Very slow this morning. How is everyone doing? It is very dreary here today. It is raining. The air is cool. I was planning to clean out DS's bedroom, but I can't work up the gumption just yet. He is going to be very upset, but something has to give. So, I don't know if I have mentioned that MIL has apparently come into some money. I am not exactly sure where it came from (I have ideas), but not sure. Well, I saw her yesterday. I guess since she no longer needs me, she feels that she no longer has to pretend to be nice. It is too funny. She barely spoke. She didn't smile. Before, she would try to hug me, yesterday...not so much. I told DH about it. He said that she must be on her high horse since she has some money. She is running through the money pretty quickly. I have a feeling she will be broke again pretty darn soon. I just thought that was so funny though. She hasn't been calling like she had been. She is back to only calling DH's cell phone instead of calling the house. Not that I mind, but I do find it extremely funny that she is back to her old self now that she no longer needs something from me. Now if she would just move...

Not yet, but hopefully soon. Well, I guess they do feel some better because they aren't aching just sitting here. Now it only hurts when I eat. I have to admit that my cheek is raw though. They put a new appliance on the back teeth to turn them, but the piece that they put in is rubbing my cheek raw. I finally broke down and put the wax around those teeth. That made it feel much better. Everyday I question my decision to get these things put in.

Hi KC! **waving wildly**

It is a scary thought that these are our future CEOs that we are talking about here. How is the kid that isn't taught how to balance a check book going to handle the running of a fortune 500 company? Oh well, good morning everyone! I hope that everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

The typing thing was part of their reasoning. No one writes anymore (or so they say). Everything is on computer so why bother? I thought that was so sad. I was so proud when I learned how to write in cursive. I looked on that as so grown up. Don't get me wrong, there is so much that my son has learned already that I didn't get until high school, but at what cost?

Way to go punkster!

I wasn't offended by anything that you said krtork. Things are just so different now. I mean, my son is in 7th grade. Do you know that I had to teach him how to write in cursive? They don't teach that anymore here. It isn't important. Of course, then they write a note in cursive and expect him to read it...

It's a sorry state that our school systems are in right now. No child left behind. Yeah right. I read about some students that weren't quite "making the grade" at a local school here. The principle actually encouraged the kid to drop out of school and get a GED! What kind of crap is that? They said that the students were brining down their test scores! WTF? What about if you teach the children and make it engaging, they will want to learn it!?!?!?!?

I wish I could say I slept in. I was awake until almost 12, but I was back up at 4 (darn internal clock:cursing:). I just lay there refusing to get up. I finally dozed back off until 7. I am now drinking my coffee and fixing breakfast (everyone is up here). No relaxing time to myself. Darn it! Enjoy some quiet for me too. I am up making my plan of attack for the weekend. I don't want to have to leave the house but once. I will get my weekend shopping done (I hope) and then relax the rest of the weekend. I am truly hoping this is how it goes. Of course, the best laid plans...

That's what I want my garden to be. The only reason I haven't done it is DS. I can see the broken windows from him throwing my "garden" at things. :sneaky:

I know that you are taking care of DD, but you also have to take care of you. You won't be any good to her if you are down ill. Have you taken anything to hold the migraine off from getting worse?

We've been put on a 10 second delay to allow for content editing.:sneaky:

Wouldn't it be great?:sneaky: I'll get you my pretty!

I'm glad that you mentioned that. I sometimes have to remind him that he can't be so hard on himself if he makes an honest mistake. Yay! Tell your DH happy birthday!

I don't have a single plan for the weekend. I am going to veg all weekend. I might clean (yuck). I will try to figure out some more of Lu's recipes to freeze for the future. That is my weekend in a nutshell. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend (said as though I won't be on here all freaking weekend)!
