Wow -- maybe you should go back and read what you wrote and others have written to you. Words of encouragment was given to you by me and others. This has now turned this into an attack of those who have not been banded yet. I hope you do well and get the fills you need and lose the weight you desire. I have a nice life!

I did and do take offense to your comment. I may not have had the procedure yet, however I have been researching this for quite sometime-- three years in fact ! Was going to have this done last year and found out I had cancer and had to put EVERYTHING on hold until that is resolved. Six months of chemo and losing every piece of hair on my body. And when all was better I picked up right where I left off. If you know anything about losing weight you know if you have been working out that muscle weighs more than fat. You could be building muscle and therefore not losing weight but inches -- Have you check on that ????

First of all -- Quit beating yourself up !!! Talk to your Doctor !!! They are here to help us -- You do need to move and move often -- so if you are not doing that get moving ! And exercise control most of all -- As you said the band is a tool and you do know what you need to do so do it !

What I am doing is the cooking and then making smaller portions that I can freeze so that I can have it anytime I want later. Ice trays work for this -- Make it then, run it through the food processor for the 6-8 week soft foods, then place it in the ice trays and freeze it. When you want it you can use two cubes of your favorite food and just microwave it. -

Going to be banded on November 6th. Taken to chewing sugarless gum in between meals to keep my jaw moving and not eating. Is this common? -

Well start now -- cut portion sizes, eliminate or cut down on all carbs, and sugars. You most likely know what to do. If your anything like me you have been doing it badly for years but now is the time to stop. Most of all MOVE ! walk, ride stationary bike, anything but sit there. -
What/How to tell my kids?
scanlon21 replied to Adam's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Telling the truth to the kids is always a good idea. It is not about being overweight it is about being healthy. Your wife and you need to tell the kids about it and explain that you want to become more healthy. Kids at that age are very easy going. My children are in their teens and I told them I want to get healthy so I can steal their clothes once I am there. That just makes them laugh ! -
I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?

I didn't get denied by my insurance company. But I have waited over a year to have this done. I have been researching the lapband for over three years. Last July I was going to see my doctor but found a lump under my arm. After a conversation with my doctor, I had a ultrasound and had the lump removed. They found two more lumps and after they were biopsy'd they found Diffused Large B Cell Lymphoma. This is a form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. After 6 treatments of chemotherapy and losing all the hair on my body. I am in remission. Now after all that I saw my family doctor and my oncologist and they both said go for the lapband not the gastric (just in case of re-occurrance). With my BMI of 48 I had to do nothing else to qualify for the insurance. But the doctor wanted the world. I had insurance approval in 2 days. From my initial doctors appointment to the scheduled surgery date it is less than 2 months. Now that the surgery is less than a month away (November 6th) I am having all those anxiety issures. Trying not to do the last meal thing and just keep riding my exercise bike (up to 25 minutes a day working towards 45 before the surgery date-personal goal) Chris -
