It's basically a modified post op diet that is done over five days. It seems to shrink the pouch and also help break the carb cycle. I've done it once. You can google it for the full instructions.

Hey All!! New from Georgia
*slim* replied to Amber824's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I used Dr. Jaime Ponce. He has offices in both Dalton, GA and Chattanooga, TN. He does charge somewhere in the neighborhood of $14,000 but that includes everything (surgery, hospital, and I think even some follow ups + reduced cost fills for the first year). I love his staff. They are really nice and knowledgable. -
You and me both!:tt2:

I am so sorry SNT. I have only known one person that had it. It wasn't the best situation. I will admit that she was an older person (sixty something), and I think that made it worse. I hope that you were able to get started on the meds soon enough to stop it from getting worse.

I haven't been to any of the support meetings. By the time they start, I am just leaving work downtown. There is no way I could make it to them before they were over. I am thinking about doing the pouch test next week to see if that will help my fill situation.

You are welcome to come play in the dirt at my house. I have a flower bed or two that really need some attention. I just don't know what to do with them.
-
Morning everyone. Hot coffee and a quiet house...life just doesn't get any better.
-
I hope you feel better SNT. I have never understood dead beat parents. Babies are so precious that I can't understand any parent(man or woman) that won't to right by their kids.

I saw her at my follow up appointment. She is nice.

It must only be doctor ponce that does that then. They would only schedule my first three with doctor ponce. I didn't see Brooke alone until my fourth fill.

When you are within your first 3 months at GBI, your surgeon will do your adjustments and follow ups.

It is May 21 at 2:00. I can only hope that I remember because I think I am off work that day. I keep post it notes on my desk at work to remind me of my appointments. I don't have such a wonderful system at home.

Horses, motorcycles....scared of them both. DH just wants a big truck. He has never shown much interest in the crotch rockets (thank goodness).

Ok, so here are my finger exercises. Are you feeling better G4E?

Well, my restriction is gone again. I actually had to eat my lunch for breakfast yesterday because I was starving. By last night, I was ravenous. I ate way less than what I would have pre-band, but still way more than what I should have with the band. I just decided not to go to bed hungry last night. Couple stress into that and you get a really bad situation. I went ahead and scheduled another adjustment. It is still two weeks away so if my restriction comes back, I have time to cancel. I am hungry this morning, so I doubt it is coming back today. I guess we all are having similar situations with the restriction. I wonder what makes it vary so much. I will admit that I would probably never have gone the gastric bypass route, but I sometimes question having gotten the band considering how tricky getting restriction is. I thought I had studied up on the subject, but reading about it and experiencing it are two different things.

Ok, so I wasn't seeing things when I read that yesterday. I am trying really hard to work on my lack of motivation. Today I am going to walk the stairs at work. I have to get my butt moving into an upward position before it starts hitting the backs of my knees.

Oh HEEEEELLLLLLLLLL NO! I couldn't help but laugh myself. What a way to spend the weekend! You got it right the first time. I have to agree, they are trying to rip parents off.
-
That is exactly how I feel punkster. I feel that restriction for such a short period of time. I am back to feeling like I am on a diet since I am actually still hungry when dinner is over. I am going to bed earlier at night just so that I can avoid the late night hunger.

Did not need that visual over coffee. So true. Perfect! Too funny! Yay for the ticker move!

I bet the magician was fun. I am sure the kids enjoyed it a lot. ***MIL drama alert*** Apparently, I have added hardware store to the list of things that I now do out of my house. MIL called wanting to know if I had any "extra" tubing that goes from the dryer vent to the wall. Who keeps extra of that stuff? Also, why would you call someone to ask that intead of going to the hardware store to buy it yourself?

The soup probably just slipped right through the band. I have to say that it is awful being really hungry in the evening. That is when I do my most damage. B-slim fast low carb L-lean cuisine tortilla fish D-lean cuisine chicken fettuccini
