PJTP- Happy Saturday!

What a person puts in their ticker is a personal choice. We are each on our own personal journey. We are not in a race. We are each simply here for support. Quite frankly, unless each person chooses to put that info, it really isn't my or any other person's business what that weight loss includes. Just my own opinion. I earned every single pound included on my ticker and don't plan to remove a single one of them.

help i'm putting all my weight back on
*slim* replied to howells's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds to me like you need to have some fill removed. That would allow you to eat regular foods and stop the sweets. Go see your doctor for a slight unfill. I hope this helps. -
PLanning surgery timing need help
*slim* replied to MiniBand's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
RestlessMonkey is right, it really does depend. My testing included EKG, upper GI, blood work, urine testing, and chest xray. All of those had to be done within 2 weeks of my surgery per my hospitals rules. Also, it was almost exactly a month from approval to surgery for me. It was supposed to be longer, but they had a cancellation and moved me up. Just talk to you surgeon's office. They will tell you what tests you need and when. Good luck on the appeal! -
Maried Bandsters--does your spouse suffer?
*slim* replied to TooMuchMe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I cooked most days for my family while on the post op diet. I just didn't taste anything. I told them before hand that I couldn't eat, so I would NOT be tasting for too much or too little seasoning. It all went well. I am almost 2 months out now. I try to make sure that whatever I cook as something that I can eat. I try one bite to see if it is uncomfortable (I can't eat regular rice anymore) and go from there. It seems to work for now. We will see how it goes when I have more restriction and have fewer things that I can eat. All of that to say this, if you think that you can't follow your surgeon's post op rules to the letter if you cook for your family, then have them cook/order take out or whatever until you are on regular foods. You don't want to risk hurting your band. Good luck on your journey! -
My understanding is the hernia repair will all that you mentioned, Froggi. More pain and longer recovery should be expected. I don't know how much more pain. In truth, I didn't feel any pain until day 5 after surgery and that was gas.

The insulin resistance associated with PCOS was used as a comorbitity with my insurance company.

Welcome to Band Land! I hope that every thing went well. Be blessed!

Before your first appointment did you?
*slim* replied to LastOptionAtty's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I did go through that. I think a lot of bandsters would say that they did. It is the "last supper". I kept thinking that I would never be able to eat these things again, so I ate and ate and ate (I am sure you get the picture). I didn't get to do it long. I only had a few weeks between insurance approval the start of my preop diet. As a matter of fact, I had a planned "last supper" that I didn't get to eat because they moved my surgery up. You just have to remember that you will be able to eat most of those things again. Just not as much. -
Something to commemorate my decision
*slim* replied to BethFromVA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
BethFromVA-I didn't completely steal your idea. I did get a Chinese symbol on my wrist. Thank you for posting your idea. Now I will always have this reminder. -
I couldn't either.

Some people just don't understand the concept of personal space. I like the way your daughter responded.

For those of you that exercise regularly now, how long did it take for it to become routine? I mean, how long did it take for the exercise to not feel completely out of your realm of reality? I am struggling with this, so any ideas on how to get to that point would be great.

Thank you Donna and Diva. I will play around with that when I get home from work. My job won't allow me access to the site right now. Isn't it funny? I can access lapbandtalk.com but can't access the avatar site? Makes no sense.

Where are you all making these avatars?
-
I am glad that you are feeling better She. I like the new avatar.

What a great idea (even if plain agrees with it:wink2:)! I thought about getting another tattoo but could not decide on what or where to put it. You have now given me an idea. I hope that you don't mind me "borrowing" your idea, do you? Good luck with your surgery next week! You already have such a wonderful attitude about it. You are going to do great! -
PJTP- I hope you feel better She!

Congrats Ebony! That is great news. SNT-way to go! Keep those sizes moving down!

Can Advil be my friend again?
*slim* replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said no to regular use, but occasionally I could take liquid advil as long as I flushed it from the stoma. On that note though, check with your surgeon about what your amount of use would be and if it is ok. -
Average age of a Bandster?
*slim* replied to Kellster's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I only wish that I had gotten banded before I got to this point. -
How much did they put in your first fill?
*slim* replied to a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My doctor won't tell us how much we have. He said that since everyone's body is different, the amount of fill that they need will vary. He doesn't want us to be able to compare notes in his office. -
My name is Jen and I'm addicted to...
*slim* replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm buying a regular scale to go next to my digit scale. I have wondered if I was the only one that could step off the digital scale then step back on the weight would be different! That is so frustrating! Thanks for the idea! -

I could have written this myself. Right down to the pizza! I really hate it when that happens. -
Well, get prepared... My husband cooked dinner tonight and that is a sure sign of the apocalypse, right?
