It hasn't happened to me yet. I haven't gotten my first period since banding. I was and am afraid that when it starts, it will be just like you are talking about. My surgeon actually told me to expect something like that because of the influx of hormones. I hope your doctor gives you either something good to help or some good news about how to make it stop.

Thanks She. I guess I want this to be instant. I will take it slow. I am supposed to go this morning and do a class with the trainer. Hopefully, I won't have a stroke during the class before it is over. uggg I will take it slow. Thanks.

I lost most of it during the pre-op diet. I have only lost about 7 pounds since I had surgery. I am losing slow too. I don't get another fill until the 17th or 18th. Until then, I am just trying to struggle through.

Do you use something online to track your nutrition/calories?
*slim* replied to annecolorgreen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am not sure how extensive the database is on this, but they do allow you to enter your recipes in and get the nutrition info from it. It is www.nutritiondata.com. I have only just started using it this week because it did allow the recipes. Good luck in finding the site that is right for you! -
PJTP- I wish TN was one of the states that didn't do the time changes. I would love the extra hour if I actually got extra sleep. Instead I end up waking an hour earlier than I need to and being sleepy too early in the evening.

***dancing around office singing*** I knew right from the beginning... that you would end up winning...I knew right from the start...you'd put an arrow, through my heart... Sorry, that song is stuck in my head (courtesy of some 80s thing I watched). I thought I would share the wealth....bwahahahaha

That is my problem. I went to the gym Friday for a free trial with a trainer. This 85lb perky body comes out. I know that I can't read her mind, but I know what I would have thought at her size, looking at me. That is really tough. Can we just trade bodies for a while? You can get this one started on the right path, while I just keep yours in shape?:cool2:

It's so great to see how well the two of you are doing, and yet so hard to fathom that I could ever get THIS body to the point where I would feel bad without exercise. I want that so badly, but I just don't know how to get there.

Ok, I know Michee runs, what type of exercise do you do She?

Typically Me... Gaining Weight on a Liquid Diet?
*slim* replied to sailorgirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It is fluid weight. They pump so much fluid into you during surgery. I think most people came out of surgery weighing at least 5 pounds more than they did when they went in. It will take a few days, but it will go back down. Unfortunately, when you start mushies, it will go up again slightly or your weight loss will plateau for a little while. Either way, it is expected. Just keep doing what your doctor said, and you will be ok. Good luck! -
PB-productive burp.

Would You Wear a Mini-skirt?
*slim* replied to Jennie1976's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I voted heck yea, BUT I would probably only wear them with my DH. My DH likes to see me in short skirts and high heels every once in a while :hurray:(even now?!?!?!:rolleyes2:), so I have to keep him happy. -
I'm on the downward side of thirty, but I refuse to claim 40 just yet. I can't remember if I have ever posted in this forum before. Hi to everyone. Good luck where ever you are on your journey!

My doctor doesn't put in any fill during surgery, so I really had no problems when I started real food. I was really nervous about eating. I have only had one PB since being banded. I was eating chicken breast. I think it was a combination of things that caused it. The chicken was too dry, the bite was probably too large, and I was probably eating too fast. I haven't really had any other problems so far. I am hungry sooner than I would like. I have found that some foods just don't feel comfortable for me since my first fill. For example, I made swiss steak in the crock pot today. The meat wasn't hard, I chewed it very well, yet I could feel the small particles going down (not pain, I could just feel it). That wasn't comfortable to me, so I may wait a while before trying that again. I have tried several foods. I think each person will react differently to some things. I don't know if I am reacting more out of fear of PB and sliming, but this has been my experiences so far. Sorry for such a long answer!

Anyone else lethargic?
*slim* replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is hard to get the calories in on the post op healing diet. It does get a little easier. I am a little over a month out and still struggle at times to get all of the calories in. It does get better. -
Anyone else lethargic?
*slim* replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking a good multivitamin? If not, you really want to add a chewable vitamin to what you are doing. Also, make sure that you are drinking enough. I understand that being dehydrated can make you feel that way. Either way, I hope that you feel better soon. -
Hey Susan, I haven't tried either one, but I have heard that the Merderma does help with old scars. I just bought myself some, so I will let you know how it goes.

It is more like a vomit burp, or at least the one time I did it, that is what it felt like. (weak stomachs stop reading now) It sat in my throat for a few minutes. Then I got that "I am going to throw up" feeling. That bit of food that sat in my throat came up, but there was none of the acid like regular vomit. It didn't keep going like if you were really sick. I didn't feel bad after it was over like when you get sick. It was just gross. My doctor said the same thing about the weight loss. Also, they didn't really try to restrict the amount of food that I was eating at the beginning. They said to eat until I am full. The restrictive part won't come until you get your fills. Even now after a fill, I can still eat more than I think I should, but way less than prior to surgery. I think you are doing great. You have left morbidly obese behind forever! Be proud of that, and don't worry about eating more than you think you should. Just work to make good choices and you will be ok.

I can only assume that they just don't have a life.

I think you are doing very well with your thirty pounds. I found that when I wasn't losing actual weight, I was still losing inches. You might try measuring yourself. Also, my doctor said that after the initial weight loss, it would slow down. Try not to get real discouraged. I have my 2nd fill the day after you, so I am hoping that we both get more restriction. I can still eat more than I think I should be able to with no real problems on anything. You really are doing great, so try not to worry just yet! Your husband is funny. You may not be too tight. You might try drinking something warm like tea before you eat. That might help you be able to get your food down without PBing. Teri you will do fine. They put some type of cream (not sure what it was) on me before they did my fill. I didn't fill it at all. I didn't hurt the next day either. You will do great!:wink5:

LMAO! :cursing: Thankfully, I didn't buy ANY candy this year! I didn't even have to answer my door this year! woohoo!
-
That makes sense, but is awful for you. I hope that you able to get your blood sugars in order. I would hate for you to lose your money. Maybe since you have already started working on what you eat, that will help to regulate your blood sugars too. I hope everything works out for you. I know after going through all of this work, to be turned away would be awful. Keep me posted on what happens.

Congrats! I know that you have been waiting a long time. It will be here before you know it!

They're really called Krystal's. I don't know if you have them in TX. They are similar to White Castle's. They have these reconstituted onions on them that really can hurt your stomach, but I love them.:cursing: Good luck!

Since you are self pay, maybe Johnna can go ahead and schedule your surgery for close to the time of your appointment? I mean that appointment would be your only hold up right? It would ruin Thanksgiving:thumbdown:, but it would put you back on solid foods by Christmas. It's just a thought.
