If you don't have one already, get yourself a notebook. Start documenting dates, times, and witnesses to your bosses actions. That way you won't have to go straight from memory. You will have documented every time it has happened. I hope things get better though. ((hugs))

Yay for you! If you are losing fat mass then you are gaining muscle which weighs more than fat. You are losing those inches which is awesome!

Wow, I am sorry that you are going throught that. I know that appointment can't come soon enough. I hope you feel better soon.

It is really crazy. They canceled school because it was cold one day. They canceled because there was flooding no where near a single school on another. They DIDN'T cancel for snow, but today to cancel because it MIGHT thunderstorm. I'm telling ya', they have a darn good union. I have been told that they are trying to use up snow days that are built into the school year.

Do you have a heating pad? Maybe you can lay one against your chest close to where the band is? That might help the swelling go down some. I really hope you are able to get in touch with your doctor soon.

Random PJTP-The school system here must have the best freaking union there is. They let school out early because there is the *possibility* of thunder storms this evening. So far, it has barely sprinkled, but they let out of school? WTF? I am going to use all of my freaking vacation before the summer because they keep letting out of school! Ok, sorry for the small rant. Beth, I hope that the rest of your day gets better. Donna, thanks for that picture. It is nice to know that there are still caring people out there.

Are you abe to keep at least fluid down? If not, I would go and sit at that office until they could see me. You could get dehydrated too fast. You might also try warm to hot tea or broth to help loosen you up. I am sure that all of the vomiting has irritated you even more. I hope you are able to get it resolved soon. I hope that you feel better.

I'm sure that you will get to enjoy your Valentine's dinner. Your adjustment will probably be with both Dr. Ponce and Brooke. He was there for my first 3 adjustments since they combine the follow-up with the adjustment.

Tap-Happy Birthday! Gone-Happy Belated Birthday! Babygirl-sleep is just overated, didn't you know? Off to the salt mines.

Okay, I am not the smartest when it comes to workout equipment. I am trying to buy an exercise bike. I am confused about the difference in the workouts for a recumbent bike and an upright bike? I don't want to buy something that isn't going to allow a good workout. Would someone mind helping me choose?

Thanks. I hadn't even thought about a spin bike. I will do a search for one right now.

stomach flu w/ the lap band
*slim* replied to esposa13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor's office had me get a prescription for phenegran when my family had the stomach flu a month after I was banded. I plan to keep one on hand just in case. -
I had 4 weeks off work (I have a physical job). It was approved through our short term benefits at work. Even though the surgery itself is short, it is still surgery. I didn't have to tell my boss the reason I was going to be off other than to say a medical procedure. The paperwork was all handled through the company that does our short term benefits. They only told my boss my dates to be out and my return date. They are required by law to not discuss your information unless they have your permission. I have to say that I really felt like I needed my time off. I don't think I could have been ready after just a few days like some people have done. Good luck to you!

It is hard to break those habits. I completely understand where you are coming from. I did that with a small hand full of almonds. I was popping them into my mouth like I was not banded. I had done that with maybe 4 of them when I noticed that they weren't going down. I had a piece in my mouth and for whatever stupid reason, swallowed. Thankfully I didn't PB or slime, but I felt awful for a while. I just walked around lifting my arms above my head. I looked and felt like a complete idiot. You do have to learn to listen to your band. It will tell you *enough* if you learn to listen.

I was a stomach sleeper before surgery. I haven't been able to sleep on my stomach since surgery. At first it was because it was so tender, now it just isn't as comfortable as it used to be. It doesn't hurt anymore, but it just isn't the same.

What FINALLY made you decide to get banded??
*slim* replied to Mrs_Mauricio's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
There were several things that added up to me going to the seminar. I had noticed I was starting to have trouble reaching my own rear for cleaning and wiping (eww), but my real "aha" moment came at a children's activity museum. I was following my 11 year old son while sweating really badly. He took one look at me and said that it was ok, we could go home. I realized that I was limiting him so often because I was too tired to do the things with him that he came to expect it. What kind of childhood is that? I called to check on insurance requirements that day. -
I'm going to go out on a limb (a big strong limb to hold me up:blushing:) and say this person read the first page or so of this thread and responded.

I can imagine that 3am feed will come too soon either way. I always seemed to just fall asleep right when it was time to get back up to feed my son. I was so thrilled when he started sleeping through the night. Of course, now I miss those times. He is on the verge of teen angst. I don't know how I am going to handle that with my sanity intact.

I'm here too. I am bored. I am not out having fun. I am on call for work, so no drinking, no partying, no fun. hmph
-
The information that you mentioned is what was used to approve my surgery through BCBS-IL. Good luck!

I am on my fourth fill and feeling the same way that you do. Sorry. I feel some restriction in the morning. I can feel my morning water gurgle. By close to lunch time, I am hungry. By dinner, I could eat a rhino. I need to schedule my next fill, but I am trying to see how much my insurance pays since this is the beginning of the year.

Left Shoulder Pain After Lap Band Surgery
*slim* replied to vbaum's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ok, so I thought maybe I was having some strange heart attack. I started having shoulder pain today. I think it started after eating lunch this afternoon, but I am not sure. I had no idea that it might be band related until I did a search and found this thread. At least I know I am not crazy. -
