  1. It's sad to say this, but even when you lose the weight, they will have something else to disparage (sp?) about. Whether it is the weight loss or something else. I have family like this also. They seem to feel better about themselves, the more that they are able to make you feel bad. I really wish there was a way to actually pick your family. There is no law that says you have to do anything to do with them. Your life will be so much better without the stress of what they have to say. As overweight people, we have SO much more to worry about. You do what you have to do to make YOU happy. You can see your dad without seeing them. Invite him to dinner or do something special with him. Both of you will enjoy that one on one time with each other without interference from his verbally abusive family. Good luck to you.

    More nervous now...

I am so sorry that you are still in pain. To help toughen your gums, rinse your mouth with warm salt Water. It really helped me after having all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled (this would explain why I don't have much wisdom left:laugh:). Also, found that using baby orajel around my gums really helped with the pain. You just put a little on a q-tip and lightly rub it on. I hope you feel better soon.

    Firing my PMD

    Yay for you!
  4. Way to go! You will do fine. The Mag Citrate won't be a memory after Monday!
  5. I am so sorry that you are going through this with family. Unfortunately, family seems to be the ones that think that they can just say what they want and it be ok. It's not ok to treat people the way that you are being treated. You don't have to go. I agree with Restless, you can be too busy to go. That is completely up to you. If you do decide to go, I would make sure that they understand that kind of talk is no longer acceptable. If they can't do that, leave. It's that simple. Maybe if you put your foot down, they will finally see what the things that they have said have done to you. If not, they don't really care, and you are better off without them. That is just my opinion.
  6. Happy Bandiversary! You and the others like you on this board are such inspirations! Keep up the good work!
  7. I have been having trouble getting here all day. Is there something going on, or is it just me?
  8. I am on a pre-op diet too. I have my surgery the day after you. I don't get a meal either. I still have to cook for my family which makes this even harder. I have been feeling really sucky. I stayed in bed most of today and probably will tomorrow to. I have to work until my surgery. I can only hope that being at work makes the time go faster. Good luck with your surgery.
  9. Thank you for letting me know that I am not crazy.

No problem. Did it work? Let me know if you are still having trouble, maybe between the two of us, we can figure it out.

    So here I go...

Congrats! I remember that feeling of excitement (like I have gotten rid of it yet). My surgeon's office said the same thing about not scheduling without the letter, BUT they accepted an emailed approval acknowledgement from my insurance company that was sent to me (I emailed my insurance company to find out if I had been approved). You never know, they may schedule you with that?

The easy way is to click on your ticker (that will take you to your ticker at ticker factory), then put in the pin number that you created when you made your ticker. That will allow you to update the information you put in without having to recopy the URL. If you don't remember the pin number that you created, then just make another ticker. Hope this helps.

  14. Congrats on your rebanding! I live on the scale too, and it is driving me nuts! I need to take the batteries out of it!
  15. Even in my skinny days, my breasts were NEVER perky. I have been thinking about implants for years. I just felt there was no point in getting them while fat. After I lose my weight, I plan to use that as an excuse to go ahead and have it done.

    How long.....

My husband is 35. Usually he lasts about 30 minutes or until I get mines (whichever comes first...pun intended). After I get mines, I am like several others and want it to be over. I TRY not to be selfish, but hey...
  17. Congrats on your surgery! Awesome job on the pre-op diet!
  18. I knew something was wrong with my sleeping patterns. I would wake up several times a night (a couple of times choking to breath). I was so tired during the day that by lunch time, I was exhausted. I finally told my PCP who sent me for a sleep study. I have been using my CPAP now for 2 years. I can't sleep without it now. I figure I will continue to use it after weight loss because it soothes me. Talk to your doctor about your symptoms. I hope this helps.

You made a mistake. Forgive youself and get back on track. We are all going to be on a learning curve, so expect to make errors in judgement at some point without thinking. You have been doing well up to now, so just dust yourself off and keep going.
  22. Ok, I am on the pre-op liquid diet. I know that it can have dire consequences if I eat things that aren't allowed. What about if I am not taking it all in, do you think that can be a problem? My doc says drink 6 glucerna shakes a day. After drinking one per meal, I feel like I am swimming. I am getting my fluids in, but 6 shakes is really pushing it for me. Do you think that will be an issue, or should I force myself to do 6 shakes?
