  1. Happy 45th Birthday AudreyE!

  2. Happy 44th Birthday AudreyE!

  3. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary AudreyE!

  4. I'm so glad someone else has this problem... I'm a firefighter paramedic, and lifting 300 pound patients and dragging water-logged hoselines is an everyday thing... To add insult to injury, if I'm out for more than a week for medical reasons, I'm required to go on short-term disability, which only pays me 65 percent of my salary, sigh.... Audrey
  5. Thanks! Three weeks is better than four, or five, or six, I guess... but either way I'd have to go on short-term disability, which is 65 percent of my salary, so I was curious ... thanks! Audrey
  6. Oh, good to know! thanks! Audrey
  7. Thank you everyone for your promp and helpful replies! My insurance covers the hernia, but not the band, so I figured the more I could get done at once, the better... Thanks! Audrey
  8. Thank you for your helpful reply. Do (did) you do a lot of patient lifting? Audrey
  9. As I consider the lap band, I am wondering about recovery time. I am a firefighter/paramedic, and strenuous lifting/bending is part of my job description. Am I doomed to weeks and weeks out of work? Audrey
  10. I am looking into the band, but at the same time I have an abdominal hernia that I need to get handled. It seems to me that getting both done at once would a) save money, and  save going under general anesthesia twice. Is that something that's possible? Or am I dreaming? Audrey
