bit and feel great without them! i have been watching my food intake over the last week and from today will be more rigid with the pre -op diet. My emotions are all over the place though in regards to the band!! one minute i think i can't wait and the next i think 'what am i doing??' ! Hi Terri! I went to see dr chris today too for my first consultation, but he hadn't arrived yet when i got there so i saw frederik instead ! Not sure if i met you? i met Brenners too who is looking fabulous and great advertisement for the band!!!! If you don,t mind me asking? was it dr chris that did your surgery? Angie x

Thank you Miss j j and also Englishrose for your kind advice and concern! I had my consultation today, but dr chris hadn't arrived yet so it was Frederik that i saw. It was a bit of a worldwind to be honest! he showed me the band and explained the ins and out of the operation etc but didn't weigh me or take my bloodpressure or anything medical????? i never even got to mention my liver test and health issues didn't seem to be the topic?? to be honest i was a bit surprised but didn't really have time to think about it til i had left! And in reality i could have just saved the 120 euro and train fayre and waited to see dr chris in brussels!! I think i will talk to my own doctor next week (shes on a weeks holiday!) see what she thinks. Thanks again girls! your support is much appreciated! ANGIE X

Yeh i think i have kind of come to that conclusion too! if it were very serious i think my doctor would have asked for more indepth tests and she knows about my operation coming up - so i guess if she not that worried then i needn't be! think i will just keep it to myself then!! How are you getting on with the band?? you have done great to have lost so much weight in only 3 weeks!! well done!!!!!!! thanks for your help!! :party: Angie x

yeh ! i think i am trying to run before i can walk lol!! Probably best just to wait the 6 weeks then. Might consider going over to Belgium for the fill though cos it is only working out 250 euro for 2 flights (hubby and me), hotel for 1 night and fill!! will see what dr chris' available dates are over the half-term break and surprise hubby! i am so excited! Bit worried though cos my liver function tests came back yesterday and my doctor says that they are very very slightly raised! probably due to the bloodpressure medication. do you think this would stop him operating?? i started the pre-op a week early and have lost about 6lb now and still have 2 weeks left. Should i tell dr chris or do you think it nothing to worry about? angie xx
