  1. NSV so far this year: I wore my boots first time since early November and they fit big, I'm finally out of the morbidly obese classification and I fit into a size 14 jeans that I have not worn in over 4 years.

    4 days postop! ~ ♡

Congrats on your surgery. I did have the sharp pain when coughing but I have pooped everyday since surgery, I'm a creature of habit so I go every day at the same time, grabted now I have to sit for 30min to make sure all is out. You seem to be doing better than me with the protein at 4 days out, my main concern was water then after week 1 was having protein too. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

How fast can you eventually eat?

I still struggle to eat meals in 30 min, I'm usually done between 10 to 15min, I do try to take a bit chew chew chew, walk a little and then repeat but still too fast, its a habit I want to kick, since it makes me feel full faster, without eating all my protein. Sams Club Bariatric buys?

I also get the Gatorade Zero Sugar protein drinks (cheapest price I have found) and protein quest chips, great when on sale.

    November 2022 Surgery Buddies

Yea I kind of expect that specially because I haven't really noticed any stalls since I do a weekly or biweekly weigh in, and I tend to retain liquids. But I'm looking forward to toning up while still loosing weight.
  6. Good luck and positive energy your way

    Weight loss stalling?

I feel like I have not hit a stall neither and I'm about 10 weeks, granted I do not weight myself daily, more of once a week to keep me on track. I would not worry about a 2-pound gain, it can be the new food you are trying or retaining water, which is usually my case.

    November 2022 surgery support!

Hello, how are the November people doing? I have been doing good, did not see much weight loss last week since I was on vacation and did eat carbs and had a margarita, but did not gain. I started to walk 30 to 1 hr 5 times a week and will start strength training soon just not the stomach portion since sometimes I do have some small numbness there still.

  10. I also experienced extra dry skin and scalp the week after surgery, I started using coconut oil in my scalp and that helped. Once I was allowed to wash the incision I started using dove body scrub, olay body wash, olay rinse off body moisturizer and the regular lotion all with hyalunoric acid, so far so good, can be doing better but concentrating on exercising this month Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Costco finds

I found the elite 42g shake, which is a life saver when I'm sick and do not want to eat or drink much. I also got the quest protein chips to munch when pms'ing and the Gatorade zero which has 10g of protein. Protein I have stuck with premier but have tried all flavors mainly from Sam's, since Costco seems to be out of them a lot.
  13. I have just said to those that have mentioned my weight loss that I have a nutritionist, I'm exercising 5x a week, I'm eating high protein/low carb and I'm eating small portions and not drinking, all of which are true. So really you can say you adopted a healthy lifestyle which you did.

    Post op gurgles

Yes it is normal, after a week or so mine diminished and I ocassionally get the sound from my throat if I eat too fast. I started to understand my full signs at about week 2 or 3, prior to that any sound was freaking me out and I will stop to make sure things were good lol Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Taking medication

No issues, even right after surgery they gave me 2 big tylenol for pain, and all my prescriptions were whole even my BP medicine. I had to wait a few weeks to start vitamins and 30 days to start birth control. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Medical Glue

I had some still at 6 weeks (belly button) but the others were coming off at 4 weeks, since that is when I started to wear regular clothes and they would rub. Let them come off naturally, I picked one and it took another 3 weeks for the redness to go away. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. I got the protein quest chips, they taste like a stale dorito, not bad for when you crave something crunchy and a bag haa 18g of protein. I usually just have half a bag and save the rest for another day. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. Yo personalmente no, pero si he visto que vomitan cuando comen muy rapido, no mastican bien la comida o comen algo que el estomago aun no puede digerir. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hunger coming back

Hi, I really never had my hunger pangs go away, I do feel the restriction when I have more than 3-4oz of food and eat too fast, but every 3 hours I have those hunger pangs and I'm less than 3 months out.
  21. My surgery was scheduled for 2pm, but they told me to be there at 8:30am to pay and all before 9 and because my surgeon is quick with the surgery so they wanted me to be prepped and ready to go earlier. My surgery was actually done around 12pm

    Fav Tracker Apps

Hello, I also used to use MyFitnessPal but since surgery moved to Baritastic and it has been working well, since I concentrate on the protein and liquid the most. It will take some getting used to once I start tracking other things when in Maintenace, but I love the weight logging feature.

    surgery tomorrow

You don't really need much. I took a robe, chargers, phone, small wallet, spare undies. I went to the hospital with a dress and sandals, and used the same when I was discharged. Took a small backpack to put my clothes when not wearing and to take any documents, medicine cups and spirometer back home.

    Stevia = Nausea

I have not had any issues post surgery, but prior to it any sugar substitute that had erythritol as the first ingredient will send me to the bathroom asap. If it is listed as the second or third I can tolerate. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery 1/26

Agree with the no overpacking. Deep breaths it's over before you know it, I didn't get nervous because I knew I had made the right decision and was just eager to get started.
