I am so glad I read this. I feel great too! Been on mushies since Wednesday, surgery was 2/26. I have lost 31 lbs since 1/1/09 (first surgery cancelled on 1/15, stayed on liquids to ensure liver shrinkage) and I am really starting to feel good again. Glad to read everyone is doing so well! Congrats folks, I am 6 lbs down since surgery (2/26) and the doc today told me to up my protien and calories...now I can go on walks...back to work Thursday but seriously, I loved the time off! Tell me more about the pinto and cheese from Taco Bell, it sounds like a nice treat! I start purees tomorrow...been eating cream soup, popsicles, yogurt, protien shakes, etc...any other suggestions? It must depend on the doctor. My doctor still hasn't cleared me to drive! I had my surgery on 2/26. I am still home but am working from home. I go back tomorrow and should be cleared to go back. I am going back on 3/12. -
Oh no, I am sorry, I lost that much since I started my liquids on 1/1/09, + gym before surgery. Didn't mean to mislead, my first surgery was cancelled, which was scheduled for 1/15. I stayed on the liquids until my reschedule date of 2/26.

mjg, I was wondering, I was banded feb 26th 09. You have lost 28 pounds since you got banded..I have only lost 15, How did you lose so muh weight..It seems like I am stayin at 194 not losing anymore, and I am still doing the liquid diet thing...Will it come off more and more..Or did your dr give you a fill right after your surger, I was curious, I didnt get a fill after surgery my dr said most ppl are to swollen and I wouldnt have been able to drink anything...What diet are you on as well?? Thks Sommer

Alcohol. When are we able to drink again...obviously I am not talking about getting drunk, but what about a casual drink? I was banded a week ago and I know this is way too soon, but I am a single gal who likes to go out (which probably got me here in the first place, bars and greasy bar food!) and I was curious to find out how long people waited to try a drink again. Surgery Wed, 3/4 and I'm so afraid

I was fine until I got into anesthesiology, then I started crying uncontrollably. I wasn't worried about the surgery, I was realizing that after this, I have NO EXCUSES anymore, that I won't be the lovable fat girl, I won't hide behind joking about my weight, etc, and that it what made me sad. The surgery is nothing, yes, it is painful, but after all the pre-op testing, counceling, etc, we are all ready...so don't worry!! I am one week out and I feel great! I am sick of liquids, too. I have a 1/4 cup of cottage cheese for lunch, which I chew up...but I just overdid my dinner cream soup, now I feel yucky and have a dull headache... Melanie banded 2/26/09 -
