I am so glad to know that it wasn't just me. I just knew I was having internet issues! :')

All right!

How hard was it to stick to liquids. My doc is requiring me to use 6 glucerna shakes a day($10 for six:cursing:) and all of the broth I want  for 2 weeks. I don't know if I will survive.:cool2:
-
I can only assume that my surgeon owns stock in glucerna because he refuses to let me use anything else. At $10 per six pack, they had better be darn good. That's $140 just for my pre-op diet. I had better lose lot of weight.
-
I wish you the best. I haven't started my 2 week diet, but I am sure I will feel the same way. Try to be strong, it will be worth it in the long run.

$250 of which I ended up paying $95. The rest was covered by insurance.

Surgery Tomorrow and Really Nervous! Have your pre-surgery wishes been granted?
*slim* replied to TrishaLight's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! I am not banded yet, so I can't tell you about that specific surgery. I have had two previous laproscopic surgeries, and they weren't really that bad. The pain (to me) was worse the first few hours after surgery but they gave me enough pain medicine that I slept through it. Of course, pain is relative to each person. From what I hear though, you really don't have a reason to be nervous. -
Approved!!approved!! Approved!

Way to go!:blushing: -
It might be time to see a counselor. If he won't go with you, go alone. This might help to address why he is feeling insecure in your marriage. I have read on this and other forums about the changes in a marriage after one spouse loses weight.

No matter how they count, you are doing an awesome job! Way to go!

Why is it that the one day that you look and feel your absolute worse, that is the day that you see that FINE :tt1: specimen of a man that you used to date? I admit that I would never want a lifetime relationship with him, but OMG this man is awesome!:wink2: I was no where near my size now when we dated. I was petite with curves then. Now I am a cow with clothes. Such is the story of my life.

"chugging" soup and drinks

I was just looking at your weightloss. Way to go! -
At this point, I wouldn't care if it came from Goodwill if it was out of the double digits and still could fit me.:wink2: Seriously, I will just be happy to walk into a store knowing that they will have something that fits me. I hate it when I walk into a store and they give you that "I know you don't think you can fit anything in here" look. So much can be said with that look. Enough that I rarely actually go into stores to shop for me. I buy everything from the online fat girl stores. I will be glad when my tags don't say Roaman's or Lane Bryant. I would be glad to wear George if the tag said 8!

I've been told the same thing. I can only say it will be their loss. Not mine.

You add the URL for your ticker to your signature under edit profile. On the left side there is one that says edit signature. You add it to the signature block. Click on preview signature to make sure you put in the url correctly. I think it has to be in BBcode to work. -
I am feeling much better about my choice of doctor. I noticed that in the FAQ part of the forum, there is a part listing different studies on banding. My doctor was the author of at least two of those studies. That makes me feel a little more confident in his skills as my doctor.

I have been researching WLS for a couple of years now. My insurance only covered GB and I just was too scared to have that done. My last straw moments started last year. In less than 6 months, I lost two cousins to type 2 diabeties/heart attacks. They were in their 40s. Everyone in my family is morbidly obese (I hate those words). My mom had 11 brothers and sisters (I know, lots of children). Of the 9 that are still alive, all of them have type 2 diabeties (including my mom who is in denial). I want to live a long healthy life. I want to see my son get married one day. I can't do that if I am not here. My insurance started covering lap band in January. I still hadn't made up my mind on having surgery. Then my PCP told me that she was putting me on blood pressure medicine. That was it. I knew that I was traveling down a path that leads to more poor health and death. I went to a free seminar that night. I met with the surgeon on Aug 5th. I am scheduled for surgery 10/02/08. I am hoping that I will be there to play with my son. Its a shame when an 11 year old accepts that his mom can't run around the back yard without sweating and weezing.

Until I started having swelling issues, my feet never really looked like they belonged to a fat girl. My size 7 feet don't match me at all. Of course, I am just a BIT on the short size. Ok, a LOT on the short side.
-
Thanks so much.

Where do you get it from?
-
Do you get any type of rash from using it? I haven't found a way to get rid of hair on my girly bits without getting awful hair bumps. I've tried shaving and even a hair cream that was supposedly just for the bikini area.
-
How long does the hair stay gone? I have bought that for my DH. They have one specifically for bald styles. He shaves his head once a week to hide that he is going bald. He wouldn't try it. I may take it and try it on my legs.

I had a thermal uterine ablation. That is where they run hot water through the uterus to burn it. After that, I didn't have a period for over a year. Because it could be dangerous to accidentally get pregnant after this procedure, I had my tubes tied. Now my periods are worse than they ever were before. I had no idea that getting my tubes tied could actually make my periods worse. Now I am on birth control pills trying to get them back under control. I have to use both tampons and pads to control leakage.
