  1. I wish you the best of luck. It would have been nice if the insurance company had told you about the do not pay codes when you were first denied. That would have saved you a lot of time and stress. Of course, I know that they don't make anything easy. Anyway, good luck to you.
  2. I feel your pain. I will have to do basically a month of liquids too. I really feel sorry for my family. lol
  3. I'm scared! They have given me too long to think about this. I am now up to 9th and 10th thoughts about going through with this. I know I need to do it. I know I obviously can't do it alone, but I am so scared of life after banding. The "what ifs" are killing me!

    Good Lentil recipes?

Can any other meat be used in this recipe? It sounds very good but neither my DH nor son will eat lamb.

    Forgotten birthday

I'm with FairyFacade. My not so DH expects me to recognize his birthday so I expect the same. It doesn't have to be an expensive give (although he seems to think he should have one:thumbdown:), but he had better acknowledge my birthday. I would be mad.:crying: Since he is absent minded, he needs to start leaving himself notes to remind him of special days. You should not have to tell him when your birthday is after you are married. That is just my point of view. Even if he doesn't make a big deal about his own, if he knows how you feel about yours, then he should make that effort.
  9. You have to make the ticker at a website like www.tickerfactory.com . There are others out there, but that is the one I have seen the most. After you make it there, you come back to lapbandtalk and edit your signature. You copy the code from the ticker website into the edit signature box. Then you type in any other information that you want inclduded in your signature in the edit signature box also. I hope this helps!:crying:
  10. As others have said, the pre-op diet really depends on the doctor. If you are to have a pre-op diet, they will make sure that you know what to do and when to do it. Most doctors also require a post-op liquid diet. My doctor requires both. I have a two week liquid only pre-op diet and a 4 week graduated post-op diet (1 week clear liquid, 1 week full liquid, 1 week soft food, 1 week mushie). Every doctor is different. Whatever your doctor gives you, make sure you follow his instructions. Good Luck!

    ?ctober ?dyssey 2008

I start my diet on my mom's birthday. She is going to be 59 so I'd say it may not be the age. She seems to be trying to sabotage (sp?) me already. She keeps asking me if I am sure I want to do this. She seems to think this is just like gastric bypass. I have tried to explain it to her, but she is not trying to listen. So I guess I will deal with her cooking and baking pies (she didn't start doing this until I told her I was having surgery). She is really acting like the friends that you lose after losing weight. I don't know if she is just worried about me as her child, or if there is also some jealousy because I will no longer be larger than her. I don't know.

    please help

You can get the low carb slim fast at walmart. I have also seen the eas advantage at walmart in the pharmacy section. If you have a Sam's club, they also sell them by the case.
  20. Not everyone does a pre-op diet. It seems to vary from doctor to doctor. It is to shrink the fat from the liver so that when they move it during surgery, the equipment that they use will be able to hold it. My doctor requires one, but other people going to the same weight loss center that I attend but to different doctors, aren't doing one. I would say if you weren't told about it, you don't have one.
