    4.5 months!

Is your 52 down from your first appt? from highest weight? from surgery day? There are a lot of different ways to look at this.. My highest weight was 280. My preop weight was 272. My surgery day I was 256. Today at exactly 4 months, I am 200.5. So down 79 lbs from my heighest weight / first bariatric appt last april, lost 8 on my own before preop started labor day weekend. We did a 4 week preop, during which I lost 16 lbs. Since surgery, I am down 56. But also, I did bypass and I am extremely strict on my plan.
  2. Hello I am 8 weeks out from RNY, but I feel this is relevant to all of our journeys.. My husband asked me what can he put in my stocking for christmas this year as candy is off limits. I suggested he can get a couple of sugar free candies but asked he send me the nutrition labels before buying... i have seen a lot of people mention chapstick but I honestly keep up with mine and don't need a ton of chapstick. i bought myself resistance bands last week and I am thinking about giving them to him to let him put them in. For his stocking he has a level ruler pencil thing, heated motorcyle gloves, and candy. Our son has a new tervis water bottle that snaps sealed, candy, and some bath stuff.

    Turkey neck?

look for a plastic surgeons office that also offers esthetic services. maybe a high retinol cream will help!

    What am I doing wrong?

So I read all the comments and I just want to reiterate, I do track, religiously. I didn't weigh all weekend, we were out of town for our anniversary, but when I weighed this morning I was down 2 lbs from friday morning... and I was shocked because I ate off plan this weekend (still had the portions, just tried things I haven't had yet, like bread, grits, mashed potatoes..) I looked online and the google says that sometimes it helps when your body hits a plateua to shake things up by either upping carbs or fat for a few days to get it going, so maybe its what it needed?

    What am I doing wrong?

I religiously track, i get between 600-900 calories a day depending on what I meal prepped + if i have 4 or 5 meals. my dietician told me i was being dramatic XD

    Meds and water

I would ask your doctor if taking it right when the thirty minutes after eating is up. i feel like the thirty minute window should be plenty close enough for it to still count as being close to when you ate. but im not a medical professional

    Portion size

My surgeons forever plan has 1/4th cup of protien and 1/4 cup of a side (veggies 3x a day, 1 daily starch, 1 daily fruit) eat protien first, sometimes i cant eat it all or even get to my side.

    OMG I did it!!!!

I am so proud of you!
  10. I dont know what your dress code for your work is but I highly recommend you look at the three in one size pants options! I have a couple pairs of old navy ones. I got them on sale for around 25 dollars. I figured since they will fit size 14 16 and 18 I will get good use out of them! the black rockstar ones are not jean like material so I wear them as if they are skinny slacks for work. (I work in a bank)

  12. i dont think it is fair to cast your own opinion or feeling of contentness onto her.. both of you have different outlooks and thats okay - you shouldnt shame her for it.

I REALLY hate PCOS...I feel defeated...

i don't understand why your surgeon didn't push you towards bypass instead of sleeve if they thought your PCOS would create problems down the road. I am so sorry you are going through with it, and even more sorry our health care system sucks especially after what happened this past summer... unfortunately its going to be harder now for you to get a hysterectomy. There was a list circulating on google, of all the doctors in the US willing to do hysterectomys without hoops, they would just submit to your insurance for approval and I will pray for you that the PCOS issues is enough or that they will atleast put you on something to put you into early menopause to keep it at bay
