You have my prayers for a safe and fun filled trip.

I peeled grapes this last time because the grapes were soooooo good. I think it had just been so long since I had some grapes that I was willing to go through the trouble.

It's a Chinese dumpling. It has similar filling to an eggroll (or at least the kind that I buy does).

HELP! Please give me your opinions
*slim* replied to Ready2BHealthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't really start to feel full until I had my last (5th) fill. I don't know how much I have in my band. Truthfully, the amount in the band will differ per person on how much it takes to feel restriction. I think you are doing great. I would get another fill though. That should help. Also, don't go for full, instead go for satisfied. If you wait until you feel full, once you have good restriction, that may actually make you fee sick. It is not a good feeling. Good luck! -

Oh yeah, I have to peel plums and grapes. I haven't even tried oranges since I was unable to eat the plum. I just juiced the orange. I was able to eat canned mandarin oranges with no problems.

Ebony, I don't think that you would still be sitting on your rear. You have so much gumption that I KNOW you would have done it. You inspire me. Susan, you have my prayers and thoughts. Hi everyone!

Mac-I am so sorry that you are having car issues. Are you going to keep the car, or trade for something else?

Can I just become you two's cyber stalker? I have been reading your recipes, and they have all sounded great!

I hope that you feel better soon. I know that has to be very uncomfortable.

A quiet office is great for a Monday morning.

There are a couple of possibilities. It could be that you are being too restrictive with your calories. In that case, your body is in starvation mode. It will hold on to everything and cause your weight loss to stall. The other could be that after coming off of the liquid phase of the post-op diet, that you are losing weight, but you are also displacing what was basically an empty colon (TMI?) with solid waste. In that case, you are losing weight, but the adding of solid waste to your colon makes the scale stay the same. Start measuring yourself. That is a better way to tell if you are losing than just relying on the scale's numbers. Good luck to all of you!

Tap-I don't know how you live in such cold weather. Are you sure you aren't in Antarctica?

I didn't lose right after surgery. My doctor pointed out that the month or so after surgery is for healing, not for weight loss. My weight loss didn't really start until almost 3 months out. During the first three months, I think I only lost about pounds. Everyone's body is different, so not everyone will lose huge amounts of weight in the beginning. Don't get discouraged this soon in the game. Give it some time. Also, remember that you may not have any fill in your band to aid your weight loss (most docs leave the bands empty when they put them in). Just try to continue to watch what you eat and be patient. Good luck!

Yay! Doc found my port, finally!
*slim* replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope it kicks in for you! I am glad that he at least found it, but since you are self pay, it would have been nice of him to leave a little more so that you don't have to go back so soon. Good luck! -
Need some advice on drinks...
*slim* replied to hrtgoeson's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It seems that you have found the most of the drinks I would recommend. Right now, I live on the 3 different flavors of Hawaiian Punch. I also buy the Crystal light and the Welch's. I really like the juice flavors (grapefruit and grape). Wal-Mart even sells the apple juice flavor. None of them tastes exactly the same, but when you can't stand water and full sugar is out of the question, it works. I bought a couple of 32 oz bottles at a sporting goods store. I keep one with me full of whichever flavor of the day to stay hydrated. Good luck to you! -

Yay! I almost missed the to serve friends. Dangit! Are we going to get some painkiller posting? I went to Rock City last year. The entire trip about killed me walking around up there. I had to warn DS that there was NO WAY I was going across the rope bridge! I haven't done that in years. I have to say I agree.
