When did your program give you the OK to take vitamins?
NP_WIP replied to raspberrylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plan says 7 to 10 days after surgery. However, since the healing process is different for everyone and some cannot tolerate it so soon they said it could be later but within 30 days of surgery. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Got the disposable ones from Amazon and will get some 6 oz from Ikea for meal prepping.

As of now, I have only told my husband, sister, BFF and business partner. Not even my mom who lives with me. I feel like family/friends want to have an uneducated opinion or become food police and personally if they didn't bother mentioning what I was eating while digging myself in a grave, I don't want to hear it now. So, I decided it to keep it to myself until it is done, and then it will be on a need-to-know basis. But I do think there should be no shame in getting the help we need to be healthier and have a better quality of life.

I get joy out of planning things, so I'm in a similar boat. Surgery is 11/22 and I already know what is going in my hospital bag, ordered samples of vitamins to try, scheduled clearances, ordered the things I need for my preop diet and everyday try to think of what else I can do to be more prepared. Just can't decide if I should get 2oz containers or go to 6oz to get more use out of them, I never realized the smallest I have is 16oz, no wonder one overeats without realizing it.

I guess just not waking up, any doubts or concerns about complications I looked up and informed myself before opting for surgery. Since I'm self paid everything is moving in terms of weeks, so currently worrying about having vitamins, containers, scheduling clearances and doing a trip I had schedule before the preop diet starts, which keeps the mind busy. November Surgery Buddies!!!
NP_WIP replied to Tristenhilpert97's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Surgery date Nov 22nd. I'm self-paid so everything is moving fast, just need to do a couple of mandatory classes and in 2 weeks get the surgery clearances. Can't deny I was thinking about Thanksgiving, but I will either be on preop or post op, and I would rather get it done that week that I may not be as busy with work. -
What made you decide to have a WLS?
NP_WIP replied to omrhsn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This!! I had people suggest it to me, but I never saw myself needing it. I always thought I could do it on my own, I don't weight that much etc. Yet in those years the weight was creeping on me, every year 20-25lbs here and there. My sister had it done earlier this year because of the comorbidities that run in our family, and then it hit me. If she was advised to get it and weighs 80lbs less than me, why wouldn't I need it, why after trying for years I still think I can do it on my own? Got all the details I could from her and a close friend who had bypass (she had vsg), and once I understood my why, everything just fell into place. Now I'm getting ready to have surgery within a month. -
What made you decide to have a WLS?
NP_WIP replied to omrhsn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi, New here! What has made me decide and move forward with a consultation for WLS is the realization that I have been putting things on hold for 3 years because I was trying to lose weight on my own. I decided is time to own up and accept that I can't do it and need all the help I can get.
