:w00t::blushing::thumbup: Yay! Way to go Carrie!

I agree with you Beth. I know that I have been taking a hard look to determine what is really needed as opposed to what we just wanted. Taking the time to appreciate our lives and not just the "stuff" that is in them.
-
Hey Susan, I meant to say that I am glad that things are working better for you and your DH. I know having to move out of your home isn't the best, but it would be a clean start.

:lol::lol:

Tap-you are wonder woman! I don't know how you do it all!

I'm so sorry that this fill didn't work out. I am glad that you were able to get in to get the unfill. I have been ok. I am finally losing some, but I am starving in the process. I am scheduled for a fill on the 16th, but I am scared to get it.
-
heartfire-I hope things turn around for your DH's pay. I know all about the childcare situation. The amounts most daycare centers charge are dreadful.
-
Ebony, Beth, G4E-I am doing the happy dance! Thankfully, you can't see it. It ain't pretty. I am sending prayers, good vibes, good thoughts, etc your way! luluc-drink a 'rita for me!
-
punkster, how are you doing? Are you still having issues with this fill?
-
Ebony-I am so sorry that they are doing this to you. I can say this, from what I gather from your posts, you are MORE than capable of ,not only meeting the challenges of this job, you can and (I am sure) will surpass them. You can rise above that b*tchy boss that is obviously trying to push you out the door. Don't let her win this one.

did you request your info card from Lap Band?
*slim* replied to amberd910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Although I didn't get anything from my doctor's office, I went to the lapband website and got the info for getting a card. I called the 800 number (which someone else above has listed) and gave them my info. I now have the card in my wallet. I haven't tried to use it to order off of the kids menu. I have only gone out to eat a few times, but with people that don't know about my band. I don't really want them (or the strangers working wherever I am eating) to know about my band. What I couldn't eat, I gave to my 12 year old. He is eating like a horse anyway, so my added portion saves me from having to order extra for him. -
Happy Friday to you too Susan! Tap-that conference sounds like a winner. Those are going to be some really long days.

At this point, I can still do most chicken (except dry chicken breast). I haven't really had a problem with gas since right after surgery. That could be IBS or maybe taking in too much air while you eat? As far as your adjustments, I understand that even the tiny increments can make a difference once you have hit restriction. Also, I understand that most of the bands can hold a little more than the advertised amounts. I would think you should be ok.

March... our 6 month bandiversary... where are we now?
*slim* replied to terilynn112's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think the blood sugar plays a big part in how well we lose. Just don't give up. 23 pounds down is way better than the alternative. Don't be hard on yourself. Stay strong. -
today- b-coffee w/splenda, slim fast low carb s-babybel w/tomato basil wheat thins l-lean cuisine meat loaf (gross) d-whole wheat pasta w/sundried tomato pesto (so good!)

You recently had another fill, right? I would try slowing down a little more and maybe making your bites a little smaller to see if maybe your bites are too big for your current fill level.
-
G4E, I am so sorry. I pray for some divine intervention on your behalf.
-
b-coffee w/splenda s-half of a nonfat mocha l-lean cuisine d-cheeseburger happy meal with top half of the bun removed
-
Wow...that is all I can say, Ebony. You have all of the positive thoughts, prayers,etc... I hope those other jobs come through quickly.
-
G4E-I am so sorry that you are going through so much right now. I hope that everything (job, injury, family) works out soon! Keep us posted on what the doctor says.
-
You are doing so great! Over 100 pounds in a year is excellent!
-
Not a clue, but congrats on reaching the 1 year mark! How are you doing?

I had the same situation. I had reasonable expectations going in (I think). I didn't even know that there were forums devoted to the surgery until after I had started the process for approval. I started reading about the weight other people were losing and got so excited! I think I got into the hype of thinking I could lose that fast too. Of course, reality hit after surgery. I am proud of my weight loss, but I did go through the doubting stage when my weight loss wasn't on par with what I was reading. I had to come to my own realization that this isn't a race. We are all trying to reach the same goal (healthier/smaller bodies). It just may take me longer than others. I don't mind that. I am healthier now than I have been in years. I no longer have problems with high blood sugar. My blood pressure is normal. I don't regret my decision to get my band at all.
