  1. Always a subject that no one wants to talk about but here goes...I was alway regular but now everything seems to be moving way slower and way more difficult to move out. I have tried softners and they sort of work but it still feels like a brick. I drink 40-70 oz of Water but doesn't seem to help. Since this diet is more Protein it most likely is because that has a natural way of blocking everything up. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem and what they are doing to help minimized the effect.

    Bodybugg users report here!

I wore the band 24/7 including sleep time -- my band told me how efficient my sleep was and that was/is important to losing weight. If you are not resting you will not lose weight. It doesn't really effect the data just give you a bit more.

    Bodybugg users report here!

I initially and continued to wear it 24/7 and connected it daily but after I got used to it I only connected it when the battery wore down. I never owned the watch band that showed you instantly. But after you start to learn your body you will know whether or not you did our calorie burn. Good luck

    United Healthcare Denial?

I have UHC and had no problem with approval. I had my diet history for the past 10-15 years of ups and downs in weight loss. My BMI was over 40 and I had no co-condiitons. I was approved first time out. I needed to do nothing else for the insurance company . However, I had to do lots for the doctor (ie sleep study, psychologist etc.) I first saw my doctor on September 14 2008 and had the surgery on November 6th 2008.
  5. I am a 49 year old mother of two teenagers and I am located in Eastlake ohio and looking for same -- I am still on my original weight loss journey and having some difficulty staying focused. Have had 3 fills to date. Still getting hungry when I shouldn't. Haven't worked out in about 2 months -- first from a surgery that I had (not lapband) and my daughters karate schedule. Now that is done my goal is to get started again and focused. I know what it is like to need the push and have the accountability to someone to stay focused.
  6. Seeking a buddy for workouts and just general support. I live in Willoughby Ohio area. I have a membership to Ballys and just looking for someone to workout with -- kinda boring to go there by myself.
  7. Seeking a workout buddy for the Willoughby ohio area. Have a membership to Bally's looking for someone to work out with. Can workout most evenings.
  8. Not sure if this has happened to anyone -- I believe that there is something stuck in pouch but not in band -- it keeps trying to go down but it won't -- it won't come up either. Not sliming either. Not sure what to do -- it isn't painful but it is uncomfortable. Not hungry either (a plus) Thanks

    Bodybugg users report here!

That is exactly like the "GoWearFit" band that I have. I have been using it for about 2 months. In fact that is what the Biggest Loser people use. It is the same manufacuter Body Media but it costs more. A little more web stuff but not sure if it is worth the additional cost. Mine was 150 for the band and 7.00 per month for online support.

    Anybody with a hiatal hernia?

I have a floating one and when they placed the band the hernia seemed to stabilze. It is no big deal but necessary so you don't have big problems. On a personal note -- the acid reflux problems are now all gone after they placed the band. No more any type of pills to correct.

Not Losing. . . except my mind.

I was banded on November 6th and have lost about 30 pounds -- very, very slowly. Had my first fill and had it done in radiology with the doctor. Feel the restriction. Have had some difficulty with drinking too soon after eating-- felt the food go through the band -- I know that is not good -- am losing at the 1-2 pound per week rate mostly the one pound rate. I know it did not go on over night and will not go off over night but sometimes I wish it would just move it. I am exercising by riding the recumbent bike 7-10 miles per day about 6 days a week but somedays I just don't want to. Clothing size has dropped one good size and working on the second one -- I am a emotional and a bored eater -- trying to replace the bad eating with good eating but it is sooo hard.

    Cleveland R U there????

I live in Lake County as well. I was just banded by Dr. Leena Khaitian out of Geauga Medical Center (Part of UH). The dr and her staff are simply perfect. Being that Geauga is a small hospital you definately don't feel like a number.
  20. Oh Shit -- just realized that it is tomorrow ! Feeling nervous and excited and don't even want to go all clear today but will do it. Hoping everyting will go without a hitch. Can't see why it won't.
  21. My surgery is tomorrow November 6th -- All the emotions are hitting hard -- want this -- don't want this -- want to eat real food instead of liquid nuts (even ate eggs this morning -- just wanted something to chew lightly) Now on my stuff again. Just want to get this started and done mostly !
  22. Everyone and every doctor is different ! We all can do this -- We must remember that we did not get this way over night it took 2-4 pounds a month for years to get here and it might as well fall off the same way! Maybe we won't EVER let this happen again. Here is to all of us! Let us get through this with every piece of help we can get !

    Cleveland, Ohio - any suggestions?

I am scheduled with Dr. Leena Khaitian out of Geauga Medical Center on This Thursday at 12:30. They are part of University hopsitals and university is the best in the Cleveland area for this. My doctor has been in Cleveland for sometime and she was brought in by UH to start the center in Geauga (Chardon). She is wonderful as well as all of her staff. I would recommend them if you are not too far from them. I live in Eastlake. My journey has been for a couple months.
  24. Also talk to your doctor -- They told me no jewlery but then they just put tape on the rings so they did not fall off during the procedures. What PreAdmission Tells you is not the same as the doctor or the actual surgery department.
  25. According to my insurance (United Healthcare HMO) they are covered as a normal office co-pay.
