trouble with chicken?
*slim* replied to JENNIFER7375's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have made a great crock pot chicken that even my family liked. You take your chicken and put it into the crockpot with salsa (and any of the seasonings you like) and let it cook. The meat was tender and juicy. It was very easy to get down. Something else is to try eating dark meat chicken. -
Yeah, he usually does his own laundry, but when I am on vacation, he seems to think I should use some of my extra time doing the yucky stuff that he didn't do. It never works, but he continues to try.

Ha!:crying: I bought DH socks last weekend because I knew I didn't plan on doing any laundry while I was off last week.

March... our 6 month bandiversary... where are we now?
*slim* replied to terilynn112's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is awesome Debbie! You are doing so great! Can I be you when I grow up? -
Both of those sound really good. Will have to try it!

What they said! I was nervous, but never doubted my decision.

Does anyone regret getting their LB?
*slim* replied to katskradle22's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The only thing I regret is waiting so to have it done. I should have done it years ago before I got so heavy. Good luck to you! -
I am a recovering emotional eater. I think the fear is harder to deal with before surgery. What should do now, before surgery, is start working on new things to replace the emotional eating. Starting to work on new habits now, will help you so much later. Even if it means going back to the therapist to work on new ways to deal with the emotions. Every day is a work in progress, a new start. Good luck to you!

I can't imagine such large breasts! What on earth are you looking at?:crying:
-
Me, too. Is everything ok?
-
3 Pounds in one day is too much. I am glad that you are doing ok. Keep me posted on how you do with the slight unfill.
-
Nope, not hallucinating. The joke fell flat when I re-read it. I never wanted it come across as offensive, and it read that way when I came back to the thread. I just deleted it.

Pill-Popping Lap Banders?
*slim* replied to MariasWish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still take pills. I will admit to cutting some of them (like tylenol) just in case. My doc said any pills the size of an pencil eraser are ok. I do take a chewable vitamin just because I am not willing to risk getting stuck on such a large pill. I would talk again to your surgeon for clarification. Always do whatever your surgeon says. -
I'm glad you didn't wait. I was concerned about you getting dehydrated over the weekend trying to get to Monday. I have been lucky (knock on wood) that I haven't had that happen yet.

March... our 6 month bandiversary... where are we now?
*slim* replied to terilynn112's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi everyone! Teri, I am so sorry that you are having trouble. Keep us posted on what happens. I have been stalled for a little bit. I lose a few pounds the week of my fills, but don't lose anymore after. This time, I actually gained weight. I have lost all but two of those pounds again. My clothes are getting lose again, so I guess I need to stop paying attention to the scale so much. I bought an exercise bike and have been trying to use that since the weather hasn't been the greatest. I know that our weight loss is supposed to be 1-2 pounds a week, but in my head, I still wanted it all gone now. I am trying to take it one step at a time. It is good to see the rest of you. We really need to do something to keep in touch more. -
Thanks for the recipe luluc. I have been really bad today, but I am owning up to it... b-1 scrambled egg, 1 sausage link, 1 slice toast, 1 cup coffee w/splenda s-.5 cup sliced strawberries l-d (I grazed for a few hours) 4 potstickers, 4 mini southwest chicken rolls, .5 cup fried rice:eek::eek::eek: s-1 6oz yoplait light

I so understand where you are coming from Beth. I can't reheat meat at all. I tried that. It did NOT work. I can't eat pork, but not because it won't go down. I don't know if I didn't chew it well enough, but it sat in my pouch too long. I had the most awful heartburn after eating it. I have found that I can still enjoy steak as long as I stop to think about the bite BEFORE I get it into my mouth. If I don't stop, I will shovel it in like before. The difference being, it won't go anywhere. Not a great feeling at all. It does take some time to get used to each level of restriction. Like RestlessMonkey said, talk it over with your doctor. I, for one, don't want to be so restricted that I can't eat anything but fish. I like fish, but I don't want to grow gills anytime soon. Good luck!

How long does it take to get an answer?
*slim* replied to Godschild's topic in Insurance & Financing
It took about a week for my approval. It took a little longer to actually get the letter in my hands. -
I am receiving them now. Thanks again.

Ok, somebody slap some sense into me. I have been grazing for the last 2 hours. Of course, I can't eat much, but I have eaten a little more every hour. I should never have cooked something I liked without cooking something else for me. uggg. I feel sick.
-
Thank you.

I swear we are married to the same guy. DH will change several times a day. I don't get it.
-
You sound like my mother. She will do that in a heart beat (go buy new).
-
Nope, I started a thread about it in the suggestoions and what not(I can't remember the full name) forum. Ha, I am so with you on all of these! We must have hatched from the same nest.
