Fellbunny got a reaction from NP_WIP in November 2022 Surgery Buddies
Thank you for all the updates. I have stalled out and plateaued too many times and I often feel very discouraged. I am not losing very quickly, though I am down to 225 from a presurgery high of 285.
Congrats of your weightloss and keep up your hard work

chew? and only 2 days post op? What are you eating? Most people are on a strict liquid only diet for a few weeks after surgery to allow the stomach to heal. i did fairlife Protein Shakes for the first couple weeks after surgery. Once i was approved for soft foods the first thing i ate was a quail egg. I did quail eggs because they are much smaller and two little eggs was still too much at that time.

Seeing my collarbones for the first time in decades
Fitting into a seater vest my mom bought me the very first week of high school. We went to pick up my grandma right after buying it and took her to dinner; this was a few months after my grandpa passed. I was so proud in my new togs.
Wearing a suit and FINALLY understanding not everyone is uncomfortable wearing one
And this is a guy thing and TMI, but … it got bigger. Not actually, but having less fat in the pubic mound made it look bigger 😅😅😅

I finally had to go shopping for jeans. I have went up and down so much over the years I had a HUGE range of sizes so I have been just working through the clothes I had in my closet.
Well 2 NSV's this weekend:
1, I have shrunk out of all the stocked sizes, which means I am officially the smallest I have been in my adult life!
2, Size 16 fits loose! 14 is uncomfortably tight but did (barely) button! (Started my journey at a size 26)

25 lbs in two months is GREAT!
Don't compare yourself to everyone else. Everyone is different, different start weight, different metabolism, different diet plans, just different.
You are doing great!

Don't let the infections get you down. You have already come amazingly far in this and eventually the infection will give up.

infection round two
surgery 11/3
went to er 11/11 for infection that burst
thought that it healed up- skin was skin colored, no heat, no hard knot under skin, white scar formed, area was concave..
until sunday….. became red, tender etc… got antibiotics on monday and took two doses; woke up this morning and saw my incision was breaking open subq with thin skin holding it back from bursting … went to my surgeons office and he was i. surgery but i tried to wait on him but it burst while waiting… (i luckily brought a tea towel and most of the infection was caught by it… soaked through and now in the trash). his nurse spent 30 mins cleaning and getting some of the yuck out then sent me to er where i got another ct with contrast, two rounds of antibiotics, potassium and fluids…
sent home again and follow up later this week…. oh the joys that come with surgery

11/28 is my birthday. Its a good day.
My surgery is Nov. 8th. I am scared that even though i am following the prescribed diet, I must be doing it wrong and my liver wont shrink right.

I tolerate this really well and wish it had more of its own Protein.

Fellbunny reacted to ChubRub in Questions about MMJ use.
What is the reason you take it, and how have you felt since you've been off it for a few months?
If you are doing well without it, I would be hesitant to add it back in (and not b/c it's MMJ, I would say this with any rx,, OTC, even caffeine, soda, etc). So it all depends on why you think you need it, and what symptoms it helps with, and if those symptoms have been under control without it.

Two weeks post op today and I am so hungry. I am getting all my Protein in. I have been forgetting my fluids that last few days. I go back to work tomorrow. Most of my incisions seem to healing nicely. I have only lost 3 lbs so far....

Fellbunny reacted to KimA-GA in Dealing with Sabotage
She has severe behavioral mental health issues and she is threatened by you wanting better.
your husband needs to stand up to her and defend you to keep her mental issues from impacting you so greatly and childishly. If he won’t, you have a lot to think about.
you deserve to not be belittled and demeaned by her in your own home. You deserve to make your life better. Ignoring her is not an option when she is escalating her behavior. Be blunt and stand up for yourself. It is worth it, trust me. I had to do similar with my own husband before surgery (his behavior) and it feels horrible but is worth finding out where you stand. Either he will stand with you or he won’t and you will make your choices from his actions from there out.

Fellbunny reacted to St77 in Day of Surgery Concerns
Just to add a touch of humor to ease any stress you may feel about this, here's something from when I had a breast duct excision a few months prior to my RNY.
I was completely stripped down, in my gown and of course the ugly hospital socks. I was knocked out pretty quickly and the first thing I remember when Ii came to in the recovery room was the nurse telling me that when it's time to get dressed, I don't need to put on my bra because they put one on me (it was a compression type thing and pink). Sure enough there it was and the first words out of my mouth were "that's a nice trick wrestling me into a bra".

Fellbunny reacted to liveaboard15 in Day of Surgery Concerns
when i got the hospital i go to the surgery prep room where you will be in your own little area with curtains blocking the view (or maybe a private room idk how your hospital does it) and there i had to take off all my clothing including underwear. I then had to use some special wipes to wipe down my whole body, Then I was told to put on a hospital gown which ties off in the back. with that you will wear all the way thru surgery. They will take it off you in the OR when you are put to sleep and redress you. Just remember. You probably will never see most of the hospital staff ever again except for your surgeon and maybe his assistant. and these hospital people see naked people all day long so its nothing to worry about. as for the other issue i wont comment on that since i am a dude lol Good luck with your surgery. It will be over before you know it.

So glad that you can feel you can rant on here. Mother in laws are not teddy bears are they. They forget where they are in the pecking order. It's your home and she's trying to be dominant. Eventually one of you will have to leave and I hope your husband comes to his senses. He needs to see that you don't need this stress in your life, especially when you are trying to heal. You have enough new stuff to deal with without this going on
You could get locks as others have said or buy your food daily and cook it. OR tell hubby he has a month to deal with this woman or else you are off out of it. I wish I could hug you.

Hi. I was also sleeved on the 8th. I can not say what is normal, but my scale is newish and unreliable. It told me I've only lost 3 pounds since my surgery. Dont worry so much about the scale. I have faith my dietitian and Dr. Will let me know if something is wrong.
You got this.
