hello Cherry Blue well today is day 3 on pre op all going well & havent diverted at all so feeling quite proud. Dietician said first 3-4 days are the hardest & then it gets easier so feeling good about it. yeah the pre op loss is a great thing cant wait to get it done :w00t::thumbup:

hey thanks for the replies hey that sounds like my experience with APRA, but in the end i got there so it will happen. good luck. i was worried for a while though lol i had to put surgery back, if i dont then id loose airfare & accomodation costs as i am comming down from far nth qld cheers Damo

thanks lovely ladies yeah it felt like a kick in the guts to have them say " now tough titties and back to the end of the line." typical Gov Dept though i guess. All they needed was a re written letter and its done so wouldnt it be better to approve or dissapprove and get it out of the system ?? or does that make too much sense ?? anyway i am sure it will happen too coz come the 15th Oct im gonna start pushing alot harder. etc. good luck to you also , i hope it all comes together cheers Damo

hey Guys & Girls was filling out all my relevant paperwork today for my application to APRA to release my funds from SUPER to help pay for my banding was thinking " what if they knock it back" as in the application ? has anyone had an APRA application refused for any reason. ???? i understand that if you have been refused it may most likely be for a personal private reason but am thinking that i am now sooooooooooo committed & looking forward to this turn in my life that if i am refused for any reason that it will be crushing !!!!! any reason for concern ??? even with a truthful application i'm still concerned ????

lol thanks i feel so angry right now..........called APRA to let them know that I sent the new GP letter by fax and they informed me that , thats great and now the new approval date will take another 18 days !!!!!!!!!!! so the new approval date is 15th Oct. then 12 days for Superfund to release $$$ and all this and im due in Surgery on 30th. not leaving much time is it ??? theres bound to be something else hold up the process and BANG. itll be too late to get the Dr's all paid up before flying to Brissy to be done. flights all booked & so is hotel when I explained all this to the lovely girl at APRA she simply responded. " thats Government for ya, its now another 18 working days sorry" everything including my short & curlies are crossed in hope of making the dates cheers for all ya support cheers Damo

Well some AWESOME news guys APRA has been swamped apparently with applications but after an extra 6 working days than orriginally planned , they called yesterday to tell me that all i have to do is get my GP to re-write his letter to the Specialist ( as they dont like the wording - go figure !!), once i get that back to them they will approve my claim......YIPPPPEEEEE so im scheduled for surgery on 30 Oct so still a fair bit to organise BUT the ugliest part of the process is all but complete ( getting approval from APRA ) so HEREEEEEEEEEEEEEe we go cheers Damo

hello thanks for your kind supportive words i have sent off the application and see how we go you are most likely correct about the template thing. seemed like a standard kind of letter to me. lol ill keep you posted as to how we go cheers again Damo

thanks Sunwyse yeah ive heard so many different stories i think thats whats got me concerned. I do already have the 2 letters etc so i am just about ready to stick it in the mail and prey. lol my surgeon did say that they that they have done quite a few letters for Apra so lets hope they got it right lol im sure it will be ok but soooooo looking forward to getting banded i couldnt handle getting knocked back. im so ready for this to happen, so need it to be done anyway i heard that if Apra approve it the actual super fund pretty much never knock it back. I spoke to my super fund yesterday and they didnt agree but then they werent going to say either way either. just trying to stay positive. anyway ill keep ya posted as to how i go. thanks everyone for reading thanks Sunwyse for the reply

hi Thinner thanks for the kind words I am getting it done in Brissy because Dr Copps who comes up here to Mackay every 3 months has just done his surgery visit so i missed out. so rather than wait till right on Xmas i asked if it were possible for me to get done in Brissy at his usual surgery. Not dramas on thier end if i was ok with it so i said..........Bring it on !!!! so off to Brissy i go. as for fills i will have his support when he is in Mackay and i believe that there is also another Dr in Mackay who takes care of fills/unfills in between his visits. Mackay is over an hour away from me but i dont care. Like i said to the nurses when i had my consult...........I'd drive across the country if it meant getting the proper support needed. the other time constraint was that i am paying via my super so i still have to get the approval process done which i understand takes max 3 weeks so that will give me plenty of lead time :mad2::Banane32::smile::Banane32:
