I agree! Keep in mind that as women our weight fluctuates on a daily basis, depending on the time of day, and especially the time of month. So just keep that in mind. Don't beat yourself up over every pound, it will come off eventually as long as you do what you are supposed to. Good luck to you!!:clap2:

LOL!! Man, this whole loud gurgling thing is starting to bumb me out.:faint: I'm going to be soo imbarassed the first time it happens to me in front of someone. I get imabrassed now when my stomach makes noises, I can't imagine that happening every time I eat or drink. :omg:

First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you went through that. (Unfortunately, I just lost my grandfather to cancer.):think I agree that being well hydrated plays a huge role in the elasticity of the skin. I also heard that it may depend on your age and on how long you have been overweight. Also on how fast or slow you lose the weight. The fact that you lose weight slower with the band than with the bypass is one of the reasons why I chose the band over the other. I'm okay with the slower weight lose, as long as it means that I have a greater chance to lose any excess skin.

Your surgeon will let you know what meds to continue, what ones to discontinue, and which ones that you may need to hold off on until after surgery (or what ever). He should also let you know which meds may need to be changed to liquid form. So ask your surgeon to be sure. I hope that helps! :thumb:

If your problem is that the band is too tight, you should at the very least contact your doc. If you are having any problems that are troublesome to you, you should always ask your doctor. All the information I have read, always says that you should not drink carbinated drinks because it expands in the stomach and can stretch it. Good luck to you!

Somebody Please Respond Just a Few ?s

As far as statistics goes, that you find out from the surgeon who is performing your surgery. The surgeons success rate is far more important than that of the general FDA statistics. All you have to do is ask your surgeon what his/her success rate and mortality rate is. The surgeon is required to disclose that information upon request. -
I agree completely. Because without exercise you are more likely to lose muscle first, before losing any fat.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
stacyrtl replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is amazing!! But what I'm also curious to know is how long did it take them all to loose that amount? Espeacially the ones who lost 200 lbs. or more. -
What is that all about? I don't remember reading anything about stomach gurgling! Could someone please tell me what that is all about? I am scheduled for surgery later this month. Is it painful? Or just imbarassing?
-
I think you are progressing just fine, well maybe more than fine. Because I have been told and heard that a good weight loss for the lap-band surgery is 2 pounds per week (8 pounds per month). You are averaging about 12 pounds per month. That is great!! Congrats:clap2:

Wow, I'm sorry to see that nobody has responded yet. Unfortunately I can not answer this for you yet. I am scheduled to have surgery on January 29th. Hopefully you get some responses, I would like to know myself. Good luck!!

I am scheduled for surgery on January 29th.:clap2: :clap2: I was originally going to have my surgery on December 15th, but I ended up having my gallbladder out on that date instead. Now I have to wait 6 weeks to be sure that I have healed completely. I am soo happy!!:bounce: I have been waiting for a long time, it has been a long process.

The idea of putting your entire meal in one container with the protein on the top and veggies on the bottom, so you have to "eat through the protein to get to the carbs" is a great idea!!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has had him as their surgeon or is going to be having him do their surgery. I am going to be going to see him on Thursday for my preop eval. Hopefully all goes well, and I will get my surgery date:clap2: . But any way, please let me know how you feel or what you know about Dr. Singh. Thank you!!

Dr. Singh from Albany Medical College??
stacyrtl replied to stacyrtl's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Originally I had a doctor closer in my area, but after going through all the steps I found out they didn't accept my insurance. So I started researching on the internet and found his name and attended his seminar. I decided to have my surgery done by him and then started the process. And what a long process it has been. But it is worth it because I have a date now, January 29th.:clap2: :faint: -
