I am obviously in desperate need of some counseling based on the threads I've posted. I took the time to schedule myself an appointment. They were booked solid for 3 weeks. I got an appointment 3 weeks out and put in the absence and make up slip at work on the day I made the appointment. Today is the day I am supposed to go. MY LAZY boss never even approved the absence. I can't even go to my counseling appointment now because she is too busy looking up celebrity gossip while she is supposed to be working. All she had to do was open the e-mail and click yes or no. I mean she has time to approve her own nail appointments during work. I am trying to better myself. This appointment was very important. I'm trying to take everything lately as a sign as not to get discouraged. I mean is this a sign that I am not supposed to go to counseling? Can I find the help I need in myself? Just needed to vent. thanks

I don't act 18 though. i've been working in the mortgage business since I was 15. I forced myself to grow up young. So i don't take offense. I am aware of how to let go lol. but we should be friends because I don't know any young people who have the band

after your swelling goes down, you should be able to get more foods down.

Food Stuck over 2 hours, worst feeling ever!!!
Hollie519 replied to ImaGoofball's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't limit yourself on what you can eat. Its about how well you chew and the small bites you take. There is no certain food I avoid except things that are really bready. Those things just make one big ball and clog your hole. :/ -

This made me laugh SO much! I have had the same thing. When I lay on the ground, my hips hurt too. It's totally band related. It's because all our cusion is gone. lol I can't even tell you how many people I have complained about this too. HAHA! IT sucks but beauty is pain. My tail bone actually hurts right now. I rub it a lot and my boyfriend makes fun of me because he says it looks like i'm picking my butt. lol -
I need some Lap Band friends who are more my age. I'm over trying to find any people who are local. I just want to find some people who are 19 and 20 so I can have conversations with people my age! I'm driving myself insane. I work with a bunch of women over 30 who all have kids and I go to the gym. My only social interaction with people my age is with my boyfriend. I love him and all but I need to find some more friends. lol I have no clue what people my age do. I am over all the people I went to high school with. Any suggestions on where i can meet people my age is much appreciated also.

Me too! Good for you!

Oh sweetie, I feel your pain. I had a few people tell me not to have the surgery as well. My family was supportive but many of my friends were not. A lot of my friends didn't want me to have the surgery for fear of complications. I don't believe lap band was big enough a year ago for many people to disagree with the process itself. Lap Band is a tool. It's not a miracle. If you can put in the work, it'll do the rest. You sound pretty determined for this to work out for you. You need to stop focusing on the negative and look toward the positive. It's very sad you lost a child but you did get one right. I mean that has to be positive. Twins are expensive! Being a more positive person is something I am trying to hard to work on. Negative is always something that people focus on. I have found that although i am thin, I did not consider myself happy. I kept belittling my weightloss and saying but look what I still have to lose. Honestly, its just a more stressful and depressing way to live. i'm reading this book called A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and it has helped me a lot and I just finished the 4th chapter. If you have the will, than having this surgery could be the positive change that you need to help make yourself a more positive person all around. Good luck! Let me know what you decide.

Food Stuck over 2 hours, worst feeling ever!!!
Hollie519 replied to ImaGoofball's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You guys should be contacting your doctor way before 2 hours! It's not joke! Not that i think you would take it that way but i made the mistake of waiting and it could have been horrible. I had to have my band deflated and on liquid for two weeks. It sent me into a downward spiral and i gained 10 pounds! -

You shouldn't be experincing that. Call your doctor. They said if i couldn't drink any water a half hour after, than i need to see them immediately. That kind of stuff can cause your band to slip. Than you have to have recorrective suregery. I can't stress how important it is that you contact your doctor. -
Nope! mine are hardly noticable compared to the stretch marks that are kind of going away. I had my surgery 11 months ago yesterday and a normal person wouldn't be able to pick out my scars. I didn't apply any kind of cream to them. Just be patient. Your scars shouldn't be that big anyway.

I'm telling you ladies. Its because you are not use to the tightness of having a band around your stomach. The band is designed so food will stay in your stomach for hours. It often won't happen right after eating because the food isn't going down yet. Like you said, when you had solid food it came. More mushy things form to the hole you have. The more solid foods don't form to the hole as easy. Hence the tightness.

Oh as bad as it is to say, I am a pretty good story maker. lol growring up we always got the 75th degree from my mom. So I got pretty good at approaching situations from all angles. Answer all the questions they'd ask before I talk to them. That way no one catches me off guard. lol Too bad I have morals or I'd make a great lawyer. JK I feel better about it today. i'm just going to schedule my next appointment in the morning and tell work to deal with it. Most people won't take the morning appointments anyway. So, it should be easier to get. I have a bunch of appointments to get my wisdom teeth pulled. I know I won't miss those because 4 grand to have braces for 2 years is worth getting chewed out for leaving. I follow all the company procedures on how to request time off and what not. i do it and they don't approve than they can kiss my ass! lol :]

Yea I feel your pain. i have 29 left to lose and i feel like its never going to come off. I think i need a tummy tuck which also bums me out. Just sounds like you need a fill though. Your body gets used to routine after a while. That's why I always try to change up my eating habbits and exercise.
-
I think everyone has this. It just must feel new to you. i feel the pain when i have food in my pouch going down. It's really tight, which can cause you to feel sore. It's just your food passing. Oh girl, you will get used to this feeling. It kind of sucks but its part of getting where you need to be. After a while you won't even notice it anymore. Exercise won't hurt your band either. Not running. THIS MEANS YOUR BAND IS WORKING!!!! YEAH! Good luck!

oh and congrats on 140 pounds!!!! That's awesome.
-
Don't be afraid. It just sounds like you need a fill. That's it. Or maybe you are not eating enough. That's definantly a question for your doctor. If you aren't having any kind of pain or other complications you are most likely due for fill. I have heard that heartburn is a major sign of band slippage. And your food intake would be greater if you stretched your pouch. Let me know how it goes. I'm curious now.

I was like you and my band became swollen shut. It's not joke. My doctor said ALWAYS call if yo can't get anything down after 30 minutes. Good luck! I know it sucks

After Surgery Tape
Hollie519 replied to jcourtney01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't do it yet but you can soak in warm water. Mine came right off in the shower but I believe they told me to wait like 2 weeks before going swimming or like completely soaking my incisions in water. -
Like I said I just started a new unit on Tuesday. I have heard a lot of bad things about the boss and really just didn't want to be on his bad side. I had told him the appointment was approved a week ago. Neither send me a confirmation. She is supposed to forward it to HR but she never did. There is nothing I could've done to change it. I asked her and mentioned it several times. No offense to her but she is not a very high moraled person. She is a manager who knows more celebrity gossip than she does about her own position. The appointment I had was for a screening. I haven't been to the place I go in 2 years so I have to do a screening. It's for all the counselors; no particular one. I get to pick after that. I was trying to make the appointment easy for my work schedule. Now I'm just going to take the next available on and they can kiss my ass. lol

Hollie519 replied to Erin18's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You make one and than copy and paste the bb code onto the actualy part where you type your signature -
i actually am in a teen study here. I know one girl who had the surgery on the same day as me. i try to talk to her but she hasn't gotten nearly as close to the results I have. You can tell she doesn't like me for it. :/ The doctors won't tell me any other info and the support groups my doctor holds don't have any young people. I'll have to check out some other ones. I had no idea lap band had gotten that big until I joined this site. Thanks for the input :]
