  1. Hi all, I was banded last month in Mexico by Dr. Ortiz. Great expericence and I am healing up beautifully. Looks like I will have to go to the Fill Center USA in Troy Michigan. Any one else out there from the GTA or on the way to Windsor interested in sharing the gas costs and a ride to get a fill in late October? I will do the driving but would love the company of another Bander. If we could get co-ordinated on getting fills done in Michigan, it might save a few of us some money. I have a van and the more the merrier.:tt1: Cheers, KIM

The results of this poll reflect the violence of your Ameriacan society. Just take a look at American TV and the fact that you rush to war at the drop of a hat.

    Should I Do It????

I am 45, been on anti-depressants off and on for years. Food is an addiction and it is a vicious cycle. I vote you really take a good look at getting a band. I just go mine on Aug.27 and I feel a real sense of peace knowing that I am not alone in the fight anymore. I have a little "cop" inside of me that is going to help me move forward and gain control of my addiction. If I can come off of my meds too, that will be a big bonus. Since being banded I have already dropped my dose and I feel fine. Everything in life happens for a reason and maybe your DR. suggesting this at this time was the universes way of throwing you a life preserver. My 3 Daughters are soooo proud that I have taken this step. Therapy is great but I have been there and done that with 4 different councellors over the years, not one of them was ever able to give me the answer. Your own free will is yours entirely. Best of luck, and just know that you can change your life if it is your wish to do so! KIM

    Depression after surgery.

I guess I am ahead of this Depression curve, being fat and other dysfunctional family type issues has already made me depressed. I have been on anti-depressants for about a year and a half and I gotta tell you, they are partly the reason that I could pull my head out of my you know what and pursue getting the surgery done! If you really feel you need it, there is no shame in taking this issue up with your family Doctor. Mine has been very surpportive in monitering my depression and the medication helps me function without dragging myself around feeling awful and having a lot of negative thoughts. KIM
